Healthy Eatz Vegetarian Cafe & More

Sign says open at 11:00 am but doors were locked... nobody home? Parking lot has some overgrown spots.Does anybody know whether this place is still open for business ?

I like the concept of healthy eating and I also appreciate good customer service wherever I spend my dollars. While traveling 5 hours away we were hungry and searched for something quick but healthy. We decided to come here because of the name and also because there aren't many healthy options in the area. The only person that was friendly at this establishment was the cook. He came out to speak and to show us our pizza. The owner walked in the door as we were leaving. We were introduced to her but she barely parted her lips to speak. Not good. We just spent money in your restaurant and you can't speak to us. We got home and as you can see from my pics below the pizza and mushroom burger were good but the sweet potato fries were burned beyond recognition. I like to support black businesses but you gotta be worthy of the support.

Staff was friendly, and meal was tasty. I got the specials, jerk chicken burger and the strawberry shortcake ice cream cupcake. Anything on the menu can be made vegan using vegan cheese :) I support this family run business. Looking at the other pictures, I need to come back for the Philly cheesesteak and the egg rolls.

I stopped by here on my way back to Richmond and whenever I'm back in the area I will most certainly be back. I ordered the vegan gyro with fries and it was fantastic. The meal itself was prepared after I ordered and was worth the small wait. The pita for the gyro was soft, the veggies fresh, and the tatziki flavorful. The actual gyro "meat" was seasoned well with a little bit of heat which I appreciated. The service was great, with the person behind the counter being friendly and super attentive

Have you ever followed vegan and vegetarian hashtags so you can look at the food posts and drool while you think about how delicious it must be? Have you ever watched Tabitha Brown whip up something incredible and wanted to take a bite of your phone as she took her first bite? You don't have to fantasize anymore just visit this place. The food is fantastic, it comes to your table hot and fresh and the customer service is amazing. I had the Philly cheese and fries and my friend had the curry chick'n with rice and beans. Both dishes did NOT disappoint. Excellent selection for those who have or are trying to cut meat out of their diet. Pleasant customer service with a wide variety of vegan and vegetarian entrees too. The menu changes every now and then and includes specials so there is always variety and good size portions. After overhearing the staff take an order from a customer coming from Suffolk and the care she took to make sure the food wasn't started too soon so the order wouldn't sit, I was impressed with the attention to customer-service detail as well as the trek the customer was willing to make to Newport News for some vegan victuals. I then talked to the owner about how much I enjoyed the atmosphere and food. During this conversation she let me know that they have a location in Williamsburg as well. Healthy Eatz also offers meal prep services and considers all dietary restrictions when doing so. And they have a new food truck--this gem will be on wheels soon.

WOW! There's nothing more that can be said about the food and service, a must go place to eat! Don't miss out!Oh! I forgot to mention, AND IT'S BLACK OWNED!!!!

I had the Shepherds Pie - had to be the best vegan entree I've ever had. (I've been vegetarian my entire life, 60 years +)Will definitely go back whenever I'm in town.

I wanted to not only give this restaurant a try, but I also wanted to love the place. The cafe was nice and spacious. I ordered the fried mushrooms and 2 Philly Steak Rolls. I also added on the Fish Slider Meal, I'm certainly glad I did! The food took awhile so I thought I was in for a treat. Sad to say the only treat I got was the arguing between two of the employees. Maybe that's why the food took so long and came out sub par. After getting my food I found that the mushrooms were good and the sliders were okay since I've had the Gardein brand. The Philly Steak Rolls were horrible!!! Stay clear of those grease filled "Mis Steaks"! The Rolls had a decent filling but they were not cooked evenly and they were soaked with grease. Had the Cook been more focused on my food instead of arguing then maybe my experience would have been better. I spent almost 30 bucks so I expected a decent product.

Yay, new amazing vegan food on this side of the water, can I get an Amen?! I was so happy when I saw this place opened up because vegan/vegetarian spots in Newport News are slim to none. I called in an order for pick up. But I was so hungry I just ate my meal there. I ordered the KeKe. It's a vegan panini. It was so good, the vegan cheese was so pleasantly melted, for vegans that's huge. I had to ask what kind they used, surprisingly it was daiya. I couldn't resist buying a vegan cookie sandwich. I tried the chocolate chip with chocolate cream filling. It was delicious. The gentlemen working the front counter were very friendly. When I was on my way out they gave me a free house made drink! It was some type of lemonade. That was very nice. The restaurant was pretty big and promoted cool healthy quotes and good vibes. All in all, very satisfying experience. 10/10 recommend.

This was my first time eating at Healthy Eatz. I saw on a drive visiting my family. I was excited to see a plant-based vegetarian restaurant in Newport News and decided to get something to go. Staff was really nice, great conversation and took the time answering questions about ingredients in the dishes. If you are vegan they have plenty of flexible Vegan items on the menu. They have desserts too!Curry Chickn was so good. Lots of flavor, spicy, and a really good portion. I will be back to try the Terriyaki bowl and Southwest eggroll.
