Hawthornes Beer Cafe

Always a good time at Hawthorne's. Been coming here for years and years. Never disappoints. Recently I've been taking myself there on cute lunch dates and sitting outside. Great people watching, great location, great service. My go to is a glass of Prosecco and the BLT. It's the best BLT I've ever had (I eat a lot of BLTs). The bacon is thick cut and crispy. The mayo to bacon tomato ratio is suspiciously perfect every time so I'm not sure how they do it but I don't ask questions. I'm sorry I don't have a picture of the BLT, because I inhale it immediately and there is no time for pics. I usually get a genuine compliment from staff when I am there; not sure if it's me deserving the compliment or them just being delightful as always. They have great cocktails; get the French 75, they do it right. Overall, solid neighborhood haunt. Good vibes, good people, good food, good drinks. Just a good time! Thanks for the consistently awesome service over the years and keep up the great work.

I've been to Hawthrone's about 3 times since the summer and I always get great service with great food. Out of the 3 times we've been, we've brought our dog twice and they always provide water and shade for the pups which I absolutely love. It also doesn't hurt that the food is great and the specials are amazing.We love to come here for a lazy/easy afternoon and can't wait to sit outside again now that it's warming up!

I needed something filling and delicious and boyyyy. The hot mess was it! The potatoes were cooked to perfection and so were the eggs. What really stole the show for me was the sauce. It was creamy and well-seasoned and really complimented everything in the dish. The ambiance was very chill and inviting. There is ample indoor seating for groups or, if you're riding solo, like me, there's plenty of space at the bar. I had two drinks during my visit: a Bellini and the outlaw beer on tap. Both were delicious. If you enjoy light blonde beer, the outlaw is just that. I will definitely be back for lunch and dinner because the menu looks dope!

No thank you...I came here on two occasions. First around Christmas as pictures will show for a quick drink and appetizer at the bar. My husband and I had a great experience. So come V-day, we decided to visit this spot again. And oh-my-lawd....First the place was HALF-full but servers were so busy that they barely had time to take orders. The place had 2 servers on V-day on staff with the hostess helping out. Would you not try to staff more folks on a holiday?I ordered house kambucha that came in a tiny portion for 7 bucks & just sucked in taste. My husband ordered a penicillin which came in a nice glass and was decent. He ordered a second one...and it came in a tiny PLASTIC glass as the picture will show. The server said that they ran out of glasses and that it happens from time to time. My husband was unhappy with the plastic glass (cocktails are 12-15 dollars, they shouldn't come in a plastic glass in a restaurant). The server stated that yes they run out of glasses and no one complained before. My husband decided to order beer instead to which the server said that he wanted us to know that the house had only 2 beer glasses left. At this point this was so sad that it was funny!Dear Management, this is your sign to purchase more glassware if you didn't think of it till now....If you constantly run out of cocktail glasses, get more. Your place was not even full !Now as for food: We got chicken dip as an appetizer, which is barbecue sauce mixed with blue cheese and pulled (barely) chicken. Eh...For main my husband wanted a brisket sandwich but they Ran out again ironically...Ha haHe instead ordered a burger. The server never asked for temperature & brought out well-done.I got chicken parm, a burnt cutlet with salty pesto, and tomatoes on the vine. No garnish! The server should have told me it was A La Cart. I am sorry, am I supposed to take off each tomato of the vine? Did you wash the vine? This is just dumb.Before we left we saw another table getting a 5 min explanation from the hostess that they ran out of bottled water and that their special filtered water is just as amazing.I just can't with this place.

These photos are different because i literally went two days in a row, everything on the money sounds delicious i feel as though i would never run out of options! Have been for brunch 3 times and have never left hungry , that's for sure! The wait staff is super friendly and doesn't rush you at all. I appreciated the samples of the beers on tap and food recommendations. Would go back tomorrow !

Had a decent lunch with a friend today. The food was good, we sat outside and had a leisurely lunch. When we paid our bill in cash, and when the server returned with our change we were told that on cash payments the round the bill up and donot give change. Our $40.14 bill became $41. Honestly, it's not the .84 extra cents that bothers me, but we should have been told in advance. And I always thought rounding went both ways. We dined out frequently and this was a FIRST!!!

I love going here on a nice day and sitting outside for brunch. They have one of my favorite bloody Mary's in Philly. I asked to get the chicken salad sandwich on sourdough and they nailed it. It was delicious. Everyone else enjoyed their meal too. Great chill brunch vibes.

Had the Egg white Green goddess omelet. Plenty of spinach and artichoke mixed with feta cheese and pesto. Very delicious. The only downside is that it was a very short pour of the glass of wine. Had to order another glass to make it up lol

If you are a brunch lover like me, Hawthornes's is a great place to check out! They have lots of savory and sweet options, and the vibe is super cute :). I got South of the Border, which is a layer of super crispy tortillas topped with perfectly sunny side up eggs, avocado, black beans, cheddar cheese, cilantro sour cream, and tomato salsa. All the flavors were so good and well seasoned. I was impressed at how crispy the tortillas stayed as I devoured the plate. The home fries were also delicious. My friend got the Italian Sausage Board, which had grilled sweet italian sausage, whipped ricotta,sautéed broccolini, pickled fennel, and herbed focaccia. 10/10 for aesthetics (and of course taste). Will definitely come back!

Best food!!!!! I was looking for a place to eat near Philadelphia Magic Gardens and this place was the best choice I could find!!! The food is AMAZING!!! The drinks are DELICIOUS!!! I got the Buffalo Chicken Dip and my husband got the Shrimp Jambalaya!! Hats off to the chef :) Both slammin!!!!! Drinks: Smoked Maple Old Fashion and New York Sour.
