Hawkins Grill & Pizzeria

Just tasty food, not fancy but high quality!Love the gyros. The subs are tasty and filling. I need to bring a friend to help me finish one. And it's always service with a smile. My favorite lunch place. It's a good week when I can get lunch there several days.

I've been to this place numerous of times and I have to say this place never fails. Fresh food and good service without the high price.

I got recommended this place. I was excited and sadly disappointed real quick. Chicken Alfredo has ZERO flavor no spices at all even the chicken was unseasoned and the portion was so small for $10? Ordered the chick parm, the tomato sauce taste like straight out of a can, no flavor at all as well. Salad is just a bunch of small VERY small baby bites of lettuce.

Have never had the pizza but burgers, hot dogs, wings, soups and salads that we have ordered over many visits have always been good. Seasoned fries are very good. Service is quick and friendly. The building is somewhat run down but it's always seemed clean.

Friendly service but the pizza is nothing to write home about. The pie dough is hand tossed but is a simple flour and yeast blend that is light on the olive oil and salt. The pizza sauce was flavorful but sparse. Toppings, however, were fresh and ample. Beverages consist of soda, ice tea, water and lemonade. No beer or wine.The building is in need of a facelift (little tasks like taking a razor to the over-paint on the window glass would help the appearance). The décor is simple which would be fine if the food stood out as exceptional, but it does not. Convenient for carry out, but pretty bland for sit down dining. On the good side, the place was clean and the wait staff was very friendly. This appears to be a recently opened, family owned and operated business, so hopefully they will continue to improve the food and the ambience.

I like their hot wings. They are flavorful, meaty and the right spiciness. The pizza is pretty good too. I'll be back.

I believe Mike's pepperoni pizza to be the best we have eaten . My niece & nephew still speak of the time Uncle Tim brought home that " Big Pizza " 28 "His steak & cheese sub & special fries is another favorite as well as meat Gyro . The Restaurant & Bathrooms are always clean / I just wish he was open on Saturdays as well . The Best Pizza in Sanford with reasonable prices and great service . You will not be disappointed .

Wonderful food at reasonable prices. Great service from a place that been consistently a place to visit regularly . Quality ingredients, You can see Pizza/ calzones being made AFTER YOU ORDER!

This was my 1st time eating at Hawkins Ave Grill and it will be my LAST time eating there. I called my order (Philly Cheese Steak Sub and a Hamburger Combo for my wife) in at 1:19 as I was leaving Walmart area. They said it would be ready in 10 minutes. I dashed across town and arrived at 1:31. They weren't really that busy maybe 10 people inside and no one at the counter ordering. They served ONE person with a pickup in front of me. After 18 minutes I finally got my order. I drove straight home and the wife and I ate. As for my Philly Cheese Steak sandwich I would rate it about 3 on a scale of 10. My wife's burger was absolutely HORRIBLE! Needless to say we will NEVER return to the Hawkins Ave Grill again!

Generally we eat here once a week... we normally get the pizza. Recently, the last 3-4 maybe even five months the pizza dough is nothing to write home about. I imagine it is a frozen dough that they get in and simply press out into a pan. There is no texture to it nor any flavoring. Typically, a hand tossed fresh pizza dough will pop up around the edges and create air bubbles. This pizza dough is very bland and flat! And perfectly, perfectly shaped. The toppings are wonderful. If I could get a pizza without the dough that would be the ticket!
