We came here for a very late dinner at 11:30 pm because most other places in Philadelphia stop serving food by 10 or 11 pm on a weeknight. The restaurant was brightly lit and quite busy. The kitchen and dining area were pretty beat up and dirty. I had a spicy chicken sandwich with coleslaw and pickles on top, my kid had the classic with lettuce and tomato. Mine was surprisingly tasty, on par with Popeye's. The kid had to take off the lettuce because it had visible brown dirt on the leaves as though it were never washed. Still she enjoyed the taste of the rest of the sandwich. We also had fries that were soggy and limp. Overall this is a place to go only when you're desperate for food at night.

This is my second time trying Hatch and Coop and I really wanted this to be a go to for late nights but somehow the food and service is worse than last time. This is one of the only late night spots in Philly. If you have no other option please just Uber eats from Wawa, take the short trip to one of the many taco spots in South Philly, or just go to bed hungry. The chicken and waffles are served on a liege style Eggo waffle. It's literally an Eggo waffle I watched the cook rip it out the pack. The Hatch sauce is good but I could not get over paying that much for a freaking frozen waffle and probably a frozen chicken tender. It's very much a gentrified fast food spot. The best thing about this place is the cute light they have out the front with their logo in it. There's just a few tables lined up on the back wall. They do have touch screen ordering but I wouldn't dare touch one on any late night. And it's usually packed so it's best to order online. Again skip this place. The food is nothing to call home about and it's not going to be the remedy for your hangover. The security guard was also one of the most rude people I have ever encountered. I completely understand he has to deal with drunk people but it is never an excuse to be nasty to a customer or to staff. He was so rude to one of his coworkers I couldn't believe it. If I hadn't already received my food I would have requested a refund from his attitude alone.

After first walking in, I felt like I was in a run down, poorly maintained kitchen that probably shouldn't be open. Most surfaces were dirty and the cook top didn't look any better. The staff was kind and quick (we were the only people inside). One cook was there the whole time, two other cooks came and went for some reason? The fried chicken in my chicken sandwich was a little dry/overdone, but honestly I was happy because I was fairly worried about food poisoning. The fries were bland, no salt or seasoning. The sauces I ordered for my meal came pre-packaged, nothing made inside the kitchen. I was actually happy everything was prepackaged/cooked so I knew it was sealed and not contaminated. The overall experience was fine. I didn't get sick, but I won't be going back there again.

This was such a cool late night find! I really Would love to have one in DC. And it would actively help to make that happen! :) The choices were great and delicious. And the music made it almost like a late night club scene.

The fried chicken waffle sandwich + fried egg wasn't the best but you can't really expect the best at 3am lolChicken was very flat. The maple syrup sauce was too sweet and tasted a bit off so halfway through, I discarded the waffle that had the syrup drizzle and just ate the chicken. Still made my stomach slightly upset....Staff is prompt and nice!

Hatch & Coop on South 12th Street in the Jefferson University Medical Center neighborhood is a perfect place to catch a tasty breakfast either before or after an appointment with your doctor (In my case, before). Walking in the first impression is of gray/black walls and loud reggae music. Attractive in a quasi industrial kind of ethos. Counter and kitchen along one wall and a half dozen tables against the other. Orders are taken via kiosk, which is easily followed, and then prepared and served by a worker with a smile. Their 50/50 Sandwich comes loaded with 2 scrambled eggs, choice of bacon or turkey sausage and melted cheese on a Hawaiian Roll, with sautéed onion and special house mayonnaise slid in to fit under the hood. First bite was enough to get me excited. The sweetness of the roll was challenged by the savory of the sausage and onions, while the eggs were soft and neutral, and the mayo tickled the buds with a little heat. It was an excellent sammy. Only shortcoming was the complete absence of coffee in the house. Boy, what I would have done for a large mugga joe! A plastic bottle of water is not a real alternative when caffeine is called for that time of day. Still, the atmosphere was chill and utilitarian and they will be open 24/7 soon. With the hospital down the street, these guys should be busy any time of day or night. Hatch should be a feast for the senses for those folks.

Oh my goodness...You need to try Hatch & Coop. This is one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. The workers at this location are super friendly and provide great recommendations. My favorite sandwich was the Coop since I loved the slaw mix pairing and the chicken was so tender. The fried pickles were also excellent and perfectly crispy along with the homemade house sauce. The service was quick! Highly recommend this place if you want high quality large sandwiches for pretty decent prices.

This review is for the food. I've been walking by this spot for a while now and was excited to try it after all the good reviews. Popped in for lunch today and ordered The Coop (spicy). I came home and was disappointed to see the chicken looked burnt. I thought let me bite into it and maybe it'll taste fine. But nope, it tasted burnt. Pretty disappointed

First time going to Hatch&Coop! Didn't even know it existed until i worked around the corner. I got the steak breakfast sandwich and it was good. Keith and Alicia were a VIBE. That duo together is definitely a burst of energy you love to see on a Friday. They were very accommodating and friendly. Tried their ice cream and waffles and they have me and my team wanting to come back for more!
