Harper's Ice Cream

I absolutely love Harper's. If you're looking for the best cookies and cream ice cream in town, this is your place! They also have rotating flavors that you can sample before you commit to anything. The service is always great and the staff here are super friendly. It is a dog friendly establishment as well with indoor & outdoor seating.

5 stars just for the woman behind the counter. Just the sweetest person ever - she let us try as many flavors as we wanted! She also let us know that 1 scoop technically equals 2 scoops and she let us have 2 different flavors each! Awesome!! I got a scoop of Lemon Sponge Pie (with actual chunks of shortbread cookies - my favorite of the four!) and a scoop of Space Brownie (dark chocolate flavor with sprinkles etc) while my husband got PB&J (yummm!!) and Carrot cake (again, it actually had pieces of carrot cake!!).The place is quite big! There is enough space inside - I think there are 2 tables with 4 chairs each, then there are two areas either side of the entrance with high top chairs AND there are at least 2-3 patio tables for outdoor seating - definitely WAY more than I have seen at other ice cream stores.But honestly, the ice cream flavors, the hospitality, and the weather today - can't complain!!

Brought my family here and everyone loved it! The staff member who helped us was very patient as we asked for multiple samples and made our final decisions. Their flavors are unique and I love how they prioritize sourcing their dairy and mix-ins locally. Plus the surprisingly reasonably prices and massive portions? Ridiculously sweet.They have a few tables and some barstool seating inside as well as a few picnic tables outside.

Another great small batch artisanal ice cream shop in Philadelphia, this one on West Girard Avenue in the Brewerytown neighborhood. First exposure was via the current Yelp Event granting a free scoop of their available ice cream flavors as an introduction to their amazing panoply of choices. I kvelled for the dual scoop of Strawberry and Carrot Cake creamies, finding the pink berry to be subtle, soothing and delicious, and the matrix of real carrot cake in vanilla bean to be engaging and delightful, although perhaps not as good as they would be eaten separately when the cream cheese icing would dominate. Nonetheless, the visit was rewarding with Mars providing the scooperonis with strong wrist and quick humor. I knew my family would be disappointed if I didn't think of them while in the store and bring at least one sample home. I found a pint of their private label Butter Pecan in the undersized retail freezer, and grabbed it knowing I would be welcomed home a hero for snaring her favorite flave. That was an underestimate of the response received. I couldn't tell which she loved more - the butter pecan dreamcream which was just exceptional, or me! She sure made a bigger fuss about the chill smooth dance party in her mouth, but I can't complain about how she expressed her gratitude to me later on. A win win win all around!

Highly recommend! For me to stop in Brewerytown, there is likely only one reason and it is to stop here. This is my favorite ice cream shop in the whole city, hands down. There are so many other places that either have super basic flavors or super sweet options, the ice cream here is top notch. We tried the carrot cake flavor and it was creamy and delicious. It was the first scoop in a while where I happily ate to the bottom of the cup and continued to crave another helping. Can't wait to return again soon and grab a pint for the road!

Diabetes never tasted so good.My gold standard for ice cream is cookies and cream, and Harper's makes it to spec. Want something not as basic? Get their Philly Stoop Scoop. It's fire. It's got pretzels in it, a fun texture, and a colorful flavor. YOU CAN TASTE COLORS.For maximum value, get a pint to go. Especially if you love ice cream and want more than a few scoops.Find them in Brewerytown! This brick-and-mortar is *about* a year old, if I remember right. Excellent customer service and patience from the lady behind the counter. We sampled different ice cream flavors & the sample serving size was generous!One small serving was actually about two scoops!The 3 different mints are different because one is vegan, one is regular, and one is double the chocolate. The rum flavored ice cream has real rum in it.

I loved making the trip out to brewery town to try this new spot and it was well worth it! The store was kept tidy , service was friendly and the ice cream was super creamy and tasty. Be sure to stop in for a sweet treat!

So good you don't have time to lick this flavor, you bite right I to it. I sampled a couple and ended up with the Philly stoop. Next time I'll get mocha swirl for some licking action and maybe pick a day when it's not 40 degrees out. Reasonable prices for some homemade ice cream flavors. It's of great flavors to choose from including dairy free
