We were looking for a happy hour that lasted until 7 p.m. and found one here! When we walked in, the place far exceeded our expectations in ambiance -- it is a beautiful, interesting space! It was pretty packed so, clearly, this is a popular place. We made our way over to the bar and some girls sitting there told us they were just about to leave and we could have their seats. Super nice of them! We took a look at the happy hour menu and were impressed with both the offerings and pricing. The plates were all $7 each and the drinks ranged from $5 to $7. We decided to split the daily pizza (which was a delicious spicy veggie combo with corn and jalapeños), the whipped ricotta, and the salmon poke. Yum - it was all delicious! We each had a glass of wine. And we both thought our bartender was really nice and attentive. All in all, it was a great experience!

Harp & Crown in Philadelphia has a lot of potential, but unfortunately, my recent dining experience left much to be desired. The hostess seemed overwhelmed with three people standing behind the hostess stand, but our server Amber was a bright spot with her sweet and attentive service. The location of the restaurant on Sansom Street in the heart of Center City is convenient, and the ambiance is elegant and inviting. However, the lighting was too dim, making it difficult to read the menu without using a phone light. As for the food, it was a mixed bag. The Crispy Brussels Sprouts with apple jam and onion were a standout, earning a perfect 5/5 rating. However, the Roasted Beets were lacking something, and the Grilled Octopus was undercooked, receiving low ratings of 3/5 and 2/5 respectively. The pizzas, including the Margherita and Mushroom & Truffle, were disappointing with soggy crusts and lacking in flavor. The Roasted Salmon was raw and the Steak Frites were served rare instead of medium, both dishes earning low ratings of 1/5. Steak frites was also not a NY strip but bone in Ribeye. We opted not to order dessert and were surprised to be charged for a birthday tart with a sparkler. The pricing of items like water and the odd smell of something burning towards the end of our meal added to the negative experience.Overall, I do not recommend dining at Harp & Crown and will not be returning. The chef's execution of dishes was inconsistent and disappointing, making this visit my last. Pros included the drinks, Brussels sprouts, and service, while the cons included the food, parking, and lighting. Street parking was a nightmare, and Vegetarian options were limited, with only approximately four dishes available.Food ordered: ROASTED BEETS - feta, almonds, dill. something was missing still not sure what it was. Rating: 3/5 CRISPY BRUSSELS SPROUT-apple jam, onion, peppercorn. This was everyone favorite dish it was perfection very fresh and flavorful with a nice charred flavored.Rating: 5/5 PIEROGIES - smoked creme fraiche, caviar, chive. This was our second favorite. Everything was very good. The caviar wasn't great it didn't taste fresh.Rating: 4/5 GRILLED OCTOPUS - tomatillo, chili, lime. Not good the octopus was not grilled long enough more like seared.Rating: 2/5MARGHERITA - mozzarella, tomato, basil. The pizza was very thin and somewhat soggy had no crisp whatsoever which is odd when the dough is that thin.Rating: 3/5MUSHROOM & TRUFFLE - arugula, fontina, sherry. Pizza also very thin, soggy and super heavy there was too many mushrooms which caused the heavy sogginess. I also don't recall seeing any arugula. Rating: 2/5ROASTED SALMON - gigante bean, andouille, dill. The salmon was completely raw, even after we returned and pointed it out it seemed to be only seared after it came back the second time. Not good at all actually disgusting.Rating: 1/5STEAK FRITES - chimichurri, black garlic, n.y. strip. Ordered medium served rare it was seared and purple inside also not NY strip but ribeye. Had to also return. Also not served with true chimichurri. Their chimichurri is this disgusting butter with parsley flakes and red pepper flakes in it. Rating: 1/5

Finally I had the chance to have the brunch buffet. I highly recommend making a reservation. The front seating are is very pretty, adorned with hanging greeneries. The main dining area inside is dimmer and has the rustic ambiance. You can custom order fresh omelette made in front of you. Next to it there's juicy prime rib ready to cut. It's more to medium well with nice crispy top. Sausages and bacon look scrumptious. Bagels and toast are available for your carb needs. There are some pasta options, salad, broccoli, yogurt with toppings. My favorite is the caponata. It has tender eggplant, packed with flavor. I use it to my eggplant sandwich and orecchiette. Desserts are served in mini sizes: cannoli, salted caramel muffins, hazelnuts donuts, cinnamon buns, chocolate croissants. All of them are divine. Shrimp cocktails are large and fresh. The tomato pie has a nice crust. The fruits are also nicely sliced and fresh. Everything is beautifully plated and looks enticing My only disappointment is that the decaf coffee is really watered down. Noah our waiter is very attentive and nice.Carl, the manager, is friendly and down to earth.

Cane here for Happy Hour recently, and as always, this place doesn't disappoint. I got the pizza of the day, poke bowl, burrata, and chicken sandwich (yes I shared I'm not that fat). All of it was good. ALL OF IT. I like the pizza of the day idea because it always changes, and if it's made here, odds are it's gonna slap lol. The service is great. If your gonna come here for happy Hour, do it when it starts so your not stuck waiting for seating. This place has the food, vibes, and great service. Bless yourself and check it out!

Harp & Crown is such a solid option for dinner, brunch, happy hour, or drinks at the bar. I love the design vibe inside: super sexy and well-appointed while still feeling homey. I have two chief complaints:1) In a game of never have I ever, I could 100% use the phrase "never have I ever gone to the correct door to enter Harp & Crown on the first try." The entrance is a double door situation that leads you to the host stand, but is draped in curtains so you can't see it from the street level. I could probably have a great afternoon standing on Sansom St watching people have the hardest time attempting to simply enter a restaurant. There might be a small sign but it does not signify where to enter. Literally such a small, silly thing...but I have to imagine I am not the first person to give this feedback. 2) I've had experiences where bartenders at Happy Hour are much more attentive to their friends/regulars, so it can feel a little crony-ish.Other than that, get ready for an amazing experience. I've tried the happy hour lamb meatballs, burrata app, and pizzas, but the thing I can never skip here is their veggie-based small plates. All of them are iconic but my favorite is the sesame roasted eggplant. I think about this dish often and can't wait until the next time I get to enjoy it with friends. I've never been in for their brunch buffet but need to get here ASAP. Great for groups, great for celebrations, and great for the downstairs bowling area that I have yet to check out. Enjoy!

We had dinner with our daughter at the Harp & Crown this evening. What a lovely spot and the food and service was top notch. Big shout out to our waitress, Alexis, who made sure our food was delivered to our table hot, and our glasses kept full. That is...once we found the front door...lol.We decided to start our meal by sharing the pork and broccoli rabe pizza. The toppings were wonderful and the crust was perfectly cooked in the wood oven. Excellent bite, and it looked like we weren't the only ones enjoying their wonderful pizzas tonight.I ordered the salmon surrounded by gigantes beans and andouille sausage. I have to admit I was disappointed. Disappointed I didn't order two of these entrees. I consider myself to be a salmon, and bean, connoisseur. This might be the most perfectly cooked salmon I've ever eaten. And the beans almost brought tears to my eyes. Yes...it was that good.My daughter enjoyed the Pork Schnitzel and my wife the burger. The Schnitzel looked like it came directly from a German kitchen, thinly sliced and perfectly pan fried. The spaetzle was a perfect complement to this traditional dish.My wife loved the burger, although it was so big it required cutlery intervention. The patty was cooked perfectly, but her initial gasp was triggered by the fries. I haven't seen anyone so excited by fries, however after she surrendered a few to me, I understood her feeling. They are perfectly cooked and nicely salted.Need I say, we will define be back. All five stars are well earned!!

How does this place only have 4.1 stars? I tried 8 things on their menu and loved all of them. Fantastic ingredients, preparation, flavors. Cool space, nice bar, great service. Reasonably priced. I mean I looovved my meal here.

My friend and I went out for drinks and appetizers at Harp & Crown. For drinks, we both ordered the Meridian Peak. While it was good, I would have preferred a stronger tequila presence and a hint of spice, which was notably absent. However, the presentation was good. For appetizers, we ordered the chicken dumplings, pierogies, cheesesteak egg rolls, and ricotta and fig toast. The chicken dumplings were decent, offering a nice spice and ginger flavor, nothing extraordinary. The pierogies stood out as the best amongst the appetizers. They had a nice char, complemented by some kind of whipped cream and caviar. The flavors were excellent, though they were served at room temp, which was a minor drawback. The cheesesteak egg rolls were delicious- super crispy with great flavor and I love when restaurants serve them with spicy ketchup. The ricotta and fig toast was also enjoyable but probably wouldn't order it again. The ambiance was nice and cozy, but the air conditioning was so intense that it became difficult to sit and enjoy our meal without shivering. Despite this, our waitress was very nice and the food arrived in a reasonable time. I would go back and explore the entrees on the menu if I'm ever in the area again.

Harp and Crown is known for having some of the best happy hour deals in Philly! Each plate was only $7! However, I was a bit disappointed by the food given how hyped this restaurant is. The daily pizza (potato, bacon, and cheese on white sauce) was completely flavorless, salmon poke was tiny and not fresh, and wings had a weird tasting sauce and a bit dry (like buffalo but not exactly). Chicken sandwich was tiny with a tiny piece of chicken, but I did love the crunch and the flavors. The Mac and cheese was actually delicious though! Pasta shapes coated the sauce super nicely - would definitely come back just for this!

We found this place from Instagram, booked a table for the 4-6pm happy hour at 5pm. AtmosphereWhen we arrived, the atmosphere was very cute and trendy. We entered through the greenhouse room which was a very chic cafe style vibe of tables and plants in a very lit space from the glass walls/doors. From there you enter the dining area and bar which are very dark and chic, with history style theme decorating the walls.ServiceWe were seated at a large round dining table right at the entrance of the dining room. We were given the full menus and told happy hour was only served in the greenhouse room and bar. Our waitress kindly asked if we could move and were able to accommodate us for happy hour at a lovely table by the bar. FoodThe happy hour menu is fantastic. They have a white and red option for wine and 2 cocktail options. The food menu for happy hour had a large selection with much variety. Everything was very good and the drinks were surprisingly good. Very very good quality and taste for the price!!SummaryGo here for the vibes and happy hour. Perfect place for a girls night or date night. It was fantastic and the service is super friendly!
