Traveling the country in search of dim sum restaurants I found myself on an unexpected road trip after a flight cancellation. Driving through Atlanta I came across this restaurant on a search of places that serve all day dim sum. Unfortunately the selection was limited to only a few steamed items for dinner service, with none of the fried/baked items being available. The har gow was decent but the siu mai was a bit dense. The dinner items were excellent and very authentic Cantonese cuisine. Service was also fantastic considering it was close to closing time. Overall an excellent restaurant for Cantonese cuisine, but limited in terms of dim sum if not coming during lunchtime hours.

Attended a Lunar New Year gala here last week and it was wonderful. Hadn't been back here in a while since there are so many places to choose from, but glad I was back. The restaurant decor is quite nice, not a typical Asian restaurant style decor though. The service was very good and the food was delicious.

Went on a Friday at about 4 PM. This restaurant has dim sum in the name and advertises dim sum ALL DAY. I guess technically they are correct, but what they do not say is that after lunch time dim sum is very limited.... a fair number of the menu items are not available at all in the afternoon, and the server said some others that were still available could be seen sitting on a hotel pan or tower warmer covered in plastic from the morning -- what was left there, was available. Very disappointing. We ate several offerings and drank a pot of tea and were gone in 30 minutes. What we had was fine. But it was not the experience we had hoped for. Prices were fine. If I am back in that part of Georgia again, I guess we would try it -- when they first open.

Really great Dim Sum ( Chinese tapas ). Love the hot and fresh dumplings. So much variety even in desserts. Usual siu mai, haw gao, sticky rice, crepe noodles, congee, scallop dumplings, different types of bao all were so delicious and steaming hot. Then the desserts Coconut gelatin squares, bakery sweets, even had a chocolate mousse there. Love the roaming carts. Service was very good. Always a server around for more tea or wanting to order special items. Beautifully decorated with those large gorgeous crystal chandeliers and the large screen in the background depicting famous places in China was very striking. Great setting for a wedding or a milestone birthday dinner. Spacious and the gold chairs definitely add a touch of class. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place and will definitely come back.

I recently had the privilege of ordering a tasty Uber Eats delivered meal from here. I've been meaning to try this place for 3 years now as I live nearby but just never got to it until this past Saturday. I thought I'd give my sick hubby a break from cooking for my mom and I who are both down at the moment with other health issues. I had a 40 percent off Uber Eats coupon and ordered in the app without any problems. I was happy to see chow fun here, as I have not had the noodle dish since leaving my birthplace of Hawaii 3 years ago. I know I can make it at home. It's been on my list to cook, along with a lot of other favorites I've been making lately. However, it's always nice to see a comfort food you can order conveniently when you're down. I got the egg drop soup, beef chow fun (a little pricy at $20 for the portion, but everything has come up everywhere lately), mushu chicken, and a veggie egg roll. There are many other items I wanted to try, but I went with what I was craving at the moment for brunch. I like that everything was securely packaged, hot and fresh, and they gave a lot of condiments without asking. The restaurant was even nice enough to send a message on Uber Eats after the order, thanking me for the positive review I left. In terms of the food: the egg drop soup and veggie egg roll were great - standard, but great accompaniments to the meal, the mushu chicken was flavorful - I would get it again, and the beef chow fun was cooked perfectly. Honestly, my only complaints were that there was no hoisin sauce included with the mushu and that the beef in the chow fun could have definitely used some salt and pepper. Thank goodness I had some hoisin sauce on hand or I'd be very sad, as it is one of the main reasons I even order mushu dishes - for that flavor. And the chow fun was readily fixed with some soy sauce, of course. Overall, it was a great meal though. I would love to try their fried rice and other dim sum items along with maybe their veggie chow fun. I would recommend them for takeout or delivery if you're in the area.

Ai yah! I'm not often disappointed with having dim sum, but our experience on Saturday was not a happy valley. The first red flag was the large restaurant was nearly empty at 11:30 on a Saturday morning. The good dim sum houses are bustling on weekends. We were seated immediately, and the carts loaded with dim sums arrived soon after. The usual items were present and they looked right. But every dish was lukewarm or downright cold! One problem seems to be the dishes are cooked and then staged in a tower warmer (in plain sight in the dining room). Because the restaurant was not crowded, the dishes did not turnover, So the carts were loaded with food that was not freshly cooked, and the device failed to keep the dishes hot. Cold dim sum is a turn off man.On the positive note, since the restaurant was empty we were seated immediately. We were not rushed to leave, and the restaurant was quiet so we were able to enjoy nice table conversation with our friends.

Heading home and drove past Happy Valley and we thought let's give it a try. First impression was that we were walking into an event center not a restaurant. This place is huge! I could easily see having a corporate dinner or company awards ceremony here. We can imagine that the Asian community has small concerts or dances here. This is our first venture for dim sum since moving here (5 yrs ago!! HA!) First up was a cart of 'appetizers' (not sure what they are really called) and we just selected the taro dumplings. They were really good - crispy light not too greasy and soft/fluffy inside.Next we placed our order of a few different selections of dim sum and hubby got an entree. We selected crab dumplings, siu mai, beef short ribs, and the scallop in garlic sauce. We ordered the clams with black bean sauce but they were out of clams. They suggested mussels and we agreed. They were the green type, our least favorite kind. Out of all the dishes these were the most disappointing. Everything else was great though and we'll be back. Looking forward to it! We started out good with getting the first snap, but once the rest of the food arrived it smelled so good we just dug in...oops.

This is my favorite dim sum restaurant of all time. My family has returned to this place for nearly 10 years because we love it so much. I highly recommend the short ribs and siu mai at least. The service is some of the best I've had at a dim sum restaurant, especially from the kind old man. Don't be intimidated by the spacious venue and fancy decorations, or the fact that there seems to be a lack of customers to fill a very large restaurant. I will always be a fan of Happy Valley!

One of the top dim sum joints in ATL.Today was our second time back and unlike the first time, we paced ourselves and didn't gorge. However, we did learn which dishes we liked from our first visit. Here are my current favorites:- There's this plain fried donut like pastries (comes in three) that has the texture of mochi and has a small amount of pork (I believe?). This is my all time favorite and better eaten hot.- Chicken congee soothes your soul. - Anything shrimp is good like the har gow, shrimp flat noodle rolls, and my favorite is the shrimp and chives dumplings. Also, they just added a fried shrimp rolls and it was so good and had so much shrimp filling. The fried part just became a tad overwhelming though.- Taro dumpling is a piece of art. It looks unique and has layers of texture. It has chicken filling I believe and the middle is soft and dense from the taro, with flaky outer cover. Yum!- For dessert, egg tarts of the sesame balls are a must!We still haven't tried everything but will continue to visit to do so~One thing we really like about this place is the friendly staff, which I think is hard to find for dim sum joints since they're usually chaotic. Also, if you come at the right time, it's not too overly crowded!Aside from dim sum, I also came here for one of those AAPI banquets long time ago through AT&T function and I recall all the main dishes being amazing as well!

It's been a while since I've felt compelled to write a review, but this place has earned it, and for all the right reasons. My son wanted dim sum for his 11th birthday. We live in Knoxville, and that's just not a thing. We were in Alpharetta for his hockey tournament and we're headed out of town when my wife found this place online. This was a 30 minute drive in the WRONG DIRECTION from driving home. To say that this put me in a bad mood would undersell the situation. Then we arrived. My wife and I used to consider ourselves hole-inthe-wall connoisseurs before we had children and this place took us back. Chinese family serving authentic Chinese food in Chinese fashion to primarily Chinese patrons. Each plate was true to form. No menu necessary- the carts come to you and entice your senses. Given the excitement of everyone at our table (wife, kids.....myself) we went quite a bit overboard on our selection. We picked up nearly every offering but the congee and chicken feet. Our table was a virtual mountain of tapas sized delectables. We gorged ourselves, knowing that it will easily be months before we see dim sum again. It was all delicious! Now, not everything was perfect. The ornamentation was a remnant of a prior establishment that must have been "fat Greek wedding". Coliseums and statues with large gaudy chandeliers did not esthetically jive with the food. Not a big deal. I also grade restaurants on the cleanliness and functionality of their restroom, and theirs were unacceptable. Minus a star there. But would I go back? Was the extra travel time worth it? Yes and yes. We travel to Atlanta periodically for hockey and this spot has earned a permanent place in our rotation. The classic presentation of delicious dim sum with great service, reasonable pricing and cultural flavor. My family left stuffed and happy!
