I came to Hando's on a whim for dinner. It was really chill vibes and seemed to be a good mix of regulars and newcomers.I had a steak and egg maki, scallop skewers, and a yellow maki. The food was really filling and flavorful. My favorite was the yellow tail maki. The cake at the end was a really nice touch as well. They have a good selection of vegetarian items which I would be interested to try with my daughter.I also kept hearing different music from what was playing and found out there is a speakeasy (with a front window) connected with a different drink menu.

Hello world,Hando offers a delightful sushi experience with its standout Ocean Trout Hand Roll stealing the show. The ambiance is captivating, creating an immersive dining atmosphere. Additionally, adjacent to Hando is a chic bar, adding to the allure and making it a must-visit spot for those with some leisure time to spare. Thanks,R

It was my first time coming in, and I came strickely for the handrolls. You walk in and wait to be seated at the hostess stand. You also pay-out at the end at the hostess stand. It's set up like a typical sushi counter. The servers were really pushing for guests to order their cocktails, which they said they are known for. But I came to eat. Maybe I would come back during their daily special time-frame 3p to 6p (happy hour). After getting some info from their server, I ordered.HR special Tsukemono - great start and full of flavor. My only critique is that they should add actual fish to it. It would be a standout.4 pack HR 1- Spicy tuna, it was fine. HR 2 Salmon- the quality of it was great, so this was a great bite, nice and fatty.HR 3 Blue Crab- my fav of the set. Loads of fresh crab, yuzo tobiko, and cilantro adds just what it needs to make it feel complete. HR Oyster- it was fine. I hear the HR Ocean trout is yum, if I'm in the area, may come back!

Came here on a weekday for lunch. The restaurant is pretty small and all seating are at the u shaped bar with sushi chef and host working in the middle. The interior style has a modern twist to the Japanese sushi restaurant. We started out with couple appetizers, brussels sprouts, waygu gyoza, duck gyoza, and edamame. The Brussels sprouts were crunchy and nicely flavored, everything else tasted like they could be coming from the frozen aisle of H-Mart. For the main, we ordered uni bite, yellowtail sashimi, salmon sashimi and various hand rolls. Most of the rolls are 2.5 or 3 out of 5 for me. For the price point, I expected better quality fish and better handling of the hand roll, but the experience felt more like watching someone making burrito at Chipotle in front of me.They do have an extensive collection of Japanese beers and sake, but I wish the temperature of the beer could be cooler. Overall, nice concept and fits wells in the Heights, but I wouldn't recommend this place over other spots with similar price point in town.

Such a cool concept! It's bar service. Definitely good for only 2 people deep IMO but do you! The drinks are really good too--I wish I could remember which one I had. It was tropical with a purple flower in it

Great go to for good handroll sushi. Ambiance is great and styling fits the mood. Limited seats and parking can be a pain, but fairly common in some areas of the heights. Service is good. Highly recommend any specials or their oyster roll.

A small, intimate space that pairs well with the paced menu and ambiance. It's hard to beat for a unique sushi experience in the Heights.

Have been hearing about this place for years and finally went tonight. Hand rolls were 10/10 for me so fresh and delicious, the blue crab hand roll and the shrimp katsu HR were my personal favorites. Service was incredible they were checking on us constantly and chefs were so nice they make the HRs in front of you. There is not much seating inside, there is only bar top seating. Parking lot is also pretty small with limited spaces. Happy hour is from 3-6pm and cocktails are $7 and bar eats $5. This is definitely going to become a regular spot for me I can't wait to return!

I came here on a Friday night and was super excited to finally try Hando! The parking lot is VERY limited and you'd have to wait for a spot to open up. This restaurant doesn't take reservations as well, so I went ahead and put my name on the list at the host stand and waited for 30-45 minutes. The music is super loud to where our party has trouble talking to each other and our server taking our order. However, the food came out pretty fast as the chef makes it right in front of you and place it one at a time on your board. My favorite dishes are definitely the wagyu gyoza and this roll that they has on the special menu. I forgot what the exact name was but it had shrimp in it and it had a nice kick in it. Additionally, the spicy tuna one. My least favorites were the crab options and the shrimp katsu; it didn't taste authentic and could be skipped out on. Overall, I'm so happy I finally tried this place. The tab came out to be $70 for 2 people, and tbh we didn't really leave the restaurant full, but content; which is the whole concept of these type of places. Nonetheless, I can't wait to be back!

Easy 5 stars for this wonderful experience. Solo self care date to try something new and stumbled upon this place in the heights. Brightly lit kitchen/bar with a great ambiance and atmosphere. This is not a large restaurant and reservations are recommended but since I was alone, I was accommodated quickly. I sat at the bar area but there was a back room which seemed to have more casual, lower table seating. Highly recommend the bar. This is a hand rolled sushi bar with a great menu! I wanted to try so much! I was told the best value was to get a full service which is 3,4 or 5 rolls. These cannot be changed or substituted but I think the selections were perfect. I got the 4 rolls; fried oyster, delish. Salmon, not a fan of cold salmon but still good. Blue crab, very tasty! And spicy tuna, chefs kiss! The staff was amazing and very on top of taking care of everyone without making the place seem "busy" if that makes sense. I loved that they had purse hooks under the bar. I did try to connect to WiFi but I didn't see it pop up so I didn't try nor did I ask. Restrooms were fairly clean. Single units for his and hers. Bar space was kept very clean at all times and they put your sushi on a platter directly in from of you. I feel their prices were extremely fair! The full service actually saves you money as individual sushi was between $5-10. In total I spent for myself (did not have a drink) under $30. Amazing! There is also a designated parking lot about 60 feet to the right of the restaurant where you can park for free. Loved this so much. Will absolutely return. Seemed like a great date spot .
