Handel's Homemade Ice Cream

This was my first time trying Handel's. I observed a really good selection of ice cream flavors and mix-ins. I enjoyed the Cookie Dough Hurricane, which had both chocolate chips, and of course, cookie dough. There was not enough cookie dough however, and too many chocolate chips, but otherwise good. Would also be nice if they had a drive through. Also not clear that they have trained the employees to have a positive demeanor or upbeat presentation when it comes to customer service. However, overall, I enjoyed it.

The service was fine. Many choices. Order at a walk up window, there were an abundance of employees as if they anticipated a rush of customers on a Monday. I got a Reeces hurricane, similar to a blizzard but I am not a fan, super melted and I hate melty ice cream. My husband got scooped raspberry in a cup and he gave it a 4 out of 5. Perhaps I will come back and try a cone but I saw another person with a cone and saw it was soft looking and quickly melting so it's not your typical hand scooped ice cream that has a thick frozen consistency to it.

First off, it was hard to find this place at night, since the building sign lights were not working. I thought it was closed, I walked to the window and I didn't see anyone inside, I had to walk away and come back before someone was inside. (Outside only Handel's). The kids working there were polite, I ordered Graham central station and blueberry cobbler by the pint, I also got a butterfinger hurricane. It took them a while to get the order going, maybe new people? It would be nice if they illuminated the sign. Would make the place a lot easier to find. But the flavors are always amazing! Will always go to this company, just this place was a bit slow.

Good homemade ice cream in interesting flavors. Their small size is huge, with 3 full scoops. It's too much for one person but they won't mix 2 flavors in a small. That's just them being greedy and trying to upsell a medium, so minus one star for that lack of basic service. Also, the display versions of their dipped cones have 3x as much chocolate as what they actually give out.

Wow so many flavors of ice cream and generous portions! We stumbled upon this ice cream shop trying to kill some time and it happened to be a place my talks about in Dallas all the time. You walk up to a window to order and they have various cones or you can get ice cream in a cup. We ordered the strawberry ice cream and mango sorbet. Both were huge and really good. We would order them again. Only draw back is it is outdoors, so when it is hot outside it will be awful in the Houston heat. Also, view is of a busy street which isn't so great. The ice cream is good though, so would go again the next time we are on this side of town.

We love Handel's. Without doubt it is the best ice cream in the Spring/Woodlands area.There's a lot they do right to make their ice cream so yummy. First off.. the fat content is probably off the chart. It is super creamy. They also serve it at the perfect temperature. Whether you order it in the dead of summer, or on a chilly day in January, it's always ready to melt off the cone.Our favorite order is "Monkey Business" on top with "Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownie" on bottom. The Monkey business has banana, caramel, and is just ridiculously good. The chocolate speaks for itself. Mix the two and you have heaven in a cone.I love to change things up and have ordered almost everything on their menu. I have never been disappointed. My only complain is the place in Spring doesn't have any indoor seating. The outside is not always clean and it can make it hard to hang out and enjoy the ice cream with friends and family. But this is ice cream. If they sold this stuff in half gallons like Blue Bell I'd fill a freezer with it.

Great service every time. Will always come back for our ice cream needs rain or shine.

BEST Ice cream in the area hands down! Better prices than similar Ice Cream offerings locally. Extensive list of flavors, something for everyone! I'm so glad Handel's is so close to us because everything is DELICIOUS. Delicious and not overdone. Some places with a large variety of flavors add too much to them. These guys keep it simple so the combinations work. There's many ways to enjoy your favorite flavors. Order by pint, dish, cone (waffle, cake, sugar), Hurricane (like a Blizzard), or have a super thick shake. The sampler is a great value if you can't decide. It's also a great option to order and bring home to have some for later if you're ordering for one. They've even got Dogsters for your favorite furry companion. Our favorite flavors: Chocolate Cake Batter- 100% reminiscent of licking the beaters while baking with Memaw. Strawberry Cheesecake Chunk- Filled with CHUNKS of actual cheesecake, graham cracker crust and all. So decadent. Blue Monster- Blue Vanilla Ice Cream with Oreo and Chocolate Chip Cookies mixed in in perfect balance. My little boy loves it and I love to steal a bite lol. Pistachio- I ADORE THIS. it's not overly sweet like some brands and it's got the perfect amount of almonds. French Silk Pie- The title explains it perfectly. Tastes just like a slice of pie. Deliciously chocolate and perfectly rich. As far as ambience, this is a walk up and order, not an indoor restaurant. There are tables outside for when the weather's right. If it's cold or rainy just do what we do, grab extra napkins and enjoy it the car with some good tunes. Service-we've been there when it's packed and when it's quiet. They were welcoming, helpful and kind every single time. Before our first visit I called them to get some information and the guy on the phone took the time to answer my questions and offer up lots of info. Hit up this delightful spot anytime you've got an ice cream craving!! You'll be sure to love them as much as we do. Open til 10pm. ENJOY!!!

This was our first time at Handel's. We had to try it. I mean, who doesn't like ice cream?!Pros: There was a good selection of ice cream flavors, milkshakes, floats, and malts. We came at a good time because there was no line. The Cookie Dough Hurricane was good. I liked the chunks of cookie dough and chocolate chips. Cons: The decor and outdoor seating was slight. There were only 2-3 outside tables. Also, I noticed there wasn't a drive thru option at this location. I definitely prefer Brusters Ice Cream when it comes to presentation, ambiance, and convenience.
