Chicken Fried Steak
Steak sandwich $20. Very low quality steak. And the whole restaurant smelled like a mix of sewage and mildew.
Fried mushrooms. $8
(Not) chicken piccata. Zero lemon or capers. More of a butter cream sauce. $23. Not great. 4/10

Steak was perfectly cooked Pittsburgh medium rare! The mixed veggies were meh, definitely not fresh, would've preferred fresh or at least seasoned. Nonetheless our experience was good, service was great and the Manager came by twice to make sure that we had a great experience. Clean restaurant, great bar and we will be back!

We used to come to Gus's all the time when it was in the older building. We haven't been back in years but I was excited. I truly wish we had gone somewhere else. First, the hostess was acting like she was being put out by having to put two tables together for our party of 6. She kept snapping at the other hostess, who I think she was training. Our waitress (Serena, I think is her name) was very attentive to getting our drinks, salads and appetizers. However, when it took 30 minutes to get our food she only came around once and letUs know it was almost finished. Even when we got our food, the seasoning was lackluster. This was very disappointing to me especially since they noLonger have their BBQ. It was also VERY COLD in the restaurant which made it hard to sit and enjoy the company of the people at our table.

The steaks, chicken fried steaks, and the burger are great. Salad is pretty plain. The baked potato as a side is awesome. Don't care for the bbq baked potato if they still have it as the chopped beef is prepared in advance so you can't get it without bbq sauce or control the amount of sauce. The service is good on the days they are open. They are closed on Sunday and Monday which seems to be the days I want to go. I usually get take out but the ambiance when I go in and pick it up, seems nice and quiet.

This is a hidden gem. I've seen it on Yelp and drive by it like 100 times and never noticed it my wife and I had a hard time picking what we wanted from the menu. We ended up splitting a steak and a chucking fried chicken both were very good.

I was in Texas City and picked up a friend for lunch and bright him to Gus'. This is there third location in Texas City as their original off of 9th Street burnt down years back and they opened a place on Palmer Highway closer to the new HEB. Which was a nice place. Now they have moved across the street in the strip center where the Kroger and Antonini's Subs are located. It's really very nice inside and had a nice ambience! I've had their steaks and seafood and it's all really good! We would sometimes get Ribeye steak sandwiches delivered to our place of work and they were always so good!!! This day though we came in and decided to have their Cheese Burgers with a side of fries! Our waitress was very good and attentive checking on us often refilling or drinks as needed! They're burgers very good, big with plenty of cheese and condiments! Was not disappointed at all, great lunch here!!! This place has been a staple in Texas City for years and it's still good!!!

We were excited to try this place for a late lunch. There was one table seated and another leaving when we arrived. We were seated and sat for 10 minutes without anyone even asking for a drink order. The hostess was at the hostess's desk, and a server was at the wait station. When the hostess walked past us to clear a table without even a glance to acknowledge our presence, we left.

Food was above average. Service and the general feel of the restaurant was really nice. Our waitress was very attentive. Our food Was piping hot. I liked that. Our salad plates were chilled and I liked that as well. Salad was crispy and fresh. I had the fried catfish and did not like all the brown meat left on the filet when fried. I always cut this out when I fry fish at home. Otherwise we had a good dinner out of town while traveling.

Should've turned around as soon as I saw the paper sign on the front door that said, 'We're open!' Interior is dark, musty, and rug is FILTHY! I'm talking I thought it was dark grey/ charcoal... and when you look by the base of the walls, it's tan!Waitress was nice. She really tried. Kept refilling our drinks and was attentive.Fried mushrooms were good. Salad average. Stuffed jalapeños were apparently from a freezer. Steak was more on the medium side than medium rare. Chopped sirloin was bland. Closer to medium rare, but burnt on the outside. Trying to figure out how to achieve that. Mushroom gravy was clearly a brown gravy commercial mix from a bag/ box, with a couple slices of mushroom tossed in it. Had 2 bites of the chopped sirloin and quit. I took it in a box to go because I didn't want to embarrass my coworker or the waitress. Looked for a homeless dog to feed it to.I was completely embarrassed that my coworker came clear across the state to be disappointed by this place. Should've taken her to the Beyond Burger again instead.Very grossed out and disappointed. Gus' Steakhouse is really just a local bar with a fancy name that's misleading with filthy floors.

Just ordered a chicken swiss sandwich to go. Came with only chicken no bacon or swiss cheese and then the chicken look like it was split in half. Come on man I know y'all better then that. My first time y'all screwed me.
