Gryphon Cafe

one of my favorite coffee shops in west chester! the barista's are always so kind and you can almost always find a place to sit. the cafe is well lit and generally just has good vibes for chatting or working. if you are getting food i recommend getting an egg sandwich. you can tell everything is fresh, which isn't always the case at coffee shops. they are fairly priced too!

Super cozy cafe in the heart of West Chester! My friend and I decided to meet here on a chilly Saturday afternoon. It was lively inside and filled with customers coming and going, but we were still able to order our drinks quickly and find seating. I was drawn by the butterfly pea photos from other reviewers. However, their menu appears to change as it was not available during my visit. I was pleased with my alfajores latte though. It was light and fragrant with notes of orange zest and buttery sugar cookies. My friend had the maple sage, and he told me that while he could taste the sage, it wasn't overpowering or too sweet. If you like lattes with flavors that are a bit more unusual, a cozy atmosphere, and a spot of friendly conversation with the folks behind the counter, you'll enjoy the Gryphon Cafe. 100% stopping by the next time I'm in town again!

Seats are the most uncomfortable, back-straining, ass-numbing constructs imaginable.The coffee is bad, the lattes are just milk, the cashiers are rude, snide and condescending, and the to-go cups disintegrate within hours. Thank goodness there are other coffeeshops opening up in the city

if you're looking for a place to study/do work, i'd definitely recommend giving this place a try. there's lots of seating available and when we went, it was not too busy but also not eerily quiet. the cafe has a pretty warm cozy vibe. they have the standard coffee menu along with some pastries and cafe basics. i love that they also feature a seasonal menu (of course i got the pumpkin spice latte). they also sell merch, coffee, tea, books, equipment, etc. their baristas are super friendly and welcoming! street parking can be a hit or miss, but luckily when we went there was actually a decent amount of open street parking spots + the meters are pretty cheap. i haven't been to the other locations but there's also a location in philly and wayne!

Spontaneous morning. Decided to just randomly ventured out my vicinity and counted on Yelp for a good cup of jo. The Mister was a bit skeptical, but we both ended enjoying our coffees. For sure met our expectations better than we both had anticipated. Light roast with hint of sweetness and not too overly heavy with their flavor syrups. Lavender was a hit for me! Cafe was very clean and with simple decor atmosphere. Love the displays of local artworks hanging on the walls. A little kink on customer service as it was quite busy. However, non the less will be patronizing again.

Great coffee and cool vibe. I enjoyed with a camembert and fig jam toast which was the right balance of sweet and savory. Would definitely go there again if in the area.

I stopped in for an iced matcha tea & the fig & camembert toast. It was tasty, but I had trouble finishing it all.

Very cute interior with decent drinks and lots of vegan-friendly pastries! The vegan coffee cake was my favorite. Plenty of coffee and espresso options and they had alternative milks as well. Latte was oddly cold when served but flavors were good. Location is very convenient in the heart of town! Quite a few people were doing work, seemed like a quiet place to get work done!

Coffee/Food: excellent, all of it. The coffee will knock your socks off. This is European-style cafe, not Starbucks. Tons of flavor and uniqueness. The teas also outstanding. Try the almond vanilla. It will change your life. Service/Ambiance: Staff are attentive and service-oriented, and oftentimes the owner is there and he's great. It's clear that he wants to make sure that everyone who enters his establishment walks away happy and content. The ambiance is perfect if you're in a hurry or want to hang out. It's a terrific place to meet a friend or colleague for coffee, or get some work done on your laptop. It's not empty, but not loud either. Just the right balance of calm, in a social environment. I love this place, I'd go everyday if I loved closer by.

We travelled to West Chester specifically for lunch at Gryphon Cafe because we usually love it there. However our experience this weekend wasn't what we've known previously.The mochas we ordered were great as usual, however the food was greesy and underwhelming. We ordered two paninis and there was hardly any cheese or meat on either one. It was barely edible. Then they give you chips instead of salad now. Disappointing.
