I checked out Grilldabeast last night at the Atlanta Food Truck Park on Howell Mill Rd. (http://www.yelp.com/events/atlanta-atlanta-food-truck-park-uye-part-2). Grilldabeast is, I assume, a play on the word wildebeest. I asked one of the owners what theme his food truck has and he explained to me it's street food favorites "with a twist." I believe it's a fairly new addition to the ATL food truck scene. No more than a month or two old.The small truck is painted all black. The menu consisted of an Avocado BLT, Chicken Shawarma, Peachy Pork (pork loin BBQ sandwich), and Smoke-Fried Wings (mango Thai chili glaze, avocado ranch). Sides included a Panko Avocado basket, Smoked Tomato Dill Hummus, Chips, and Slaw. Mains were about $7-8 each and sides $5 and less. Drinks (mint iced tea and bottled water) were $2.I tried the Chicken Shawarma ($8) plus a mint iced tea ($2). Shawarmas are Middle Eastern sandwiches or wraps that contain meat, typically off of a spit, along with a variety of garnishes such as tabbouleh salad, tomatoes, cumcumbers, etc. Grillabeast's Chicken Shawarma is huge. It's served open-faced, so it's kind of like eating a giant soft taco. The Chicken Shawarma contains pieces of marinated char-grilled chicken breast, tzatziki (Greek yogurt sauce), Mediterranean salsa (tomatoes, cucumber), lettuce, and feta cheese all inside pita bread. Overall, not bad. It was certainly filling and the ingredients were fresh enough. If anything, I thought the wrap could have used more tzatziki sauce because I love that stuff -- it's minty and refreshing, but I can see why they don't add more sauce as the wrap would get quite messy to eat. The shawarma came with a side of house-made chips, also not bad. They were thin and more on the soft rather than crispy side.Mint iced tea was pretty simple. Not much sugar added if any. $2 for one Styrofoam cupful may be asking a tad too much, but whatever.Staff was very nice and my food, which was made-to-order, came out fast. Credit cards are accepted, though I'm not sure if there's a minimum.

My review is for the loaded curly fries. My sister brought me to Atlanta's Food Truck park while I was visiting from San Francisco. One truck we tried was Grilldabeast (duh). I'm not going to reinvent the wheel here. Homie below me has all of the stats about menus and prices, so check out his review for more detailed info about things of that nature. My sis and I decided to split the loaded curly fries; Grilldabeast was our appetizer truck before we got down and dirty noshing on tacos, burritos, Jamaican jerk chicken, creole pretzels and popcorn, and custard. If my memory services me correctly, the fries were $5 and they were the perfect thing to get our food coma on and popping. Imagine: piping hot seasoned curly fries, ladened with fresh crispy bacon, and thick cheese sauce. I mean, can you REALLY go wrong with cheese, curly fries, and BACON? No, my dear Yelper, you cannot.Service was on point, food was fresh and made to order. We received our fries within 5-8 minutes.

Stumbled across Grilldabeast whilst downtown for a meeting. The building I was in was right across the street from Underground and they were parked in a line with several other food trucks. I really dig their logo and their menu out-shined the rest of the options by a long shot. They had a few options available -- gyro, smoked wings, curly fries, and a few others. I went with the chicken gyro and pita fries. Where the gyro was pretty standard and actually pretty good, the pita fries were really interesting and actually pretty good. Flattened, fried strips of pita served with tzatziki. It was a gustery blustery day, but I walked down the streets of downtown happily with my prized lunch. It was damn good!I'd definitely check these guys out again if I were to find them around town or at a food truck gathering.

When I visited the Tucker Farmer's Market on the first Thursday of the month, I was excited to try Grilldabeast because I have heard good things about it. The brothers that run the truck handed out a sample of their Smoked wings coated in Thai chile sauce glaze, and I have to admit that I was hooked immediately in a very unhealthy way. I have a weak spot for chile sauce. Anyway, my friend and I split ten wings and a small fry. The service was really friendly, and the food came out quick and fresh. These were the most interesting wings I have tasted. The outside was crunchy and smoky, and when you bit into it, it was moist and delicious on the inside. Unlike other wings that simply dissolve your tongues ability to taste, the flavor of the wings actually came out through the mild spiciness, making it a pleasant change from traditional wings. I really love traditional wings too, but these wings were so delicious on their own that they didn't require any ranch or blue cheese. We also got a small order of curly fries, which were great - but you can't go wrong with curly fries. Ever. I really want to try there zucchini fries! Overall, a really cool truck to stop at!

Hands down one of favorite food trucks. I've made my way through almost the entire menu at this point and I have yet to be disappointed. I would particularly recommend the avocado Blt and the wings. The crew is friendly, always helpful, and appear the be very passionate about what they do. If you see them pop up at the food truck park, head down there ASAP. You and your taste buds can thank me later.

It was one of the tastiest smoked wings I've ever had. It was as if my mouth had attended a music concert. The sweet graze is a perfect match to the amazing smoked wings. I also enjoyed the texture of curly fries, my hand kept reach for more and more.

Just got take-out from this truck and am simply amazed at how they can turn out such delicious and gourmet food. We had panko crusted fried avocado with spicy mayo and sweet soy drizzled on top, with green onion sprinkles. It tasted like an incredible sushi roll, with the panko crunch taking the place of rice. Next up, smoked wings which are then fried and quickly tossed in sweet chili Thai sauce. The smokiness of the meat, crispy of the skin, and sweet tang of the sauce made these seriously the best wings I've ever tasted. I may have to become a groupie to figure out where this truck will pop up next!

I tried the chicken schwarma pita. Everything including the pita was cold . There was very little chicken, maybe 3 -4 small pieces. $9 for this? Never again.
