Trying to check out all the food spots in my new neighbourhood and I stumbled onto this 24/7 diner just blocks away from me.Very decent cream of mushroom soup, potato salad, and a wonderfully messy/delicious Reuben sandwich for $15. I can see this becoming a staple for whenever I am too lazy to cook and don't want to order in.Minus one star because they charged me $3.50 for a seltzer water - come on guys, it's just bubbles! Excited to return and try some of the other menu options!

Finally visited this iconic diner. It really did not disappoint. We were at a nearby bar and needed to get some dinner before heading home. Upon arrival, we were seated at a spacious booth. For food recommendations we were told by staff that the burger was good, the kebabs were good and also the pancake breakfast with bacon. We decided to roll with the recommendations and get an Acalpoco Burger and Kebabs. Both these came with soup. Food: I ordered the Kebabs which was chicken, rice, pita, greek salad, and sauce. I was impressed with this dish and even more surprised by the French Onion soup. While the soup looked cheesy (no punt intended), it was really good. The onion broth had a deep flavor. My husband devoured his burger so it must have been good. He also like his chicken noodle soup. Drinks: They serve beer, wine and cocktails at this establishment. I grabbed a Osyter Bay White wine and it was nice and cold. My husband got the IPA on tap. Overall a good experience. I believe our waitress name was Maria (Maria with the red hair). She was so friendly and informative. Glad we got to try this place. If in the area again, I would go here but I need to still try the White Palace diner also.

Couldn't find any breakfast place to seat us until we arrived at Griddle 24 which they did promptly. This is your typical 24 - hour diner which serves many dishes however breakfast had the spotlight. I was very excited for the Irish skillet however it came out looking very dull and sad. The flavors were there and to be honest I was a bit hungover so it did the job however it was all a bit dry and the potatoes were not crispy whatsoever. Overall it was a bang average meal and it costing almost 20 dollars certainly doesn't justify the quality of the dish. It helped that my waitress was a very nice lady and got our food in pretty quick time. There seemed to be a few arguments between the servers and cooks which was pretty obvious as they have an open kitchen. I would go here again for lunch or dinner as it seems a bit more appetizing than their breakfast offerings.

Cute breakfast spot. Nice staff. The woman who appeared to be the manager was very helpful to all but especially with the children sitting near by offering them coloring pages and provided crayons while they wait. They have booths large enough to fit a big group too. Breakfast was good but just not memorable. The biscuits and gravy tasted like the sausage links and the sausage links are unique themselves. In the south, sausage gravy is made with ground sausage and tons of pepper and sometimes even spicy sausage. It just didn't taste how it should but this could be the Chicago way of biscuits and gravy so if you're looking for traditional southern gravy, you won't find it.

We randomly stopped in to this spot for brunch as we were searching for somewhere new to try. To start, the staff is super friendly and very helpful. The menu consists of soooo many items ranging from brunch to lunch and even dinner items! I would say they definitely have options for any time of the day especially given it's open 24 hours. I got the southwest chicken wrap which was pretty delicious but will say was way sweeter than expected. It came with a chipotle sauce which was super sweet and kind of threw me off but the chicken was well flavored. Will try another item next time!

The Crazy Monkey was amazing!! The coffee was not so great. They also leave the front door open, which I'm guessing was how the flies got in. The staff are super friendly and attentive, and the menu has a large variety of breakfast, lunch, and dinner dishes to choose from. My husband was impressed with the four Reuben sandwich choices. We were glad that we tried this place because it's a close walk to my son's place.
