Greystone is one of my go-to study cafes/bakeries. Their coffee is great, and their scones and galettes are very delicious too. I've gotten their seasonal scone and just tried their spinach and feta galette and both of the flavors were spot on! I heard that their breakfast sandwiches are one of the best things on the menu, so I definitely want to try one next time I come. They serve you quickly so you are never waiting for long. The space is also a great one to study. There are outlets all around, but I will warn you, they do have tables and spaces marked as "no laptops", but there are still a good amount of tables that you are allowed to use your laptop on, and there are outlets in convenient places. The music isn't too loud for a study environment and I was able to crank some serious work out. Today, they were just doing orders from their window outside but you were able to go in to eat, read, or work - so just be aware that they sometimes do that.

Lovely cafe! There is a window outside for ordering as well as a spot to order inside. The person working there was very helpful when I asked for a pastry recommendation, and I ended up loving the morning bun that I ordered. The cafe has a cute spot for outdoor seating that is tucked away. They also have signs about not using laptops there - it's a spot for conversation and relaxation, not work.

Cool that they have a walk up order window. Basic vibes. I ordered a iced strawberry matcha. I wanted it hot but they only had iced. It tasted mostly like milk and strawberry. Wish it had a stronger matcha flavor. Their Blt was pretty good especially bc of the balsamic which added a nice acidic sweetness.

Bright comfortable interior with a 20-30 something vibe. Came here on a Sunday morning around 11:00am. They were already out of the almond croissants! Bummer, but they still had lots of other good pastries available. We had the cheddar biscuit with bacon and egg sandwich. It has a slight hint of spice which I like. We also had the roast beef sandwich on ciabatta which came with onion jam, tomato relish, pickled onions (which we requested instead of cheddar cheese) and arugula. Both were great. One nice touch are all the cookbooks you can browse through.

Nice ambiance to just hang out or to be with friends. It's on the corner with lots of windows so it's bright and a good spot to people watch. The ice latte was definitely very good as was the seasonal scone.

Stopped in here after seeing this cafe on social media and wanted to give it a try. I came around 1:30 on a Friday afternoon and it was full but not too crowded. I ordered ahead online and everything was ready when I got there which was super nice! A coffee and sandwhich was 18$ which I think is a bit steep but everything tasted high quality. The sandwich was really good. Nothing out of the ordinary though. Coffee was a bit bitter but I still drank it all and enjoyed it! The aesthetic of this cafe is really nice. Limited seating though. They also have a walk up window outside you can order at too. Something to note is there is a sign saying don't allow laptops in the main seating area so this might not be the best place to sit down and do work. Although, I did still see people using them so maybe they don't care too much? Cute place, would recommend if you happen to be in the area.

The South End abounds with charming neighborhood coffee shops and bakeries but Greystone is easily one of my favorites. The cafe is incredibly charming, nestled in a classic, leafy, red-brick corner of the South End with outdoor and indoor seating options. They have a good selection of well-done coffee and tea drinks but the pastries are what have really captured my loyalty. I've sampled a wide array of the baked goods at this point and every one has been a winner. Some favorites have been the cheddar biscuit (moist with a subtle cheesiness and a touch of spice), the everything croissant (a croissant with everything bagel seasoning and just the right amount of cream cheese filling), and the rose jasmine scone. The breakfast sandwich is also the perfect morning bite with runny egg, grilled, buttery bread and a spicy mayo that adds a little kick. They also have a good amount of gluten free options. Service is quick and friendly and their walk-up window is a nice option for a quick stop on a weekend morning or on the way to work. Highly recommend!

A sweet, charming bakery. You can order outside via a counter or go inside to order, there are some tables inside. I got a lavender latte + orange ginger scone and both were delicious. Sounds like they rotate scone flavors so ask them what they have. Located in what seemed like a quieter part of the city, easy to get to, street parking in the area.

Very cute spot that is pretty accessible as we were in the Back Bay area. They have a handful of pastries and sandwiches that are good for both breakfast and lunch, but we just hopped in for some coffee/tea. Cortado was delicious and I also got a matcha. It was a bit sweet for my taste. It was a bit of a bummer that they use a matcha syrup so they are unable to control sweetness. We were able to find a spot to sit, but I can see it being pretty difficult to find seating on the weekend.

In town for a day deliberating on which coffee shops to try. Ended up choosing Greystone which was a 10 min walk from our hotel. Tried the tulip and cappuccinos. There was something wrong with the espresso machine that made all beverages taste sour. The girls tried diligently to get it fixed to no avail. Regular coffee also no bueno. Manager ended us comping us orange juice. Breakfast Sammie's were amazing. But now I have to go elsewhere for coffee :(
