These are true professionals and just great people!!! Impressive local business with delicious food and I would definitely recommend Green Planet for your next event. Executive Chef, Patrick Cowden, holds true talent in his culinary expertise. What makes this local buisness outstanding is how it has heart. I requested a community outreach consideration to extend their talents to a community in need. Chef Cowden said yes to the Women and Children of the InterAct Shelter without hesitation. True expression of love with a taste for Kings and Queens. AMAZING!!

Don't bother ... it's not good food from what I have ate.The cafe isn't open ever. .. the catering is aweful..

I had high hopes for Green Planet catering after reading the reviews and visiting their website. I scheduled their catering for our annual work Thanksgiving lunch. Working with Jayme to coordinate the menu was fine - she was very pleasant and organized. However, the day of the event is when things really hit the fan. The event was supposed to start at 11:30 and they were supposed to set up by 11:15. I called her at 11:20 wondering where the delivery was. She called me back and said the delivery person was finishing up an order in Durham and was heading our way to Chapel Hill. Thirty minutes later and still no sign of them. She calls back and said there was issues in Durham with the truck getting parked in and the person had to walk "a mile" to deliver the food. But they were seriously on their way now. (This is at 12pm - our event is done at 12:30 mind you). Long story short...the food didn't arrive until 12:45 -- a solid 1.5 hrs after it was supposed to. Apparently the delivery person was supposed to deliver ours first and then go to Durham so there was a huge mixup with the orders. They took 15 min to just set up the food (and we didn't order that much). Once we started eating, we were really confused because one pan looked like it was just a ton of gravy and we didn't know where the turkey was. We soon realized there was NO TURKEY or mashed potatoes delivered...and its our Thanksgiving lunch! We had to call them back and the delivery person had left it on the truck in another warmer. Mashed potatoes were a soupy mess, turkey was salty but ok, cookies were a little hard. The vegetarian gnocchi we got looked more like a mushy casserole. It was all pretty blah. The owner and Jayme were both very apologetic and professional about the whole incident. We didn't end up paying for the lunch but what was so disappointing was the quality of the food and the fact that there was no communication. Someone should have called to say they were running late or there was a mixup, etc. It just felt like we got the run around about what was going on and to make matters worse, the food was cold and gross after being in a hot box for so many hours. What a complete disappointment!

I actually first found Green Planet thru my job which used them to cater a breakfast event. The food was amazing and my boss said that Jayme and all the staff were a pleasure to work with, so I thought that I would get a quote for my wedding. Their quote was slightly less than other caterers I met with and they were very helpful with working with our budget and making changes to the menu over time. I really appreciated their environmentally friendly practices and everyone raved about how delicious the food was! One of our guests just ate an entire plate of macaroni and cheese because it was so good. Their food tastes great and they are helping the planet-- it doesn't get much better than that!

What a fabulous company, and team of "foodies"! I've used Green Planet for nearly 10 business events, ranging from very casual to very formal and they have outdone themselves every time! With a knack for selecting just the right menu items, flexibility to modify the menu to meet my budget, prompt and efficient setup and breakdown, and, most importantly DELICIOUS food, Green Planet is my first choice every time!

We worked with Ashlyn for a family event of 75 people and she did a wonderful job! We ordered boxed lunches with a Mediterranean/Greek theme and everything was delicious! Ashlyn helped us to keep the boxed lunch order delivery organized, which was a great relief to us. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

I ordered boxed lunches for a meeting of about 70 people. Ashlyn and Rita were a true pleasure to work with. The food was wonderful! More than one person commented on how good it was. Little touches like labeling each box really helped with logistics too. Rita also seemed to care about details like keeping drinks cold. I also like that they use environmentally friendlier materials. I think ownership changed around Covid. I've always been impressed with this business, but it seems especially good now. When you are organizing a big meeting you need true professionals, and Green Planet Catering, based on my experience, will not let you down. They are experienced--and it shows. I will be using them for all my meetings in the future.

Friendly staff, timely, incredibly helpful in the planning process, and GREAT food! The crab cakes are amazing! I couldn't have been more pleased with my event and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a great caterer.

After having Amy, Daniel & Crew cater a couple of events of ours, we now won't use anyone else. As a department within the School of the Environment at Duke, we are extremely concerned with the sustainability practices of vendors we use, and as a food snob, I'm extremely concerned with how everything tastes. :) Everything is always delicious, fresh, creative, and their environmental practices are so sound, that we actually have worked their business plan into lessons for students. They are clearly passionate about the cause, so easy to work with, and incredibly accommodating whenever I have dietary restrictions in our group. The highest compliment I can give them was when two colleagues went to events catered by someone else (on two separate occasions), they came back telling me how much they missed Green Planet! Highly recommend.

Our family likes to support local and ethically raised food so we were delighted to find Green Planet Catering for our son's Bar Mitzvah celebration. Their food was delicious. You know the obligatory vegee tray-- theirs was creatively prepared and and artfully displayed-- totally different from any I've ever seen. The vegetables were fresh, seasonal and delicious and surrounded by these amazing pink watermelon and goat cheese appetizers that were so juicy and satisfying when taking a break from dancing on a warm fall evening. The slider bar, empanadas and pasta were all big hits. Lots of our guests-- adults and kids-- commented on how delicious the food was. And the staff could not have been more gracious-- both in the planning process and on the night of the event itself. All this amazing quality was delivered at a very reasonable price. We would definitely hire them again without hesitation!
