Nice entrance, polite staff, quick to bring your order. Cinnabon pancakes were yummy, sunny side up eggs as expected, coffee was the usual. Leave it at that to get your day going. Biscuits had no flavor, the sausage gravy was overpowered with a weird spicy/lime flavor (unpalatable) and ........cheese grits? That's ain't right. Took two bites and set it aside. Take the biscuits, gravy and grits off the menu and let folks south of the Mason Dixon line do the cooking.

There's certain breakfast foods you don't mess with, Grits and Biscuits and gravy being at the top of the list!I was hungry for biscuits, gravy and grits. Ok, Philly isn't exactly southern but I hoped I could find something; oh, I found something.3 eggs scrambled with the intent of eating with my grits. The eggs were good, not over cooked. The Grits came with cheese and cream, what the hell?! Not an option to hold either. The mush no way resembled grits and to add insult to insult, more cheddar was dumped on top. Their version of sausage gravy was unnecessarily salty and I believe topped with it at least tasted like it had Tajin. It was not palatable. The biscuit was dry with a baking powder after taste. Their coffee was good.

I needed a quick spot to grab breakfast on my way to the airport and came across this breakfast spot. I will say the breakfast egg rolls are a crazy bang for your buck! They were $9 and came as 2 large egg rolls cut into 2 pieces each. They were painted with ketchup - in which I don't like ketchup as much but complemented the flavor pretty well. The egg rolls were massive, crispy, and fluffy! Was kind of glad I was able to take some to go because the portions were generous. Also wasn't sure if the place was understaffed on a Saturday morning, but I sat at the bar (since I was by myself) and had a difficult time at some points getting the attention of staff as they were all busy with other tasks and tables. But I would come back to this spot and try other things on the menu as I looked at some other people's sweet brunch dishes and they looked huge and amazing.

This place has wonderful food! Portions are way too big, especially if you want to try different items. The service was decent, atmosphere was lively, ambient sound was loud, voices tend to echo of the ways walls. My husband had the bang bang shrimp tacos and short ribs eggrolls. I had flank steak and eggs (wanting huevos Rancheros, but it's not on the menu). We shared apple empanadas. Best bite for sure was the empanadas!I do recommend this place, I will return.

I had this place on my Philadelphia bucket list for their French toast selection! I decided to order the Banana Salted Caramel French Toast. It comes with 3 thick fluffy brioche slices, each layered with salted caramel cream and fresh banana. The top has a caramel glaze, cream and banana chips which I didn't prefer so I scooped them to the side. It definitely is a heavy and sweet breakfast so I couldn't finish it all but it was quite delicious and all the components complimented each other so well. I always get a side of scrambled eggs to eat first when having a sweet breakfast. It's just a super classic diner style scrambled eggs and delicious. The interior was interesting! The outside is beautiful and warm, the front area is super aesthetic + trendy but the back area (where we got seated) gives off university cafeteria vibes so if you're looking for a good vibe, ask to sit in front. Also they are CASH ONLY!!!

I heard a lot about this place for brunch so while visiting Philadelphia we came for a nice brunch date. They had outdoor seating and inside seating. It was a beautiful day so the outdoor seating was full. We were seated inside and the staff were very prompt, we got our orders taken quickly. I ordered the shrimp and grits and my boyfriend ordered the French toast board which came with 3 samples of the French toasts they offer. They have a big menu so it was difficult trying to decide what to get. They offer so many different types of French toast. Our orders came out quickly and I will say I was a little disappointed. I wished my shrimp and grits were a little more seasoned, the shrimp were amazing! But I do wish there were more shrimp, it was only 6 shrimp and ALOT of grits. My boyfriend enjoyed his French toast but he was expecting a little more than what he got. It was a great restaurant, good atmosphere and very clean. It just didn't meat our expectations. Also be aware that they only except cash, they do have an atm inside the restaurant which was very convenient

If you're looking for both Sweet and Savory Brunch, look no further because Green Eggs Cafe have the best of both worlds! Their french toasts are made of thick cut challah bread dipped in creme brulle batter, with flavors like salted caramel banana, peach cobbler and cinnamon bun to name a few.It was more towards lunch for us so we decided to try the skillets and oh my the serving is ginormous! A skillet can easily be shared by 3 people. If I knew how massive their servings are I would've opted for a french toast instead and my boyfriend and I can share the skillet. I had the Buffalo Chicken Mac and Cheese with Blue cheese skillet. I love blue cheese but it was a little too overpowering on this dish, in my opinion. The other skillet we got is the Cure which has mac and cheese, french fries, topped with braised beef short ribs. This was carb overload but the beef short ribs was fire! This restaurant is CASH only but there's an ATM accessible as well. Overall, enjoyed our brunch here!

On our annual Philly party trip, we lucked up and found Green Eggs Cafe just steps away from our hotel (Royal Sonesta). If I lived in Philly, this would be one of my favorite breakfast spots for sure. We didn't have reservations but we were able to snag a couple seats at the very large bar. Green Eggs is deceptively large, with a whole separate section to the rear. As far as brunch food goes, Green Eggs can't be beat. My friend ordered the French toast sampler and I went for the Chicken eggs Benedict. I've never had that iteration of the Benny, man was that thang GOOOOOOD!!! My friend said the French toast sampler was better than any dessert he's ever had!The reason Green Eggs didn't squeeze a 5 out of me, for one, it's a cash only establishment. Who carries cash these days but they do have an ATM on site. Second, for some mind baffling reason, they have a manned hostess booth OUTSIDE in the freezing cold. Why in the world would they do that? It literally was 35 degrees the day we visited.Other than those two hiccups, we enjoyed Green Eggs Cafe thoroughly and we'll definitely be back next year!!

I had to download the Yelp app simply just to leave a review for this place. I am blown away. To describe it in one word would be perfect. I would make the drive from my home town in Maryland to Philly every week just to indulge on every single item on the menu. I have never been happier. The service was fast and I can feel the positive aura radiating from everyone. Philly shouldn't be known as "the city of brotherly love" it should be known as the city of green egg cafe.
