Greek Lady

Place is always clean. service is always friendly and fast ,food is always delicious.!

Greek lady has mediocre greek food but very good breakfast. Their home fries are phenomenal, the breakfast sandwiches are huge, and you can't go wrong with one of the omelettes. Their vegetarian gyro is filled with vegetables and French fries which is a little weird, but the rest of their Greek food is okay.There's some seating inside but it can get busy on weekend evenings. We've also done breakfast catering from here for group brunch events, and again, the platter of homefries is always a big hit.

When you walk through the streets of University City, an area bustling with students running around to whatever destination they need to reach, you'll end up bypassing by Greek Lady. I know some people are religious to it. Others, would rather eat at Yiro Yiro down the street.I am one of the latter.This place, to me, exudes mid-food. I wouldn't be surprised if Gordon Ramsey showed up out of nowhere and had to revamp the restaurant. The only reason to come here is if you're just sick of everything else in the area and wanted to "try something different.The insane amount of indoor seating inside is nice, and I got my food relatively quickly. But otherwise, meh. Maybe you'll become a hard-core Greek Lady fan. Or maybe you'll just never come again.

I saw the Greek Lady on JL Jupiter's YouTube channel. I'm trying not to eat as much processed meat these days, so their chicken finger hoagie sounded like a great option. I ordered the chicken finger hoagie, along with a couple of desserts for delivery. My delivery came promply and the chicken finger hoagie did not disappoint. The worst thing I could say was that it was too large to eat in one meal, and doesn't retain it's flavor the next day the same way a traditional lunchmeat hoagie would. But it a delicious hoagie, full of chopped up pieces of perfectly fried chicken. I really wanted to devour the entire thing in one meal, but just couldn't do it. My desserts were a slice of carrot cake and red velvet cake. The red velvet cake was disappointing. I would not order that again. The carrot cake was outstanding. I'm not a big fan of the nuts, so the cake could have been perfect without buts. But even with the nuts it's one of the top carrot cakes I've ever tasted. Next time I'm in West Philly I will try to make time to stop in to the Greek Lady to sample more of the menu.

Greek Lady is a solid University City lunch staple. With a menu sure to please all and prices that can't be beat, it's worth skipping the bagged lunch and checking out their selections. Their salads are a total winner - they're HUGE! You could easily share between two people or make a second meal out of them. During my last visit, I opted for some Chicken Orzo soup and spanakopita - less than $10, and a very large portion. The spanakopita would have been filling all on it's own. It was a little on the greasy side, but I had no issue polishing the entire generous slice. I also loved the soup! Chicken soup is always therapeutic. Service is quick and reliable, and the staff is friendly.If you're looking for gourmet Greek, you're barking up the wrong tree. But if you're looking for quick, satisfying, and lots of taste for a good value, Greek Lady is good option.

The service was great today for lunch! We ordered the lamb gyro platters with Greek salad and bakalava for dessert. It was good to watch as they were cutting the meat from the Shawarma and building the sandwiches. The homemade peach ice tea was a refreshing touch as well.

The Greek Lady is an excellent place! We went here twice on our long weekend in Philly. The food is fresh and delicious, the portion sizes are generous, and all for a decent cost. Our party ordered the lamb gyro, the chicken gyro the veggie hoagie (large and generous) and the Greek Lady salad. Everything was delicious. The gyros were fresh and generous, the salads were gigantic (we needed to-go boxes for those). The staff are excellent, courteous and very customer-oriented. We had a party of 10 and grabbed a table right outside, and it was delightful. The woman working (who we learned is from Albania) was so kind and thoughtful and we had a good time chatting with her--but didn't get her name. Very near to Penn's campus and on a Saturday afternoon we were even able to park on the street right in front. You can't go wrong with a stop here!

The lamb gyro is the best gyro you can get here as it's the most flavorful. The house gyro is quite mid, and I would know since i've gotten it 2-3x. Overall, the food quality is okay and I usually come here if nothing else is open.

Simply delicious. No frills. Had the chicken shawarma, fully loaded with fries. EXCELLENT. UPenn students (and others) are lucky to have this place at their fingertips!

My daughter found this restaurant in Yelp. The restaurant was cleaned and organized. However, there was no air conditioning. We choose to enjoy our meal at the table in front of the restaurant. The food was mediocre, but their prices were high compared to other restaurant.
