Satisfy with Gratify. Met some friends for dinner with a 6 pm reservation. They were fairly busy. They are part of the HRW (Houston Restaurant Week). They have a diverse menu but it's not huge which is great. They are def a wine bar. We ordered off the HRW - 3 courses for $55. Appetizer: crab cake (HRW is 1, regular menu is 2), delicious, nice tender seasoned crab with a slight crisp on the edges, comes with a nice sauce that is a tad spicy (horseradish) - other options were Gratify Salad, caviar and chips, or grilled broccolini and lentilsEntree: taglierini and truffles - decadent, creamy, delicious pasta - it was so good - other options were scarred octopus (friend said it was amazing), NY strip or brick chickenDessert: pot de creme (butterscotch) - it is a light pudding with some chocolate topping, the butterscotch was whipped down so the taste was there but not overpowering - other options were chocolate cake or key lime pie (1/2)Overall, it was def a nice spot. It progressively got busier. Bar, tables, everywhere. It's like a maze getting out bc the tables are packed fairly close. The staff were all fabulous. Our waiter was friendly and all the helpers were pleasant and nice. I don't think my water glass was ever more than half empty. They even brought me a little stand to hang my purse on. The manager stopped at tables but he walked by ours 3 or 4 times - guess we weren't hip enough to stop for There is a parking garage right next door so easy access. It's also owned by the same company as Coppa Osteria so if you like that spot, you will like Gratify too.
