The Grateful Dedham Diner, located on High Street in Dedham Square, is a family owned-and-operated restaurant that offers plenty of tasty breakfast, brunch, and lunch options at reasonable prices served by accommodating staff in a casual, open ambiance. We met up with friends for breakfast at the Grateful Dedham Diner on a recent Saturday morning. While the service felt a bit uneven with a long wait to order and a minor snafu during the ordering process, the staff quickly made things right. They were also very patient with our group, giving the five of us plenty of time to catch up with our local friends rather than trying to rush us to turn the table to accommodate the growing queue of diners. The breakfast menu includes plenty of options with filling portions of breakfast staples including cage free egg platters, benedicts, omelettes, pancakes, french toast, waffles, or breakfast sandwiches. The menu also offers several burgers, salads, and sandwiches/wraps which are available all day for those heathens who don't crave breakfast foods at every opportunity. I had the Irish Jumbo Roll sandwich ($9), comprised of two eggs (over medium at my request), irish bacon, and sausage links served on a fresh grinder roll. Tasty! As always, my dining companion preferred something lighter and opted for the G.O.A.T. platter ($13), two poached eggs over baby spinach, served with what feels like a pound of smoked salmon, goat cheese, avocado, and whole wheat toast. She really enjoyed it.We will definitely be back next time we're in the area!PRO TIP: Grateful Dedham Diner doesn't have its own parking lot, but there's plenty free parking in the Gonzalez Field municipal parking lot at the corner of High and East Streets.

One of our fav diners to eat at! They're always so quick in seating and service. I always end up coming back for their sweet n' savory grilled cheese, lemon ricotta blueberry pancakes, and health nut French toast. Tried their bennys before and I would go to a few other places for those instead, but they have so many unique pancakes & French toasts -- always fun to try!

Woof. I had a disappointing breakfast here recently. I usually never comment on service but after my husband and I were seated, we waited such long time for someone to bring us menus that we almost left. It was odd that we were seated without them to begin with. Not a good start that went from bad to worse...I ordered the big rig breakfast which is eggs, bacon, sausage, home fries, toast and pancakes. The bacon and home fries were burnt. The bacon was pretty much charred to a crisp. The toast was the most odd toast I've ever had anywhere; two small pieces of bread inches thick that tasted like oatmeal. I was done with this "toast" after one bite. I think the pancakes were supposed to be "big & fluffy" but they were thick and mushy instead. Even the coffee didn't taste right to me. Unfortunately I'd recommend skipping over this place :(

The location is nice and accessible. The interior is very casual. Service was also nice. The two wonderful ladies were very friendly and attentive. The food was a bit disappointing. I ordered the Isabel with standard egg, bacon, pancake, toast, and house fries. The rye toast was crispy and fresh. The egg and house coffee were good as well. But the fries were unseasoned, the bacon was refried and smelled stale, and the pancake was very dry. Overall, it's an okay spot to grab a bite when in a rush, but there are better brunch choices around.

Extensive menu with lots of breakfast options. Excellent food! Coffee was a dark roast which I love. Portions were large served quickly and hot... Helpful wait staff and a clean facility. A must dine experience when around the area.

Overall this dining experience was just fine. The wait was short and the service from staff was wonderful. The food tasted just fine - not delicious nor disgusting. Someone in my party ordered a dish with a bacon or sausage option, asking for both. Their order was made as a side of bacon which was 3 strips of bacon costing $4.75 extra - a little pricy for just fine bacon. The mozzarella that came with my eggs was not melted or incorporated. In addition, after the kind waitress listed the toast options that come with my dish, I selected the English muffin option, only to have it charged as an extra $.50 - confusing me as to why this breakfast experience came with hidden fees.

The food is decent but bland. I had the western omelette sandwich and my spouse had an egg white omelette. Both were average and blame. Service was ok. There was a lack of management as tables sat un-bussed awhile. Nice outdoor seating area. I'd come again for quick breakfast because I'm guessing they don't get that busy.

Great space and great service. I go there often. Lots of great menu options. I always customize an omelet and it is well done every time.

The food is good but service has gone downhill. Was room temperature today, second time is as many weeks and not drinkable. Server didn't come back to the table until it was time to drop the check at which time I pointed to my full cup of coffee and told her it was too cold to drink. She asked if I another cup but told no, I wanted it with my breakfast. Of she didn't take the coffee of the check.I told my husband I won't be going to breakfast next week if he's going there.
