Really love the brisket sandwich here.... It can usually make for two meals which makes the price reasonable. I like the salads here, but I think they are too expensive for one person - better for sharing. Not the biggest fan of the fried chicken (not pictured) or chocolate cake. The service is really good. They have some great servers for both lunch and dinner.

What a delightful lunch experience with extended family; good quality food at reasonable prices, friendly service and a refreshing ambiance. I hoped we lived nearby to go at least twice a week.

Service Excellant , old school decor. Been there before had a really great meal this time my dinner was so so brittle dry, like it was overly reheated, the same with the fries which looked to be originally frozen. Being hungry I ate half my protein. Perhaps I should have sent it back right away after I tried it but I thought it would get better. I was wrong It just got worse The meat was tough and tasteless.Nonetheless although there were apologies afterwards but my meal was still charged the full $$$ price . Not cool! So I'm guessing they don't want us back. Plus I was up all night with indigestion, a weak stomach and be near a bathroom until midafternoon. Stick to the daily specials I'm sure they are freshly made not reheated or previously frozen.

everything we had was worth 5 stars and the service was exceptional. Eric our server has been with Gourmet Diner for a long time and noticed that customers were hugging him on their way out. French onion soup was 2nd best I've ever had savory and Swiss cheesy (my top was made by my French chef brother in law Not in the business.) The escargot was a delicacy I ordered warm french bed to dip in the garlic butter sauce. We also had the brisket sandwich in the au jus was huge size of an entire French loaf baguette. We ended it with Belgian chocolate sundae.

Food was garbage. Owner came to the table after we mentioned it, not complained, just told him what happened and basically dismissed us without even offering a piece of cake for dessert. Avoided all costs.

We brought our friend here for lunch today. It was not far away from where she lives -- and it was on my list of "to try" places in Dade County. It's in the middle of a shopping strip on the east side of Biscayne Boulevard. And during lunch, it was surprisingly quite busy. Prices are not inexpensive, but as we learned, portions are commensurate. We decided to have their lunch special -- a sandwich with fries or salad or soup of the day. My husband chose their tuna salad and a Caesar salad; I had a brisket sandwich with a Caesar salad; my friend had a brisket sandwich with a house salad. First, we were treated to a basket of warm French bread and some very good hummus dip. This was a nice start -- and helped the hunger pains while waiting for our entrees. The large salads served next filled up the plates. The house salad came with a side pitcher of house made vinaigrette. The Caesar salads were lightly coated with their own dressing (but no anchovies). The sandwiches came on crusty French bread. His white tuna also had lettuce, tomato and onion on it. The brisket sandwiches were filled with very tender sliced meat and melted Swiss cheese. A bowl of tasty au jus was served on the side for dipping. It was very good. We were too full for dessert, but settled on cappuccino and a cortadito. It was a nice surprise to receive three warm (and gooey) chocolate chip cookies compliments of the house! Their menu is large and has many French offerings. You can order full meals instead of sandwiches, if you wish. I imagine that fine of the "ladies that lunch" there do just that and take half of their meals home for dinner. I'm so glad we went and tried it. Now we know!

I've been going to this establishment since the 80's. They've moved so many times, but stayed in the same area. Fantastic food, service in impeccable and the ambiance is simple and welcoming. A little bit of Belgium food when you miss it. Totally recommend this café.

The food and the service are consistently excellent over the years. The onion soup is the best!

Food is excellent, service is attentive and prompt, ambience is lively and warm. French onion soup is the real thing. Hummus is delicious with excellent French bread.
