We went to Gordo's for dinner on a Sunday and were seated right away. I loved that they had dog-friendly outdoor seating. We ordered the quesabirria tacos (comes with three tacos), the taco flight where you can pick any three tacos, and a large Jamaica to share.The quesabirria tacos were delicious, with very tender and flavorful meat, though they were a bit pricey at $18. For the taco flight, we chose the chicken, cochinita pibil, and fish tacos. The cochinita pibil taco was really good, and I loved the pickled onions. My boyfriend had the fish and chicken tacos. He said the fish tacos were good but would skip the chicken next time. The large Jamaica was perfectly sweet and refreshing, ideal for a hot day.I thought this was a nice quick meal, will definitely be back to try their other items.

The pastor taco was okay, though the pineapples *seemed* canned. The real key to a good pastor is letting those pineapples roast on top of the meat whilst on the spit, and serving those accompanying the taco. The fish taco I felt had too much sauce on it.The mole taco was really good, surprisingly. I'm very particular when it comes to mole, but I enjoyed their spin on it. I enjoyed the shrimp taco. Tasted fresh. Cochinita pibil, again, tough one to get right especially when you've had the authentic stuff in Mexico. Didn't like this take, at all. Probably my least favorite of the bunch. Server was attentive, and very nice. Ambiance? Not really any to speak of. Some Mexico flair, I suppose. They have outdoor seating, which is a bonus to me.

It is a tiny taco bar indeed, tucked in near the park! What a great little spot with nice outdoor ambiance and and service and a perfect spot to take a break from walking around.Prices are reasonable for this part of town and the menu has something for everyone. They served complimentary chips and salsa which is awesome. Are there better tacos in the city in places like Pilsen? Of course but these are very good for the area and an overall pleasant spot to go for reasonable eats and drinks!

This time forgot to take any pictures, but we had had a light breakfast and wanted a mid afternoon lunch but not too heavy as we were headed to Chinatown for dinner. I ordered two tacos; Carne Asada and chicken Tinga. My friend ordered a shrimp taco, which she really loved, and two others. While the Carne Asada had good taste, I had some grizzly bites so not as good as I would've liked. I also felt like chicken tinga could have more flavor. The chips and salsa were fresh and very good. Reasonable prices at a good location so would go back but try different things. Our server was attentive and took care of us well. Fun Mexican decorations throughout the restaurant rounded out our experience.

Tucked in a Lakeshore East community, this taqueria is a must try! The moment you're seated, you're served with complimentary salsa, verde and chips. Chips are always so fresh. I have tried tacos, quesadillas, tostada, fajitas, chicken soup. The food totally hits the spot. Usually my go to is Tinga and chicken taco. Also, it is very reasonably priced. The margaritas are exceptional too. The vibe is pretty chill, casual. The place is vibrant, clean and very tidy. The staff is very friendly, pleasant and hard working. The service is quick. Give them a go, this small business deserves all the love and praise!

Gordo's is a nice, casual spot for Mexican. We went here on Saturday before St. Patrick's day, but only waited about 20 minutes for a table. The atmosphere is loud and open. It's nicely decorated with Mexican-themed trinkets, and the margaritas are strong and tasty. The complimentary chips and salsa are really good and I think they're made in house. I had three tacos with flour tortillas. They were decent but nothing special. My friends liked their dishes more, though.Our waitress was friendly and attentive even though it was really busy. I would try it again if I was in the area but wouldn't go out of my way.

Getting here was kind of difficult to find depending on where you're coming from. We came from the upper level and could not figure out the location at all. Google kept telling us we arrived but we couldn't find it until you look on the wall of the downstairs plaza and you see this giant menu on the side of the building. Then you follow the directions to other restaurant and use the escalators to head downstairs.The service was great. Everyone was friendly and helpful when we were there. The food was delicious as well. The jamaica drink tasted very much like hibiscus and not powdery. The tacos were a good size and very flavorful. I wish they had another dessert but they ran out. Overall, if you're in the area, even as a tourist, give it a try

The service was good we were seated quickly. I ordered the jumbo quesadillas with shredded chicken. The plate came with rice, beans, guacamole, sour cream and lettuce. If you love eating your food with rice and beans, do not go here. The beans were bland and the rice had a weird flavor. Other than that, the quesadillas were great and the atmosphere was a vibe. Bathrooms were clean as well.

We live in the neighborhood so we dine at Gordo's pretty regularly. Every time we go, we get sat right away and enjoy their complimentary chips and salsa. The food comes out freakishly fast and we've been happy with our order every time. Our toddler especially loves the people who work here and feel tended to by the friendly interactions and overall fun, chill vibes.
