Golden Sea Chinese Restaurant

This is my new favorite Chinese restaurant! I ordered the chicken and shrimp Szechuan and it was absolutely delicious. Fresh ingredients delicious sauce rice was perfect. It reminds me of a very old-school Chinese restaurant that does things right. Large portion of food as well! They also gave homemade crunchy noodles, which I love! I will definitely be back. They are only open for takeout, no seating inside. The staff is just lovely! Highly recommend.

I've been eating here since they opened in 1992. Jack and Amy have been the proprietors since day one and are always on site overseeing the dining room and the kitchen.I've had a handful of misses over 25+ years but consistently good food for the 100+ other meals I've had both dine-in and takeout.For starters I think their egg rolls are my favorite. Plump and never too greasy. Their hot & soup and egg drop soups are both standouts as well. Also their fried wonton appetizers - are hot and soft with a crispy but not crunchy outside. Every place else I ever get them it's virtually a cracker. Golden Sea's egg rolls and fried wonton are special.One dish on the dine-in menu but not on the takeout menu is Imperial Pork Chops (Hong Kong style). Boneless pork chops lightly fried and served in a less-sweet sauce somewhere between General Tso's and Sweet & Sour. I can't describe it, but I do recommend it.It's in a strip mall but it's not one of those counter takeout places. It's a little more expensive than most take-out places but I think it's worth it.

Whatever you do, don't get the chow mein because what you'll get is not chow mein. There are no noodles. It comes with fried flour chips.

I'm a vegetarian/vegan. I commonly order steamed tofu with vegetables, which, at Golden Sea in Blue Bell, is listed for $14.75. I received four [4] pieces of tofu (about 1.5" square and .5" deep) and the majority of the rest was broccoli (so much broccoli). I called to alert them, and they confirmed that they intentionally only include 4 pieces of tofu - in this "bean curd" entree. They weren't too concerned about my call about the purchase. This was my first and last order at Golden Sea. If you're vegetarian/vegan looking for a reasonable amount of tofu for $14.75, this isn't it.

Shrimp fried rice was awful. Shrimp were transparent, raw tasting and mushy. They use to use medium shrimp and they were well cooked. Meat was white and solid. The little shrimp are awful. Threw it out. Wonton soup is decent. Not sure why eat-in service is not available. Pandemic is over.

Delicious food made with quality ingredients. NO MSG or excessive thirst after eating. The older couple that run this establishment are genuinely the sweetest personable people. The restaurant is always in top condition as in being nicely decorated and clean. I believe the restaurant is only takeout, which I don't understand. Every meal I've received here has been outstanding. You will NOT be disappointed.

Easily my favorite egg roll around! And their hot and sour soup is delicious also. Great service--the people that run it are incredibly kind.

Been going there for years lost the quality. Seems like after Covid food not as good.

Disappointed in quality of food . Once a great meal but they have never come back into serving customers...take out only. We will look for a better Chinese Restaurant in our area to fulfill our expectations.
