Golden Lake Chinese restaurant

My go to Chinese takeout spot in the neighborhood! I order the lo mein almost every time and it's hits the spot. Everything else is good too, glad to have Golden Lake in the neighborhood.

Just go to China town, it's literally up the street. The food is cheaper & better. The Chinese Takeout spots in in Fairmount are terrible, I'll start off with their bland wonton soup, the wontons were not fresh and tasted previously frozen, the shrimp dumplings had hardly any flavor or filling and gave off more of a sweet than savory taste that you would normally expect, bottom line they were gross. Lastly the shrimp with broccoli was halfway good, only because it came with a nice amount of appropriately sized shrimp but there wasn't any sauce! I couldn't eat it with my white rice because the entire dish was dry, there was literally no sauce. Will never order from here ever again, like I said just do yourself a favor and order through a food service app from China town for decent authentic food.

It's a small but very clean restaurant, with polite and helpful staff. I've only been able to try a few things on the menu so far (egg rolls, lo mein, and fried rice), but all were well-prepared and delicious. Prices and portion sizes are quite fair, and I'm happy to have this place in the neighborhood. For what it's worth, they have a clean Department of Health inspection report from February 2022; available online.

The take out is delivered so quickly & it's always delicious. Love the chicken & cashew and noodle dishes.

My go-to local takeout place. Me like General Tso tofu and the lo mein. Fast and good!

Honestly food was very good when they first opened.Good not so good at all now. I gave it a few try's but Now I will go elsewhere. Food was absolutely tasteless.Service was great. Food always ready when promised but just tasteless, sorry!

I want to like this place because it's local and it's amazing having a Chinese restaurant in fairmount, but the food is honestly so subpar. Expectations for primarily an American takeout restaurant are pretty low (in a good way - just do the basics well) but this place misses the mark everywhere. Noodles are awful -- barely stir fried and often watery. Come on golden lake do better!

This was my first time visiting the restaurant. I had hot and sour soup and a cashew chicken dish with vegetables, brown rice and a delicious sauce. The food was very tasty and fresh. The soup was one of the best hot and sour soups I've eaten. The service was very quick and they spent a lot of time answering my many questions. All the servers were very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was spotless and the environment was simple and relaxing. The prices were very reasonable and the portions were generous. I will be coming back.
