My families go to spot for dim sum in Bellaire, this is their newer location near the H Mart. We never really have to wait to be seated, but then again we always go after the brunch rush. Staff have always been welcoming and super friendly. No complaints about the food, always came out fresh, delicious and in a timely manner. Parking is limited as they do share a parking lot with out establishments FYI. Id recommend this place if you're in the Bellaire area, come show your support.

Love golden dim sum! This is my favorite dim sum restaurant in Houston as of yet. They're pretty quick with service every time I'm here. I don't see how this place is badly reviewed, y'all must give this place a try! Pretty big size restaurant so there's plenty of seating room.

Not surprised this place is reviewed as a 3 star...The food tastes decent for dimsum. The standouts:Shrimp rice noodle rolls - heavily seasoned with fat shrimps insideFried shrimp ball - crispy on outside soft on insideAverage:Shrimp rice dumpling - skin of rice dumpling was too thicc and not salty enoughIt gets a 3 because 1) the fried shrimp ball wasn't cooked fully before being served and 2) my sister found a piece of metal inside one of the shrimp rice dumplings....Eat at your own risk.

Not great nor the best but it will do . Services a little slow since it's busy on a Sunday . The food was mediocre and nothing special here .

When entering the restaurant you seat yourself. Love the giant fish aquarium in the front of the restaurant and they had the Astros game on! Soup dumplings were 7/10. Jasmine tea 6/10. Shrimp Fat noodles 6/10 (with added chili sauce 7/10)There was only one other table (2 people) in the establishment. Which makes me wonder why the food took as long as it did. I believe in taking a break and giving your staff time to eat ...but 4 of the staff members sat down to eat their food after we were seated and had not even received our food yet. So we watched them eat while waiting for our food to be served. Just seemed like very poor service in my opinion.

***Ask for itemized receipt to see if gratuity has already been added***Three of us came in for a weekend lunch. Wasn't too busy at this location near H-Mart.The good 4 to 4.5/5:Steamed Shrimp Dumpling (Ha Cao) - $6Shumai - $6BBQ Pork Bun - $4Fried Crab Claw - $6Pan Fried Chive Dumplings - $5Turnip Cake - $4Shrimp Rice Roll - $7The decent 3/5:Pork spare ribs - $5: Lacking a little flavor. Doesn't come with black beans in the sauce.Sticky rice - $6: Just has sausage and pork from what I saw. No mushrooms or poultry or other ingredients.Stuffed Shrimp Eggplant: Too oily. - $5Food overall: 4/5. Item prices are fair, food comes out hot, and service is what you'd expect at a Dim Sum restaurant xD Why the 2 stars then?Integrity: 1/5. Three of us went up to the front to pay and were given just one receipt with only amount and then a line for tip. Added 20% gratuity and left but the amount felt a little high. Went back in to ask for itemized bill and it turns out they had already included an 18% gratuity. When I asked for the itemized bill, she knew exactly why I had come. Even the person in line ahead of me had come in for the exact same reason.Just seemed very scummy to add gratuity with no notice on the menu (even a small group of 3) and then try to hide it by not providing itemized bill or letting us know gratuity was already added (and then an option to provide extra gratuity). She went ahead and took off our 20% gratuity we had added pretty quickly.

This has got to be the WORST dim sum place ever! The other location is good but this location is HORRIBLE! Most the dishes were cold or soggy. The rice was so dry that it tastes stale and the employees ran around confused and yelling at each other.. they brought us a couple dishes we didn't order and had to send back. News paper on the ground to cover up a spill instead of cleaning it up and worst of all they kept yelling at one another saying "which table?!". This location charged a 18% gratuity for 4 people! WTF.. Too many good places open or opening up for this type of garbage to exist.

Golden Dim Sum certainly hits a spot for dim sum, though I wish the quality of their dim sum were better. For example, their spare ribs with black bean sauce had great taste but came out too hot, as did the char siu pork buns. The cheung fan (steamed rice noodle rolls), again, tasted good, but did not have quite the ratio of rice noodle to shrimp that I was looking for. Service was average for a dim sum restaurant; ambience is about as expected. Overall, Golden Dim Sum is an average dim sum restaurant with several flaws.

One of my favorite go to dim sum spots in Houston. Their fried dishes are the best with the right amount of crispness! I love how they cut their chicken feet which makes it easier to eat. They perfect the pan fried turnip cake, every single time. Not pictured here but some of my favorites are har gow, sui mai, shrimp balls, crab balls, shrimp rice rolls! There's never a line here which is such a huge plus! The first location always had a long wait. The food always comes out fresh and warm. The restrooms are decently clean. The decor and vibes with the second location is like the first, pretty simple and basic. Food 9/10Service 9/10

I'm honestly shocked by all the negative reviews here because I've been frequenting Golden Dimsum for years and never had any hiccups! The food is very tasty and never misses. Service can definitely be improved but treat this as your typical Chinese restaurant with swift responses.Golden Dimsum offers a wide array of dimsum selections and my go-to are always har gow, siu mai, steamed chicken feet/pork ribs, shrimp rice cakes, house special fried rice, and egg custard buns. The bbq pork buns and egg tarts are kind of mid so proceed with caution. I absolutely love their house special fried rice! The fragrant and perfectly seasoned rice, combined with a medley of fresh ingredients, creates a savory delight that keeps me coming back for more. Additionally, their egg custard buns boast a delightful balance of savory and sweetness, making them a must-try treat that adds a touch of indulgence to your dim sum feast. Seriously, don't skip desserts! For the price point, I'm totally coming back for more and taking all my family and friends with me!
