Corned beef with coleslaw on rye. Good concept, but not the big fresh deli sandwich I'd hoped for. Cold, wet packaged meat.
A much better meal, turkey BLT and fries (no ketchup this time, lesson learned)
a hamburger and a drink
scrapple egg and cheese on a long roll
the food being prepared
Menu, December 2013
Fried chicken sandwich with egg, $4.25
Crispy chicken sandwich

I love George's food truck! It's one of the healthier options (in my opinion) among food trucks and one of the more low cost ones too! What more can you ask for in a food truck right? It's located right in front of Pottruck Gym. Yes, it's one of those annoying food trucks that treadmill runners have to face while working out. lol. This truck is sandwiched between Kim's Oriental Food truck (the chinese food truck) and some Bento box truck (I'm assuming is Japanese -- and pricier). This truck offers a variety of sandwiches ranging from $3 - $5. I've been grabbing lunch here consistently for the past few weeks and anticipate frequenting this place as long as my work remains in the neighborhood. =)

Best food truck in Philly! Great sandwiches that are super cheap. And Jenny behind the counter is awesome. Highly recommend the crispy chicken on a long roll. Add an egg to it if you are feeling adventurous.

Great food truck! The lady behind the food truck is super nice and its a good change being surrounded by two Asian food trucks. They serve mostly breakfast food and sandwiches. I personally love the way they make their chicken cheesesteaks, and sometimes when I don't have change she lets me go, which is super nice. The crispy chicken sandwich is also very good. The prices in general are really cheap for lunch and everyone who goes there knows it. The food overall is not too oily and the location is pretty perfect. Right across Huntsman Hall for the Wharton Students like myself, and next to the gym for all those who care about their health. Not much more you can ask from this food truck. Wish they stayed open later, but most food trucks close early, so cannot complain too much.

Cheesesteak with cheddar and onions for $5? Yes, please. This place consistently fits my lunchtime needs. The owner now remembers my order. They have a wide selection of breakfast sandwiches on a Kaiser or long roll (25-50 cents more) all day. During the summer months, they have a tasty quart of watermelon I can't pass up for $1.75 and during the winter they have chicken noodle soup (they'll do a combo with the sandwich for that, too). Cheap coffee is surprisingly good for truck standards. They serve the needs of people who don't want to spend a bazillion dollars at some of the other establishments geared for students and staff on campus.

I don't know if it was because I haven't eaten the whole day or what, but I swear this is one of the tastiest crispy chicken burgers I have ever eaten! It was made on the spot, so it was nice and hot for the cold, windy Philly day. The meat was juicy and crispy both at once. The egg added an extra layer of delicious cholesterol. The bun was good too. Not your typical sponge burger bun. Service was pretty nice. Cheap, delicious comfort food. Why do these food trucks taunt the people working out in Pottruck?

This is such an underrated, undervisited food truck on Penn's campus. They serve mostly sandwiches and breakfast food (bacon egg & cheese/BLT/omelettes/etc.), but everything I've had is very high quality, as well as cheaper than other similar options in the area. My go-to is the crispy chicken sandwich since it's just the right size for me, and also only $3.25. AND they're open on weekends! If you're looking for a quick, cheap bite on Penn's campus, definitely stop by George's.

George's lunch truck is so cheap and so delicious. I was first introduced to their crispy chicken sandwich in the summer of 2010 by my roommate from NE. Probably been there at least once a month since- it's just so fast and the food is dependable. A sandwich, drink and bag of chips will run you a whopping $4. It is not the healthiest option but my goodness is it good! I'm also a huge fan of the BLT when I'm in the mood for a no frills good old american classic.

George's Food Truck is ironically situated right next Penn's gym and there are a few tables nearby where you can eat your food while watching people in Pottruck run on treadmills. Make sure to bring cash!George's serves mostly breakfast and other sandwiches and you can grab a solid meal for under $5. Their menu is really extensive and includes plenty of lunch options too. My friend got their $5 special which includes a large coffee, a sandwich, and a hashbrown. I got Egg Whites, Cheese, and Sausage on a Kaiser Roll. Their kaiser rolls are really soft and their sandwiches are a lot less oily than other food trucks I've tried.TLDR: Cheap and tasty sandwiches with tons of options to choose from. I have no complaints.

I've been on the lookout for cheap lunches near work and George's food truck definitely fits the bill! I've been twice now and have learned a few things:1) You can still fill your stomach for less than $6 in u-city, even though the halal trucks have (understandably) raised their prices.2) if you ask for ketchup on your fries, be prepared for the 50-50 fries to ketchup ratio.3) don't order the corned beef sandwichSo why 4 stars in spite of the above? Apart from affordability, the service is fast and friendly, and they have tons of non pork sandwich options, including a totally solid turkey bacon BLT. The fries are perfectly crispy and excellent with s&p. And the location, directly across from a window lined with treadmills, is absolutely hilarious. Nothing like wiping grease off my beard while watching Penn students run for their lives. I can't wait to try more things on the menu!Oh, and don't forget to tip!!!!
