I went to Gaylord for my first time the other night and I really enjoyed it! To start, our server was very kind and attentive our entire meal. We started off with some vegetarian samosas for the table which were very tasty and everyone enjoyed. For my meal, I ordered the paneer makhani and it was really good - I would definitely order again but given how good all the food was, I may try something new next time. We did not order dessert as we were all so full from our main meals but can say we all left very full and happy with our experience. I highly recommend Gaylord if you like Indian food or if you are interested in trying it for your first time. Thank you, Gaylord, for a wonderful first experience and cannot wait to come back!

Gaylord has been around for probably 15+ years and has plenty of free parking. The menu is large and they offer a la carte options as well as a buffet option. They also have a full bar. I was here with a group of 4 on a Friday night. It was fairly empty throughout however more people did dine in starting around 8pm. As I walked into the restaurant I noticed an unpleasant smell. Seemed to be of spoiled milk and meat that's been sitting out. This smell was present throughout my experience here. Our server was attentive. For drinks we wanted water however were asked what else we wanted to drink several times. It got to the point where I felt uncomfortable so I ordered a mango lassi in hopes for it to stop. It didn't... the others that decided to stick with water were asked what else they wanted to drink even after our entrees were finished and plates were clean. The mango lassi tasted spoiled and was served hot but with ice that melted within minutes. For food we decided to order a few entrees and share them family style. I enjoyed the garlic naan. Anything drowning in garlic is a good choice for me. The entrees had some flavor however lacking salt. The portion for the chicken biryani was generous. The curry dishes were full of sauce and lacked an acceptable amount of protein. Once our food was brought over we were then surrounded with flies and other small bugs. At this point I had lost my appetite. Overall my experience was not pleasant however that's not to say it will be the same for others.

To be honest service was a bit slow. After ordering the initial dishes the server practically disappeared till we were done. No checking in at all. Also ordered more water a couple times and it took forever to come out. The lamb vindaloo sauce was flavorful but the meat was a bit tough. For a fine dining experience I expected the sauces to come out more presentable besides in plastic cups. The whole experience felt a bit off.A few ants started making their way up on the walls behind us. Would like a more sanitary or cleaner dining experience. The wins: Assorted appetizer was crunchy and had a bunch of fried spinach, potato. I found the lamb skewers and the garlic naan to be the best dishes. Free rice provided on the restaurant.

First time here for their lunch buffet, and we were pleasantly pleased be with the selection. Upon entry, we were greeted by friendly staff. Once they showed us to a table, they explained that fresh naan will be served shortly. Meanwhile, we went to the buffet table. If you wanted to experience a variety of Indian food, here's one for you. There were a range of foods from samosa (I liked that it was a mini one), assortment of curry, dal, chicken tandoori, fried fish, puri, and assortment of sauces. Don't forget about desserts. I also order masala chai to go with my desserts. Make sure to check their lunch buffet hours. We were at the lunch buffet on a Friday.

I dined here this past New Year's Day since I was craving Indian food and also because of the very enticing email Gaylord sent me about their New Year's Day Lunch Buffet! (I'm on their email list and also follow them on Facebook and Instagram)! Anyway, I was SO glad and grateful they were open on New Year's Day, since NO OTHER Indian restaurants were! (BOOOOO!!!) The buffet was great--fresh, hot and so very hearty and comforting on that very dreary, rainy day! The servers were very attentive and pleasant (as they've always been since the 1990s, which is when I first dined with them)! The inside was clean (including the washroom)--just as it's always been too! They could use some updating of the interior design, but oh well, one miracle at a time--I'm just grateful they made it through that ridiculous pandemic!!!

Absolutely lovely experience. Best food I've had in Chicago the past week I've been here. It was local, the price was fair, and the restaurant itself was so very luxurious in ambiance. Perfect for birthdays, and many crowd pleaser dishes. The service itself was also very good. Our server had put out multiple shareable portions and dishes so we could get as much out of this experience as possible. However I can not remember his name. To the gentlemen who indulged my grandmother inquiry "how do you say car in Indian?" Thank you, and I'm sorry lol.

This place is pathetically dirty. The carpet is so unclean and it makes you feel just want to get out of it. I doubt it is owned by an Indian. This restaurant is so dirty. Now about food - they have the same gravy in all 3 entree we purchased. Just added different spice flavor. The Grill paneer had Kasturi Methi with the same gravy. Then the Paneer Pasanda had the same gravy with almonds shaved on it. And then mutter paneer had just mutter in it but the same gravy. How lazy can these guys be? Are customers stupid to not realize it? The service was OK. But the worst thing was the restaurant is so old and dirty. The food is expensive. They need to update the ambiance.

Excellent Indian food!!The waiter presented me with complimentary chips, served with 2 dipping sauces. They were very good. I ordered Murg Mahani (Butter Chicken), Black Pepper/ Cilantro Nan, Mango Chutney and Indian Mixed Pickle. A truly memorable meal!

This review has been on the back burner, because I'm still stunned by this place.Stunned in both good and bad ways, and I can't quite make sense of it, but I'll try my worst to infer.First off, the server comes to our table, grabs the drink menu and demands that I order a bottle of wine. It was surreal. I retorted, "we don't drink alcohol!" He relented. Then we order our food (without demands or incident). Whew. Our condiments come in disposable containers. Fine dining? Eh, no.Then the food: mostly good, though my spouse hated their Gobi Manchurian. They said it tasted like spaghetti sauce. But I quite enjoyed the tomato-y spaghetti with cauliflower meatballs, as it were, even if it wasn't typical. The other entree was more typical, but also good. (Sorry, it's been so long that I don't remember what else we got.)Their naan bread assortment was also above average, a nice variety and well made.To conclude, our server gave me a blessing and told me that Mark is a philosopher's name and that's why the gospel of Mark has a different tone than the other books, since it was written from a philosophical perspective. Very interesting. My Catholic childhood didn't teach me that. Also, I never got a blessing from Burger King, Olive Garden or any other restaurant, so I'll take that as a plus. Wait, should I take that as a plus? Well, I will.My inference is that this place used to be better and that maybe almost everyone is depressed here and maybe that we should show some compassion in general.I don't think we'll be coming back, given that we're not really out and about in the village of Schaumburg, but we'll see what happens.
