Gao's Kabob

I got the dan dan noodles along with the beef and chicken skewers. Everything was delicious but I do wish the skewers were hotter as they came out a bit lukewarm. The dan dan noodles reminded me of the Vietnamese vermicelli dish and was a nice take. The workers were sweet and answered all our questions well. Service was slow and we had to wait a while before our check was brought to us but only 2 people were working, so be patient! The venue was a bit small but my friend and I did not have to wait too long to get seated despite how busy it was. There was also live karaoke that was amazing to listen to while eating.

I have been to many chinese skewers in the bay area and in houston and by far Gao's kabob is my favorite. The regular spicy seasoning is perfect for me. I love both the big and small beef and lamb skewers. They were so succulent and tender. I especially enjoy the bigger skewers because they had more fat in it, which makes it more juicy. I also recommend the garlic eggplant, which is out of this world! The staff was friendly and attentive. Always replacing water bottle before it is even empty and did it many times without even asking. The staff also changed my plate and removed the skewers quite often. *When i was leaving and walking out the door, the female waitress ran in front of me to open the door as i exit! Wow!* Superb customer service.The interior is well lit so you can see all the delicious skeweres that you have ordered. There is a karoke machine that you can sing if you are brave enough to show your skills. If you are craving chinese skewers and are in the immediate area, definitely go to Gao's. Gao's is way better than Friendship bbq that is across the street, which serves the same type of food.

I love this place! The standout dishes are the Dan Dan noodles and the King Eggplant. The sauce for the noodles is so addicting and nutty and I like to save it to eat with other items on the menu. The king eggplant is huge and has a nice barbecue flavored seasoning. All the beef, pork, and chicken kabobs are good... You can't go wrong with any of them. They all have a good amount of meat and fat. I will say though... I would not recommend this place if you do not like cumin. It is present in almost every skewer. I personally love cumin so that's why I am such a big fan of their food... they also have live karaoke which I have definitely taken advantage of! Great place to hang out with friends late at night.

Very good food and I love the music. Their price is affordable and they even have many promotions. Service is perfect and all waiters are very friendly. These are two of my favorite drinks.

Got lamb, beef, and chicken kabobs! They have happy hour 4-6pm for $1 lamb kabobs and they're really good! However, they all have the same spice and taste. The abalone wasn't worth it because they are very small. There are complimentary edamame, peanuts, and sunflower seeds on the paper plates. You may order everything from your phone by scanning the QR code at the table. There's also a karaoke stage where you can sing if you want.

The food here is delicious! We tried the spicy chicken w/ flat noodle, kimchi fried rice, dan dan noodles, fried cold noodle, and lots of skewers. The dan dan noodles were served cold adding a refreshing & savory element to our meal. The spicy chicken w/ flat noodle is HUGE. The chicken fell off of the bone and there were lots of potatoes that soaked in the delicious numbing sauce. The skewers all had a nice smoky flavor. I do wish that the hot dishes were warmer when they were served to us, but there were only 2 waiters working the entire restaurant. If you do come, be prepared to wait a bit, and the staff may only speak minimal English

First time here ! Nice and welcome greeting. Cozy , clean, bright dinning area. Great guess service. Food are very good . Very reasonable price. Definitely coming back.

If you're looking for Chinese skewers, you have to try this place out! The lamb, beef, squid, and kimchi fried rice are must haves. They even have items like intestine or silkworm if you're into that! Everything is reasonably priced and taste great.Service is top notch, we ordered everything off a tablet, and the servers came around multiple times to top off our water and provide more plates and utensils.The restaurant is nice and cozy, with a stage for anyone brave enough to sing public karaoke. Being a Chinese restaurant, they play Chinese songs all night!

Highly recommended by some friends so we stopped in on a Friday night. It was actually quite busy and we were lucky to be seated as soon as we did. Scan the qr code on the table and order food online! We tried pretty much everything- my favorites were the beef, lamb, and the kimchi fried rice! Definitely coming back!

Did anyone else get food poisoning after eating here on May 18, 2024?My boyfriend and I rarely eat out but decided to go here for dinner and now we are both sick.The food was really tasty, but I hope we get better.
