This family-owned & operated bakery is a hidden gem nestled amidst Houston's vibrant culinary landscape that transports you to the heart of France with its delectable pastries and lunch offerings. The café has an ambience of a traditional Parisian boulangerie with the inviting aroma of freshly-baked bread. For those seeking an authentic taste of Paris, I wholeheartedly recommend this place, whose Executive Chef is a 5th-generation French Baker. I was particularly impressed by the quality of the Gluten-Free options.....Prepare to be wowed by Chef Ramain's artistry and flavor mastery on display at French Gourmet Bakery.

French Gourmet Bakery always comes through for me in a pinch. If I ever need a chocolate cake for my daughter on short notice, this place serves up an exceptional chocolate cake. Moist, velvety, and delicious to the last slice.Most recently I was after a birthday cake the day of, and their staff did a great job writing happy birthday on the cake for her. Not a big ask, but they're always super accommodating. Prices are about average for the inner loop, but worth every penny!

Wanted to pick up pastries after grocery shopping at Trader joes and found this place nearby! Got the chocolate croissant and chocolate thumbprint cookies. LOVED the chocolate thumbprint cookies, the chocolate was decadent and fresh!

My history with FGB goes back to before I was born (seriously). Circa 1989, my dad carried a FGB chocolate raspberry cake on his lap for the entirety of a four and a half hour flight to California to give to my mom, who he was dating at the time. Needless to say, I probably have FGB to thank in part for being alive.But jokes aside, their cakes are the best, especially the chocolate raspberry. And on the very, very rare occasion that I've had a problem with my order, their customer service (Lauren specifically) has been exceptionally helpful and pleasant. Honestly, I was blown away by how receptive to feedback they were and determined to remedy the situation. You guys are the best, thank you!

French Gourmet Bakery is our preferred indulgence for special occasions. For breakfast, we love the bacon and egg croissants, and chocolate croissants. For my Birthday I look forward to getting an Italian Crème Cake, which is my favorite. We try to stop by weekly for cookies. The thumbprints have been our family's favorites for decades, but recently we tried the coconut cookies which are unbelievably awesome. It is probably the best cookie ever. The chocolate chewy cookie is also awesome. My son's birthday is next week and he has asked me to make my marinated beef sliders. Of course, we buy the dinner rolls from the French Gourmet Bakery. To my utter delight today, they chased me down in the parking lot to give me some coconut cookies they had in the back. It is not only Houston's Best Bakery, they go out of their way to make you feel special as a valued customer. Thank you for your much appreciated kindness and best wishes for the New Year!

I should have known this was not going to be a good experience when they asked if I wanted my baquettes in PLASTIC or paper. So disappointing to not be able to find real French baguettes in a shop named the "French Gourmet Bakery". Their baguettes have the consistency of a hamburger bun! Soft on the inside, not chewy, and soft on the outside, not hard, crunchy and crackly as it should be. I once read that if you didn't have your lap full of little hard crunchy flakes after consuming the baguette, you weren't eating a real French Baguette. So true. The service was friendly and efficient, and the place was very clean and looked like you would expect a French bakery to look. Sadly I won't be going back as they don't offer what I'm looking for. To bad as their location was perfect for me.

I went there today at the hispana with the glasses told us we would have to take our lunch to go, that there were no tables. I have never been told this. There were tables outside. There was no reason to say to take order to go. If you do not want our business just say it plainly.

Best King Cake ever, even better than the New Orleans cakes. Everyone at French Gourmet is friendly and customer centered. A great setting for lunch or just a cup of coffee.
