I've ordered delivery from Frannie Nick's twice since covid-19. Each time I felt like I was eating a good home cooked meal. The standout star both times was the cheesesteak eggrolls. They are delicious. As good as you will find anywhere in the city. That's the only dish that reminds you that you have ordered from a restaurant. The fried chicken, macaroni & cheese, and string beans have that homemade taste that makes you feel like you made yourself the plate of food at a family dinner. In this era of covid-19, when a lot of sould food family dinners have been canceled, Frannie Nick's really hits the spot when I'm craving soul food.

I ordered from Uber Eats with high expectations on this Black Owned restaurant. The food delivered on time and hot. However, the food did not meet expectations. The honey crack chicken wings have a seafood after taste and the sauce was thin. Eating the chicken wings and then tasting shrimp is the number one frying rule: DONT FRY POULTRY AND SEAFOOD in the same oil! The macaroni & Cheese was bland and sat in a tub of butter. No eye appealing cheese gooey mouth watering experience. The noodles were unseasoned and the cheese was non existent. Then the potato salad had too much paprika and the flavors all were drowned out if there were any there.

Frannie Nicks is a new black women owned BBQ/soul food joint in Queen Village. Their menu includes fried/grilled chicken, shrimp, brisket, alfredo pasta, and sides galore. They're offering great daily deals if you order pickup too. I ordered pickup on a Friday, when they offer 3 sides with their entrees instead of the usual 2, and that was a ton of food!I got the grilled chicken wings with crack sauce, brisket, mac n cheese, collard greens, string beans, sweet potatoes, and potato salad. This was enough for four meals! The chicken wings stood out, they were perfectly cooked and the rub and sauce was delicious. The brisket was disappointing however, it was very dry. I'm not sure if this was a fluke but I wouldn't order it again if it isn't improved. All the sides were delicious! The collard greens and green beans were a nice touch for an otherwise heavy meal.Ordering online was simple and service was smooth and friendly. Overall a good experience and meal and I'd love to try the fried chicken or fish next time.

So, it was my girlfriend's birthday last week and I wanted to treat her to a nice dinner at my house alongside a good glass of champagne. She initially wanted Jamaican, but changed her mind last minute to soul food. I used an app called EatOkra and found Frannie Nicks. I ordered 2 grilled chicken platters. The chicken was good (grilled chicken is always good to me), the cabbage was a little greasy, but good, and the Mac and cheese was ok! I'd go back again for sure. I loved how they gave a bag of chips and a cookie with each platter and the muffins were super cute. Looking forward to a few minor improvements

NO STARS HERETHIS FOOD WAS HORRIBLE AND I ONLY GOT PART OF MY DELIVERY VIA BLACK AND MOBILE . They can never get another dime from me . I wouldn't buy water. Chicken was not cook well enough sweet potatoes blah fried shrimp was extremely basic and the cabbage was doing the most. Can't say what the seafood salad taste like Becky they forgot to put in the bag along with my Buffalo sauce. Before ordering JUST DON'T.

Pains me to say this but I was not impressed. Had the honey crack wings and shrimp. Wings (sauce too) nor shrimp had ANY seasoning. Plus, the chicken tasted old! Almost like it was spoiled!! I was really surprised after reading all of the reviews but for me, it's a no. 2 stars for the food being hot and the chicken being crispy just the way I like it. Other than that, I won't be going back. My husband felt the same way. Please don't give out old chicken. It's obvious to consumers it's not fresh. Didn't finish the order. Hubby and I had 2 wingettes a piece and then gave up. Couldn't get past the spoiled taste.

I'm all for supporting black businesses, so I gave this new spot a try. Food was delivered promptly and packaged well. However, the food itself could use some work. The mashed potatoes had way too much garlic and appeared brown in color. The mac and cheese was extremely bland and pale. And the chicken breast was heavily breaded and overly salty. The yams and fried whiting were satisfactory. I really would like to see small black businesses succeed, so I truly hope the restaurant takes the feedback into consideration without taking personal offense.

OK. Now, we've all experienced going to a restaurant that got generally good reviews but which left us wondering what previous reviewers were smoking when they wrote said opinions. This isn't one of those instances. Looking for a Groupon deal for something to eat in Philly after spending a nice afternoon in Fairmount Park, I stumbled on Frannie Nick's. I've never stumbled like that before. When I walked in to get a table ahead of the other three in my party, there were only two people in the whole place besides a waitress and a couple of little girls running around the basically-empty place. I was asked if it was takeout or dine-in. I was offered a booth or a table and chose a table with four seats in the last room with windows facing the sidewalk. Within ten minutes the place was filled, busy, and sounded like an open-door cafe in the middle of Bourbon Street in NOLA in the middle of French Quarter Festival. Although we didn't share the same room as the majority of the revelers, we felt like part of the party. The menu made me realize that what I felt (which I thought was hunger) when I had walked in was nothing. After just looking through the offerings, I was drooling. The staff (waitress as well as a sweet woman who, I believe, was the owner) were repeatedly at the table providing almost everything we needed (they should have some tartar sauce available for the whiting - for the white people), asking if there was anything they could do for us, and filling our table to overflowing with pure gastronomic happiness. We started with both types of the Soul Rolls (hot, crunchy, and delectable - what a mix of flavors! - ten out of ten all day long!!!), seafood salad (cold, Old Bay seasoned with crabmeat and pasta - 7 of ten), and Honey Crack Wings (sweet, sticky, golden - an 8 out if ten). They had a Margarita special (well worth the $10 - made with fresh strawberries), and $1 jumbo shrimp (Saturdays only) with we ordered fried (grilled also available) and were crunchy outside & juicy inside. The kids' portion of chicken fingers (with two sides) was ample and delicious (although dipping sauces besides ketchup would have been appreciated). [By the way, get some Mac & Cheese SOME WAY into your hole! It's DA BOMB!!!] But the crown jewel of the meal was the fried whiting. WOW! Perfectly salty and breaded, tender and fluffy. Everyone was thrilled. I didn't order an entree, myself, as there was so much to share at the table (and to take home for leftovers) that it would have been ridiculous. However, when I return next time (and you KNOW I will...) I'm already salivating for the Carnival Chicken Crunch Sandwich. A breaded chicken breast with honey crack sauce ON TWO FUNNEL CAKES!!!!! Holy hell!!! I'm getting my hands around one of those babies and then going straight to the hospital for an angioplasty!! I know it'll all be worth it!! Thanks, Frannie Nick's. You went above and beyond!!!!

I'll start with the good. The staff is amazing. We met the owner/head chef upon entering. Sweet right? There's a star. Then we had tart and bitter lemonade, followed by smothered chicken with yams and veggies. The gravy had spinach in it. There's isn't a world where spinach belongs in smothered chicken. I tried to season the rest myself but it couldn't be salvaged. Maybe the food was out of date, idk.

Randomly tried this place because we saw it on Groupon and figured we would give it a try. The food exceeded our expectations. The chicken & fish was fried to perfection! The yams had the perfect consistency & sweetness. The seafood salad was amazing and had great flavor. Mac & cheese was also very delish! Would definitely order again & tell friends. I hate that this place just opened right before COVID19 hit and pray that they get through this.....
