Franklin Southern Maid Donuts

I've never had Southern Maid until recently when my girlfriend gave me a couple of kolaches from a SM location in Sugar Land. The sausages were wrapped in a fluffy and soft roll that seemed to unravel as you ate it. I came to this location in search of kolaches like those, but the ones I found were completely different. They were hard, dry, and didn't even have the same type of breading. On top of that the location was smokey.. Maybe they burned something while cooking? Now I already smell bad and it's barely 7 AM.

Terrible donut. Tasted like old oil was used. Had there coffee too and tasted awful. Trashed both of those items after taking one bite and a few sips.

Pregnancy cravings brought me here today with my 2-year-old son. It was our first time and we were greeted instantly and with a smile. I got a bottle of milk (good selection of non-coffee beverages), a sausage and cheese kolache (the bun had that perfect subtle sweetness and it was not chewy or dry. The donuts were very fresh and my son was delighted when they threw in an extra half dozen of donut holes for free, for him. We were there long enough to see a few patrons come and go, and all seemed happy and seemed like friendly regulars. But really, it is hard to be sad in a donut shop and this one definitely makes me smile. Highly recommend.

Forgot I was supposed to pick up breakfast this morning for my work team. This place happened to be close to my apartment and was on the way to work. Came in and was greeted nicely. It was pretty vacant and pretty dark in the baking area (it was like 9 am though...so I guess after the morning rush). I saw kolaches on open racks behind the counter which was really what I wanted for my team. Ordered some kolaches and the girl was so nice and told me the prices were on the wall behind me (didn't really need to know but it's nice she pointed it out). Ordered some random donuts and the girl struggled a bit with the register but eventually ran my card and gave me my receipt. Brought the food to my team who really liked everything. I ate the sausage and cheese kolaches which were plain but had good bread. I'll definitely come back if I need to get my team breakfast again.

Food was wonderful, especially my visit being so late in the day. Kolaches were perfectly made. So soft and fluffy, freshly prepared same day. The donuts were delicious as well. To add to my experience was the amazing customer service from the front girl. Needless to say, we will be returning, soon.

VERY good kolaches! The bread is sweet and taste delicious, I'm not a huge fan of Shipleys kolaches so I've been trying to find a good place in Houston and this one did the job. Thank you!!

donuts?.... more like HEAVEN this shop uniquely describes the real definition of southern made donuts. Never been more satisfied and impressed in my life; and I come from a bakery family truly a 10/10 in my book!!!

Very good donuts. Very nice staff. Would recommend if you're looking for some soft, delicious donuts.

Arrived at this location 12 min before the closing time on Sat, April 27th. The location was already closed even though their signage clearly indicated they are open until 1pm on Saturdays. Another customer was also trying to get in a min or two after me & I informed the doors were already locked. Very disappointing to say the least. I'm not in the area often and I was looking forward to getting some of their donuts to take home to my family. There were employees inside & looked right at us thru the doors. Needless to say,I won't go back. EVER!!
