The Mexican

The valet will have a line, so arrive early. We didn't see any public parking nearby, so be prepared to valet.Reservation or not they will not seat you until your entire party arrives. The dress code was debatable, we saw plenty of jeans, tennis shoes, bra tops & the girl seated next to us literally had her but cheeks showing her skirt was so short. There was also plenty of skin in the scant clothing the girls around the bar were wearing.HOWEVER! Our waiter, Carlos was outstanding. We were originally seated on the patio but the sun was shining directly in my husbands eyes so he moved us, without us even asking. He kept our waters full, meals coming in hot, but the best part was he was so joyful. He had a smile the entire night, never rushed us, genuinely seemed happy to be there working on this Saturday night. The chips were tasty, the salsas weren't anything special although the presentation was unique.The margarita was tasty, but again nothing special and there was so much ice it was gone quickly. My husband tried The Mexican with blanco and it was really tasty.We originally decided to start with the Cripsy Pork Belly off the Hot Shareables menu and it was SO DELICIOUS we decided to order a few more Hot Shareables as our meal instead of entrees. CRISPY PORK BELLY - the portion size was exactly what it should have been - plenty to share. The fresh tortillas, sauce & sides were so tasty. This was truly a wonderful start.BARBACOA DE ARRACHERA - Again the portion size was excellent, plenty to share. This also came with the yummy fresh tortillas and sides. The meat was so tender and so tasty we could have ordered two of these.CHICHARRÓN DE RIBEYE - our least favorite of the night. It was good, but we didn't realize the meat would be served in a bowl of guacamole. My husband is not a fan of avocado or guacamole so he tried a few bites of the meat, which was good, but finished off the Barbocoa while I dipped fresh tortilla in the guacamole. We were so full, but a nearby table ordered the Cuatro Leches and my husband couldn't resist. He said it was the best he'd ever had. We agreed there was still plenty on the menu we wanted to try, so we'll be back!

I was debating between giving a 3 star or a 4 star for the reasons below. 3 stars:~ When checking in they told us to wait at the bar until our table was ready, but each open bar seat that came available was immediately reserved. One half of the bar was empty with reserved signs on a Saturday night with patrons coming in. This is not acceptable and makes us patrons feel lessor than. Because of this alone I will not return. ~ New server who could not remember anything we ordered, another server had to keep coming to confirm our order. ~ Food was just average. The menu looks terrific but the end result was simply average. 4 Stars:~ Drinks are great and strong ~ The couple we came with left their credit card and the manager pulled my number and consistently tried to get a hold of me to let me know and arrange pickup, that o appreciated. ~ Bartender, I believe named Ryan was very attentive. ~ Ambiance was great in the large dining room. Between the reasons I would give this restaurant a 3.5 stars but since I can't I went with a 3 star because service and food was average.

The service was absolutely awful--borderline disrespectful. It felt like we were being targeted because of our race, which is completely unacceptable. Our server didn't even bother to smile or show the slightest bit of courtesy. If you dislike your job that much, maybe it's time to find something else. I could see the server at the table next to us be much more friendly and attentive, with a smile on his face. While I'll admit the food was good, it always is. The service completely ruined the experience. HORRIBLE SERVICE--I can't stress that enough. Save your money and visit places like Meso Maya or Javier's instead. Both offer not only amazing, authentic Mexican food but also a warm, welcoming ambiance. Skip this place if you value good service.

Pulling up you may not think it, but The Mexican is a top notch spot. High Profile, trendy-fancy, be seen kinda place. Ambiance and service are delivered as soon as you enter. Definitely want reservations and ours was right on time. Valet Parking services were also very efficient and friendly. After seating, our server Dom visited quickly and off we went. Did a few Margaritas (The Mexican, El Rey, and Mujeres Divinas were our drinks of choice).All three were great! Dom's service was top level all night. He and his team were available when we needed anything. A+ for Dom and Team. Our party hit the favorites - Sea Bass Ceviche (Starters), Del Mar Enchilada Trio, Jumbo Scallops & Camarones, Suizas de Pollo Enchiladas. IMO the food was good, but not quite the elite meal the expense suggests. Good date night or if you are out to impress, but not really a put it in the rotation type of spot for me. The Mexican is a beautiful restaurant with a trendy vibe, and even the restrooms are Instagram-worthy. While the ambiance was impressive, the overall experience didn't quite meet my expectations. We started with the ceviche appetizer, which was absolutely delicious--a definite highlight. My date ordered the jumbo scallops and camarones, while I had the American Wagyu. Unfortunately, the wagyu was overcooked, which was disappointing for such a premium dish.The service was another downside. I felt rushed throughout the evening, with the server constantly asking if I was ready to order. It didn't feel like attentive service but more like they were trying to flip tables as quickly as possible. What really threw us off was when my date was told he had to keep his jacket on because his sweater had a design on it. Their dress code mentions graphic logo T-shirts, not sweaters, so this felt unnecessarily strict and inconsistent.While the restaurant is visually stunning and the ceviche was amazing, the rushed service, overcooked wagyu, and awkward enforcement of the dress code left us underwhelmed.

Back at The Mexican and the food is always on point. Mashed potatoes are amazing!! However, the seating arrangement was a bit disappointing. We were seated quite close to two other tables, and we could hear their conversations clearly which took away from the overall experience. I'd still highly recommend this place for food, but I hope they can work on seating arrangements and a more comfortable dining experience. Service was great though and our server was highly knowledgeable.

This place is cool. Recommend trying for snacks or light meals.Service was great! Explained the drinks very well and suggested ones to try. We ordered quite a bit off the menu to share and one thing I loved is for one of the apps and the dessert, the waiter split up the food onto each of our plates so we weren't all digging in to the same plate and all had equal portions. Highly recommend doing apps and dessert. I wasn't particularly in love with any of the entrees. * ENTREE: Steak and bone marrow tacos were a huge let down, they were dry and couldn't taste bone marrow at all * APP: Sea bass ceviche (get it) so good* APP: Cauliflower app was a little heavy on the sauce but it tasted phenomenal anyway* ENTREE: mushroom enchiladas were the best entree we had but only comes with 2* DESSERT: pistachio ice cream dessert cake - probably best thing we tried. Ice cream and crunch pieces.The bathrooms were super cute, kinda weird but a good photo opportunity.Again, try it once and see for yourself.

I simply cannot wait to go back! From the moment we walked in, we had friendly greetings. The staff go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. The entire atmosphere of the restaurant screams good vibes. There was good music, the decor is amazing and just has a good happy feel to it. The food was also top notch! I would highly recommend this restaurant. It was our first time here and they made us feel so welcomed, very much appreciated!

A large group of us came here to celebrate our good friend's milestone birthday. We had the large table in the main room. After we all settled into our seats, we ordered a round of drinks. I started off with the El Rey Margarita, which was fantastic.As for the starters, I enjoyed the Octopus, Sashimi, and the Sea Bass Ceviche. For my main entree, I went with the NY Strip and it was cooked to perfection for me. Throughout the night, our waitress was almost hovering over our table, which is a good thing. Waters were constantly being filled. She was as attentive and as quick to react as I have ever seen in a higher caliber restaurant. The environment exudes a strong party atmosphere and patrons were definitely dressed to impress. The Mexican gives off the vibes of a nightclub so be prepared to have fun.

Ancho Chile Caesar, Jumbo Scallops & Camerones, Campechana,Tequila Tasting I was pretty nervous for our back to back events two nights in a row at The Mexican in the same private room given our last experience. However, I was delightfully surprised! Our first night's event was with our usual set menu,and they did a much better job with the cook on the salmon and steak,which were all enjoyed. Our second night's event was open menu,and i absolutely loved everything i ordered! The Caesar salad is so flavorful with a little bit of spice and so decadent with the cheese! The Scallops are so tender and delicious,and the shrimp excellent. I was so excited to try the Campechana,which was so fun and tasty with layers of crunch and vanilla ice cream. The tequila tasting was also as fun as ever!!
