I knew Haywire wouldn't let me down for a Texas-style lunch with the future in-laws from out of state. We ordered an appetizer and 3 dishes to share so everyone could try everything. These portions are pretty generous, so it was just perfect for all four of us without leftovers.\\ elk tacos- comes with 3 tacos but our server offered to make it 4 so we could each have one--i don't remember if we were charged extra but better than having to order two orders for 6 total--it was so thoughtful!- the meat was well seasoned and not gamey- loved the fresh microgreen garnish\\ baby back ribs- the meat actually fell off the bone- appreciated the extra sauce on the side so we could add more if we wanted- 6 ribs so good sharing size for our group of four\\ chicken fried steak- delectably crunchy on the outside and tender Texas wagyu on the inside- served with savory mashed potatoes and juicy green beans that had a good snap to them\\ shrimp and catfish- this completed our surf and turf experience--the grilled shrimp were large and made a strong impression on the eye and palate- the catfish was also tender and juicyThere was a garnish on everything, so over the complex savory and sweet flavors, there was a distinct aromatic chive flavor that seemed like a Haywire signature--some may like it, and some may want a dish without it.We walked because we stayed nearby, but there's an underground parking garage with validation.Overall, great flavors, friendly service, and fun Texas-style decor that amused us. We went for a walk through Klyde Warren Park and the DMA after lunch to digest because it was all so close. Would recommend as a date idea for a significant other or friends!

The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, making it a nice spot to grab a meal and a drink. The drinks were well-made, with a good selection to choose from. I chose the espresso. It was good. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, which made for an enjoyable dining experience.Overall, it's a good place to unwind with good food, drinks, and a casual vibe. I'd definitely go back!

Fantastic spot. In a nice area surrounded things to do. The food is phenomenal. I went with a group of 15 people and half the table ordered rib eye and everyone loved it. The pecan pie is one of the best ones I've ever had, I'd go back just for that but the steak is the best I've had in a long time too. It's a must go to restaurantService was great and did a great job handling a table of 15. I'm looking forward to eating here again.

My friend told me about this place and said I had to give it a try. Loved the vibe, very swanky. We got a burrata and heirloom tomato starter that was DELICIOUS! Zero complaints on that one! For my main, I ordered the petite filet with the tallow fries. Those fries.....absolutely scrumptious. Wouldn't kick them out of the bed for eating crackers. We got the bread pudding for dessert and OH MY GOODNESS was it good! THE ONLY ISSUE was I ordered the petite filet medium well. When took the first couple of bites, everything was fine. When I started eating more of it, it was a bit closer to medium rare. The staff was VERY nice and did offer to make me a new steak. I did decline because I was I starting to get full. I'm definitely planning on getting it again because it was really good!!

Haywire is a trendy spot in Uptown Dallas that our hosts took us to. It's a cool and classy environment with a slight Western theme. The service is fast and friendly. As for food, there were some standouts and letdowns. We started with the mini elk tacos. They were good, but nothing that is going to leave you drooling for more. The burrata and tomato dish was next, which was about what you'd expect but a tad lacking on the amount of burrata and the tomatoes might not have been quite ripe as I've never had such trouble getting a fork through a tomato as this. For mains, I opted for the prime rib and chimchurri rice. Neither held up well. The rice was interesting, but a little bland. The prime rib was well below average. It was borderline cold upon arrival with very little seasoning/crust to speak of. The only thing to help it have some flavor were the horseradish and their homemade steak sauce (which was fantastic).Luckily, things ended on a high note. The whiskey bread pudding was solid and everyone raved about it, but I'm going to tell you that if you visit... get the Route 66 Pecan Pie. It is one of the best desserts I've ever had and while I do love pecan pie (yes, there is a bias), even those who don't in our group spoke highly of how buttery and rich it was. It's a can't miss IMO!Overall, was disappointed with Haywire but the dessert kept this thing in a 3-star range.

Came here with some friends and decided to get a tomohawk steak platter. It was pretty good we asked for everything to be cooked medium rare but it was really rare on the tomohawk and the strip. The filet was cooked well on the left side. We didn't mind too much but when spending $250 on a platter it would have been nice to have it at the temp we requested. Also the water here tasted grassy it wasn't good. Everything else was decent we had a good server and we liked the ambiance of the restaurant.

I took my husband here for a special occasion during our vacation with our daughter. He wanted some place a little bit upscale, but sticking with the southern bbq theme which dominated our vacation. The ambiance is upscale rustic with dim lighting without being considered romantic. It was definitely a cool feel. Our server was very nice and attentive answering our questions and even playing with our toddler. Kids were definitely welcome here even though it clearly wasn't their marketed crowd. We sat at a booth and ordered a few drinks and appetizer to start. We got the fried green tomatoes. They were absolutely delicious! The breading was crispy and the bacon jam enhanced the salty/savory flavor profile. We were incredibly surprised by how good they were. For my entree, I got the baby back ribs. They were fall off the bone with smokey, savory flavors. It was very good. It was very good and came with sides of cornbread and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was standard good, but the cornbread was delicious. The perfect pairing of sweet and savory while being moist. It was very good! Plus, you got all that food for around $23. I was left feeling very full. During our dinner, I had to use the bathroom and everything was clean and well maintained. You know if the bathrooms are clean, they must care about cleanliness. We were very happy with our time here and I recommend if you are in the area.

This is a lovely establishment that has a rustic southern charm while also still providing a fine dining experience. We loved everything about this place. Great drinks, great food, and great ambiance. We dined for brunch and the food did not disappoint. And our server was so great with the kids in our party. I would personally not bring my kids for dinner because it seems like an adult only establishment in the evening, but during the day the kids were fine.

I've had Haywire MANY times. In person and just yesterday I ordered it via UberEats. I will 100% tell you my salad was half as big as it usually is, and the quality was subpar. In person everything is simply wonderful! The salads, the ribs, the tacos! All great choices. I would NOT recommend a Togo order. Oh and the homestead cake is exceptional.

Stopped by for weekend brunch and we had a really nice time! I can't remember our server's name, but he was a lovely college man with a great attitude. I started with a delicious Guava Jalapeno Margarita. Highly recommend as it was very refreshing in the hot summer weather. Foodwise, tried the following: Mini Elk Tacos - very tasty, but I would never be able to tell it was elk if the menu didn't say it was. The other flavors covered the elk too much making it a bit disappointing.Barbacoa Chilaquiles - the absolute worst chilaquiles my guy and I have ever had in our lives. Extremely soggy chips, which is unfortunate because the barbacoa was delicious. We actually ended up sending it back because it was too gross to eat (note: this is definitely not how chilaquiles should be despite what the kitchen staff says).Wagyu Pastrami Hash - this was insanely good! Such a unique and delicious dish! We could not get enough of it. The flavors were perfectly balanced and complimented one another in every way. Would come back here for the guava jalapeno margarita and the wagyu pastami hash for sure!
