Fish Place

Meh. Really mediocre food. I've eaten there twice, and neither time was memorable. One time, they offered chips and salsa with the meal, but not the other time. But what I do remember is that I waited forever for service, and then waited forever to check out. It's one of the few restaurants in Santa Fe, but I'm in no hurry to return.

Lilly just opened her additional, and really nice new location, with the same great food, service and prices that I and my friends had grown used to at the other location on HW 6 in Dickinson. She's snagged a long time staff of bright, loyal, friendly and really competent young folks ( Gabe, Gabby, Leo, Iridium.... yeah, I've gotten to know them a bit ) to make it a great dining experience. Read my long winded 5 Star review of the older place on HW 6 for more info, but my friends and I love the shiny new joint, the extensive menu of great dishes - and who would guess tonight I ate the best, juicy, squirt-on-yer-tie, double meat hand made patty, loaded cheeseburger I've had in a restaurant in over 40 years - and the onion rings may be about the best in Texas! With all kinds of great seafood, they need a liquor license to serve tequila in their extensive flavors of Marg's (we can wait). However, the beer and Cokes are always ice cold and fast to the table - just like their bargain priced delicious food. I sure like this place, and it's right on the way back from my fishing trips! This is my second review of this eatery. My first review was based on breakfast; breakfast at a seafood restaurant. This time around I'm basing it on the actual seafood that was ordered by me and a friend. As a result the rating has been increased to a full 5 star. The service and the ambiance remain the same. The seafood is well prepared and the servings are more than generous. The fried okra and onion rings are well battered and crisp with good seasoning. The Po-Boy is a straight up one foot long so you either split it with someone or take half home. Crisp shrimp, crispy fried catfish..oh my! Hurry on over and then take home a pastry.

Only eaten in once. Service was a little slow and the fried platter I had (fish and shrimp) was meh, OK. My husband had a seafood takeout meal and said he really liked the fish. What's really good from this place? The BURGER. Seriously solid cheeseburger with great fries. Onion rings are spot on as well. I haven't tried more of the seafood but I get a burger almost every other week (sometimes every week). Maybe they should change the name to "The Burger Place"?Over all, pretty decent food in The Fe. We'll keep going back for sure.

Love love love great creamy and red sauce served with the tacos. Corn tortillas with delicious reddish, cabbage and fixings. This meal was fantastic! In the past I ordered the crab cakes and I was disappointed due to the fact they had shrimp in them. I even told the employee when I picked up my order that I hate shrimp. He didn't say anything about the cakes having shrimp. They went to the chickens. Just an FYI.. But I liked these tacos a lot. Maybe a better description such as seafood cakes would be better.

Food was very bland no taste other than grease. I got the shrimp and fish with hush puppies and fries and I was not pleased

We always love the food here. They recently started serving breakfast and we were not disappointed. Santa Fe needed a country cooking restaurant and that's exactly what we got in the fish place.

We've eaten at the Fish Place in Santa Fe several times since it opened. The food has always been good, and it's reasonably priced. I especially enjoy the seafood fettuccini. Rich and delicious.

The food is always hot and fresh. Great portions. A big variety of food, don't let the name fool you. The owners and staff are really nice. I have been going to the Dickinson location since it opened. So glad they came to Santa Fe!

garbage,really tasteless food.AND I WAS HUNGRY,wound up just eating the french fries cause the fish wa tasteless and slimy
