I have always wanted to try Fargo's. Usually they are high in ranking of Texas Monthly Magazine. So on my last trip to Bryan, I decided to give them a try.Upon entering, the dining room was spacious and reminiscent of a stereotypical Texas BBQ Joint. There was a really nice mature lady who greeted me and talked it up with as she cut my BBQ. She talked about being a child and running through the mosquito fogger trucks. I did that too! Not good, but we're still here. She was the most enjoyable part of my visit! Now the food. To be fair, I picked up my BBQ at around 2:00p. I'm sure it would have been a lot better earlier on. Also to be fair, I have cooked and eaten a lot of really good "Q" and have trained with professional pit-masters, so my expectations are relatively high. That said, the ribs were some of the best that I've ever had! They were moist, smokey and perfectly spiced! The Brisket was well smoked but a little on the tight side. Still very good. Again moist, nice smoke ring and bark. The sides were a little different than I have had. I love Collard greens, but the mixed greens had a little too much vinegar for my taste. Otherwise good. The baked beans had a fair amount of cinnamon, also something that I was not accustomed to. I could have done without the cinnamon.Yes, I would eat there again, but would like to see what they can really do by catching the BBQ early. Still, I love Texas BBQ and enjoy all of the different styles the state has to offer. Fargo's Pit BBQ is an experienced deserving of it's Texas reputation.

Real Texas bbq. Food presented for you to choose from. Pretty expensive. You paid by the pound. The restaurant was runner down. Looked like it hadn't been updated since early 1990's. In fact we were only 2 of 3 people dining at lunch time. We thought when we arrived it was closed down. The person at the counter was a little grumpy. But the food was great just needs to be refreshed in there and maybe not gunsmoke playing on the TV

Food was amazing. Brisket was very moist, Pork ribs were tender and fell right off the bone. I am a sweet tea fanatic and it hit the spot!! Baked beans were very good as well. Only thing that was lacking was the Mac and cheese. Flavor profile was overly sweet and the Mac itself was mushy. Everyone was very friendly and ambiance was good overall.

So many bbq places here in college station Texas area. This place was very good. I got the ribs and 1/2 chicken. The bbq was perfect. I'll be trying the chopped brisket potato next.

Hard to find a BBQ spot that is open on Tuesdays, Fargo's Pot BBQ was luckily open. We ordered brisket, ribs, sausage, with potato salad and red beans. Everything was delicious! The owner was very helpful and friendly. We recommend this place.

First time in Bryan, Texas as an adult here to visit my dad's side of the Family and go to the Texas A&M game against Auburn. It was Friday around 5pm and we were starving and wanted the best BBQ. So went on Yelp, and they said this is the spot. I like that the spot is Black owned, so we were all excited to try it out. When we walked in, we were the only ones in there at 8 people. But soon after more people came so we definitely beat the rush. The ambiance is pretty chill, they have a tv but wasn't really loud at all. The Pit master Co-owner Alan welcomed us and was super nice. Asked where we were from, took our order, recommended dishes, and gave us our own mix of lemonade and sweet tea to start which was so good. We order the family special which feeds 5-7 people for $100 including 1lb pork ribs, 1lb sausage, 1lb brisket, a whole chicken chicken and two sides. We got the mac n cheese and greens. We thought we would probably want more food so we ordered extra mac and cheese, potato salad, 1lb brisket, and 1lb ribs. They also gave us an entire loaf of white bread. So my absolute faves were the greens, I wish I got more! They were sooo good! Then I liked the ribs, then the brisket. The sausage was a little too hard for me, I like more juicy. Mac was too mushy, potatoes ok, and chicken was dry to me, but my brother's piece looked juicy and he liked it so I think I just got a dry wing. All in all I would definitely come back and I highly recommend. We left with leftovers and had a great time eating this delicious food with the great staff. Thank you guys for welcoming us into your town, I will be back!

It is sad to see how far Fargo's has fallen over the years. I came here a few years ago and I had the best barbecue experience in BCS. Fast forward to 2023 and it is not even comparable to the chain barbecue restaurants. The service is still good, but the food was quite disappointing.

My family in Austin took me to The Salt Lick a few years back and told me how great the bbq was.THEY AIN'T GOT NUTHIN ON YA'LL!!!Just had my first at Fargo's and everything was great BUT THE PORK RIBS??? OH MY GOD, Hid the leftovers in an old bread wrapper at the back of the fridge and sprayed Febreeze around so no one would smell bbq after I almost exploded eatin too much Had ta fight off the dogs cuz they know good Q too! So, thanks folks! Best I've had in a while and I've eaten bbq all over for 77 yearsI'll be back! Long as my family doesn't catch me!! "Now Dad, you know you're not supposed to be eating bbq........" Words cannot describe the utter deliciousness of the food that went into my mouth on this day at this place! I don't eat much meat but when in Texas...We got there late, maybe an our before closing time so they were out of brisket but did have ribs and chicken. I didn't really know how much to order for the two of us so the man behind the counter suggested 1/2 pound of each which came out to 5 ribs and a 1/2 chicken. We also got macaroni & cheese and some potato salad. The restaurant was nothing fancy but it didn't need to be. The staff or maybe they were the owners, were so friendly and helpful, very nice people, especially since we came so close to closing time. they didn't rush us or have any kind of attitude because they were wanting to go home. The ribs and the chicken were otherworldly, utter heaven in food form and the sides were up there as well! We couldn't finish it all, the ribs were pretty big, I could only eat 1 & 1/2 and a few bites of chicken. My daughter managed 2 ribs and some chicken. We took the rest home and they even put our drinks in to go cups. I don't know much about meat and barbecue places but this particular restaurant should be famous. I'm not in Texas anymore but I'm still thinking about that meal and when my daughter goes back, i'll be 100% jealous!
