Great local establishment, this brewery did a major up fit to a older building. Great beer, lots of fun, and often has unique and different food trucks.

My boyfriend and I love coming here. Always great music. Every bar tender is welcoming, they make you feel right at home every single time. Beer is always good, just tried our first food truck last night and it was delicious! Rburger and Rkitchen burgers and fries spot on.

I feel that honesty compels me to admit that I am NOT a big beer drinker. I love going to distilleries as I am much more of a spirits drinker. With my disclaimer out of the way let me implore you that if you are in/near/within reasonable driving distance...you MUST go to Fainting Goat!!First step right off the bat we were greeted by the friendliess staff I have yet met in any establishment like this. I've been to dozens of wineries where you can see the staff cringe when the patrons come in, tens of distilleries where the employees are bored silly and a few breweries (again, not my fav beverage) where they eagerly discussed their product but weren't too friendly. Not so here at Fainting Goat! Next, we were guided thru what they had that day as far as offerings and how we could best benefit from tasting them. We decided to get a flight of 6 tastings between myself & my friend. Hey, I had to be the responsible driver right? As we were chatting with the incredible female, another wonderful employee came out to ask how we were enjoying ourselves. (I need to explain gender designations....I am AWFUL with remembering names & after drinking half of the flight their names went completely out of my head). He was very knowledgeable and helpful. My friend's boyfriend works at a brewery in PA and she was able to chat more to this SUPER friendly employee more about the process and which beers taste better & where you can get them & percentages and blah blah....I did start to wonder off in my head to be honest. While we were sipping the flight he asked us if we had tried their version of german beer. Since we didn't have it, he poured us some for us to taste. This is the level of friendliness I'm talking about here. The place itself is in the downtown Benson area, not too hard to find. Your GPS will take you around the building for some reason, don't be nervous because the signage is very easy to see & spot. There is a lot of parking next to the building and a cute little patio out front. Inside it is a mix of industrial and down home friendly, with some truly funny signage and pictures. We asked about the name of the brewery and apparently it's NOT named after those infamous fainting goats but after the owner's nickname he acquired while in the service. They have some decent offerings here and the price can't be beat (we were charged $10 for the flight). This could very easily become one of my favorite places to visit. It's just a 30 min drive outside Raleigh & lets be honest, that's about the same amount of time it'd take you get to a restaurant in Cary after 4. This place will be infinitely more fun!

A nice setting right next to the train tracks in uptown Benson, lends some charm to an otherwise unremarkable tasting room. No beer made on site, but Friday evening crowd was pretty lively for the trivia night. We tried eight of the 10 beers they had on tap. The horny honey lager and Double IPA were tasty. Nothing to blow your mind, but it's very close to 95 south and a welcome break from road trip chain monotony.

The Fainting Goat is a wonderful addition to Benson! They have great beer, and serve wine as well for those of you that do not like beer. It's a wonderful place to grab a drink with friends. They do not serve food, however, they have food trucks every Friday and Saturday until 9:00. Karaoke, music bingo, and live bands are just some of the entertainment you'll see here. I'm so happy to have them in our town!
