My friend and I stopped before the rest of our group got to town for a couple beers. The bar tender was so nice and helpful. I ordered a flight to try a couple different beers. We played some games that were on the bar and chatted. The vibe of this place is so cool would have loved to spend more time there or to have gone back at some point during the weekend.

My friends and I went here for Wednesday night quizzo and it was really fun! The place is a nice size, lots of seating. I don't normally like beer but get fomo when at brewery's, so I tried the "I pick things up and put them down" (and got a small size) and I finished it, which I normally never do so that's a good sign. I thought the place was kind of warm, but maybe that's just me lol. the appetizers weren't that bad, we tried the hummus and the Buffalo chicken dip, but for the price I expected a little more. It's definitely just quick bar food. My friends enjoyed their Cuban sandwich though. Would definitely go back for quizzo!

Hey, Yelp Family! Now, let's talk about the decor and ambiance at Evil Genius. Walking in, I was struck by how cool the place was - it's definitely bigger than I expected, and there are so many different areas to explore. The vibes are really nice and relaxed, with lots of people hanging out and having a good time. One of my favorite parts was the outdoor section - they have a bunch of games like cornhole and giant Jenga, which are so much fun to play while enjoying a cold beer. And if you're lucky, there might even be a performance happening on the stage.Inside, there's a 90's style sitting area with an old-school TV playing classic games from the 90s. It's a really cool touch and adds to the overall fun and playful vibe of the place. So, I gotta tell you about this beer I tried at Evil Genius - it was seriously amazing. It's called "Purple Monkey Dishwasher," and it's a chocolate peanut butter porter. Yeah, you read that right. Chocolate. Peanut butter. Porter.First off, the aroma was incredible - I could smell the chocolate and peanut butter as soon as the bartender put it down in front of me. And when I took a sip... oh man. It was like drinking a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup in beer form. The chocolate and peanut butter flavors were so rich and creamy, and they blended together perfectly with the porter base.Honestly, I could have just ordered a few more of those and been happy for the rest of the night. Shoutout to the service at Evil Genius - the bartenders were super friendly and knowledgeable about all the beers on tap. They were happy to make recommendations and answer any questions we had.Overall, I had a great time at Evil Genius!

TLDR: Awesome atmosphere, great beer. Perfect place to spend a Saturday with friends. Vibe: 4/5. Located in the heart of Fishtown, Evil Genius has a sprawling complex complete with both indoor and outdoor seating. On the Saturday I visited, they had the entire street blocked off directly in front of the brewery for an impromptu concert and street hangout. I am unsure if this is a weekly occurrence, but it was very well organized and welcoming to everyone. They had several tables and beer tents set up as well as a mobile axe throwing booth (free!). The band playing was extremely talented and played a great selection of pop classic covers throughout the afternoon. My only wish is that Evil Genius rented a few port o pots for the outside festivities, as the brewery only has a handful of unisex stalls which caused a wait for the bathroom. Service: 5/5. The staff at Evil Genius were great from first to last pint. When we visited, you could purchase beer at both the inside bar and an outside tent setup in the street. Both locations were quick to get patrons their order and friendly in the process. Security manning the door was also friendly as you entered and exited the front door. Beer: 4/5. The beers at Evil Genius were both creative and tasty. I was able to sample the bacon beer and one of their IPAs and both were tasty. Pricing was reasonable as well, with pints hovering around the $8 range. If I wasn't so caught up in the outdoor festivities, I would have loved to sample a flight of beer to really get a better idea of their beer offerings, but maybe next time!

This was a quick stop in Philly for the family. It caught my eye because I read in some reviews/blogs it was known for 90s music and ambience. There was definitely some of that with the music and de or in the front of the place, but I was hoping for a more grungy, pop punk vibe. Our party of four shared two flights - my husband and I got numbers 2,4,6,8 and 10. The lemon chamomile Hefe and the Lucky Charms IPA were definitely the biggest letdowns - not overly flavorful. My favorite was the chocolate hazelnut imperial stout - smooth and very tasty. The overall ambience of the space was really cool - I liked the tall ceilings, exposed brick and skylights. I've been to evil genius several times - for drag shows or being dragged by friends to go. I personally would skip, but there are a lot of redeeming qualities. The ambience is not my taste, with the bathrooms painted with cartoon characters, huge leather couches and booths, old board games and trivia games strewn around tables, but it's definitely a vibe. It's normally pretty busy and you have to order food from an app which is a less personalized experience. The food is your standard bar food fare. The beers are all a bitGimmicky, but I do love the peanut butter one solely for my love of PB. I'd definitely return but only if someone else suggested it - I just have other breweries I personally prefer like Love City and St. Oner's!

Every time I go to Evil Genius I am impressed! It's such a huge space and there's always so much going on. I was there for another drag event, but this time decided to try a flight of beer. I enjoyed every single one! They had mac & cheese on the menu with a Cheeto dusting... How could I not? I love that they were expanded to cocktails and slushes too! The staff is awesome and and make things look effortless even when it's a sold out show or the bar is packed! Can't wait for warmer weather to spend time in their outside space!

Was here over the summer, not impressed at all with the draft list. Nearly everything had fruit, glitter or both in it. I figured being a brewery with like 12 taps they might offer a regular IPA. I got some unmemorable hazy IPA and then in my attempt to find a beer that just tasted like beer i had to go with a session IPA which wound up being over $8?!? For a no frills 4.5% ABV beer? At the brewery that makes it? $9 for a Truly. Maybe these are standard Fishtown prices but no thank you. This brand has always seemed over hyped to me and this brewery just confirms it. The staff was friendly.
