Etro Nightclub

I loved this place so much - even though it gets super crowded sometimes. The music is so fun and the crowd is always friendly and inviting. Every time we went - we loved it!

Used to enjoy Etro as a fun place to dance and listen to 80s. However, on more than one occasion, the bartenders have added additional charges to my tab. Will not be back. Note to management - don't steal from your customers I already overpay for the drinks.

Love this place! So fun and the music is awesome. Everyone there is just looking to hear good music, dance a have fun. Great vibe! No food but decent drinks and great bar service.

Really raunchy and gross type of place.. barely anyone's in there and the manager is walking around trying to talk to ever woman and show his self as a big man .. it was so uncomfortable... so unfriendly.. I could tell you 50 other bars to go to.. unless you're a creepy gentleman looking to pray on people.. I wouldn't bother even showing up. They over charge and they will snatch your bottle away half full if you even move 2 feet from your " section" which is tiny. I have a torn meniscus so I was trying to get my friends and this man snatched the bottle out of my hand without saying anything I could understand.. I looked at him confused and said " WHAT" and he had security push me out. My whole party left and got a tab WELL over $350. It was a terrible experience & I hope that the owner can find new management that isn't a predator.. the security kicked me out but literally told me they had no idea why... the boss just said to. We will never ever come here even if this was the last place on earth... truly.. save yourself.. if you want to try and it.. pay cash and really hold onto your drink. Plenty of better places all around :) not sure if it was better before but I came December 2023 and it was TERRIBLE because of the manager.. Indian or Hispanic guy with long stringy hair and a bald spot just lurking around trying to talk to any woman.. I wish I could give -12 stars. I will be calling the BBB. That's how bad it was... so dark you couldn't see anything... so sketchy.

Etro used to be THE club for 80s dance! Omg not anymore. Gone se the 60s videos, replaced by inane generic videos of people dancing and the music is half DJ distortion of real songs. My heart aches for what they club used to be. Please bring back the old Etro!!! We won't be back till this one!!

I have to agree with the other reviewers who question the DJ's song selection. I'm not saying that every song should be a bubbly pop song, but there are low energy songs and songs that fill up the dance floor and if you're going to play the low energy songs, which is fine because a lot of them are classics, you do it while it's early in the evening and build up the energy to get people on the dance floor and then you keep them there by keeping the energy up. We're talking 80's music here so it's not as if the crowd is expecting you to be cutting edge or do weird things. We all either grew up with this stuff or used to go to #'s so we know what we like. Most of the time, the original new wave or synth-pop song had plenty of energy on its own so you don't need to play a weird remix of it. If you do play a remix, you pick the 12 inch version or something that adds a little more punch to the original. You sure as hell don't find the lowest energy version of it like this DJ was doing. For example, if you're going to play Depeche Mode's World in My Eyes at 11:30 PM, you play the original, not the Oil Tank Mix which is dull. Also, the sound system here is not good at all. Maybe it's where I was standing but it needs some serious adjustment or perhaps a better source. It was sounding like those old low quality Napster rips. I'll still come back though...

Not sure what happened...This place used to be fun! The last few times we tried to come here in 2024 the music was terrible.Instead of the mix of different 80's dance music genres it once was- now it's all hard core, dark punk industrial 80's (mostly from unknown and random B list 1 hit wonder artists).Each time we go get a drink and hope the music gets better but it doesn't so we leave. Apparently everyone else does too.If you start a bar tab here remember what you order because it's very common for extra items to end up on your tab.

It kills me to have to write this but something must be done! what did you do to Etro??? this used to be such a fun club with awesome music. now it's that boring overplayed bubblegum crap that you can hear in any other city.This is Houston!! we have a totally different standard for what is considered 80s club music you used to play it. what happened?? after going there this past Friday and seeing how absolutely horrible it was I will no longer be going back. time is better spent at #'s and Barbarella.seriously Etro. get your act together. it used to be amazing. this is such a sad story.

Extremely disappointed with this bar. What really ruined it was the bartender who decided to be very rude to me. I will preface, I tip large bill cash when I leave an establishment. I tip to reward good service, I do not tip TO RECEIVE GOOD SERVICE. The bartender decided to make it clear to me as I purchased my last drink ever at this establishment that she "does not get a pay check" and "don't I know that?" She says this as I reach for her $20 tip. In hindsight, I should have withheld it but I gave it anyways because I do understand they are underpaid. Unfortunately I will never return to this bar again and I will tell everyone I know to not bother going there. Additionally, playing videos of planes crashing with the pilots dying is extremely distasteful. The games upstairs are all busted so don't bother. Spend your money and time somewhere else. Btw the bartender was handing me a bottles of water for my wife and whiskey cokes for me. Not that complicated. Didn't deserve 20%.

Drinks were overall pretty good. From other reviews, I was expecting it to be pretty quiet. There was a good number of people and fun to people watch. Although I don't really listen to that genre of music, I still remembered it enough to enjoy it.
