Espresso

20/10 experience! My wife and I started coming here when we had our first baby a few months ago. It was our little getaway spot just a short walk from our house where we could go and relax and have a meal. On beautiful days, we would sit on the outdoor patio, and when it got too hot, we got to enjoy the inside dining room, filled with aroma of coffee and delicious food. Tony, the owner, and his staff (in my mind), have quickly become a staple in our community. All the servers and staff go above and beyond to make your breakfast/lunch experience truly top notch. Eggs, sandwiches, burritos, daily specials, and many more...Tony knows how to whip up an unbelievably delicious meal. My go to is the chicken Cesar wrap (averaging 1 a week!) ..which has perfectly grilled chicken and pressed on a grille to ensure maximum crisp and deliciousness. I have tried chicken Cesar wraps all over town, and this one is by far the best. My wife's go-to is the chicken salad sandwich, which is flavored with sliced apples, dill, on perfectly toasted bread. When dining in, Tony starts you off with a pastry appetizer plate with an assortment of all their fresh pastries (honestly, what an amazing idea...like bread at an Italian restaurant..truly my favorite part).Overall, great food, great atmosphere, and an unbelievably kind and accommodating staff. Hope to get the chance to sit down with Tony some day and hear his story. My one request for all you reading this review and running straight to espresso...it is a small little neighborhood spot, so be patient when you go there.. enjoy your company, good conversation, and delicious espresso

I really like this place a lot. It's small (which has obvious downsides -- no guarantee of getting a table!) but the staff is nice. The music isn't too loud. The food is DELICIOUS! I'm a big fan of the French toast but I haven't found anything bad in the menu. They also do a great job on the cafe drinks. Easily the best chai latte I've ever had. Parking is on the street but that's never been an issue in my experience. I honestly just wish they could have made the dining area bigger!

Landed at PHL around 9am, and had a meeting a mile from this coffee shop shortly after. In an effort to avoid Starbucks or Panera, luckily stumbled into this gem.The coffee was very good. That's cool... La Colombe.The food was AMAZING, and the service even better. I ordered a coffee, a simple breakfast sandwich, and once I set down and opened my laptop I was delivered a little plate full of goodies. This is what will set them apart... something that shows a little extra thought. It gave that slight European feel, or as one might say in my favorite city... the lagniappe. Keeping it basic - I just had a sausage, egg and cheese on a really delicious croissant. It was very good, and with the side of fruit was a nice meal. The sausage was very tasty.Would love to try more menu options at this place.

Loved this place! The espresso was great, lattes were great, and the food was perfect but above all else, the people were so kind and welcoming. The cafe is a family owned business with a sweet lady and her son running the shop. I will be back.

Had a very nice breakfast here with my wife several weeks ago over spring break. It's a relatively new place in the neighborhood that we could walk to. The food was really good, it was quiet, the server was very prompt, and the prices were very good. The only negative, was that it doesn't seem like they had the kitchen exhaust fan running. The inside of the place smelled fairly strongly of the food they were cooking and so did my clothing when I left. So I had to go home and get changed so I didn't smell like a flat top grill. So, for building that has such a massive exhaust fan hanging out the side of it, maybe they should turn it on. Otherwise. Everything was great.

We stopped here for brunch the other day, and this place is a gem! We ordered two omelettes ( you can build your own or pick one of theirs) and I got the French toast and some sides. Everything was delicious. They were super accommodating to us, the service was wonderful and everyone was genuinely so nice and kind. Since they are more of a local spot, there aren't too many tables to sit on inside but they do have some outdoor tables as well. Will definitely be back !

Friendly neighborhood spot. High end food and excellent coffee. Pre order and pick up the best lunch as well. A favorite place for me.

Tried Espresso for the first time today. I ordered the panini with prosciutto and my wife ordered the chicken salad hoagie. Amazing!!! I don't know where they get their bread from, but I just got back from Paris last weekend and this bread was as good as any bread there. The food is super fresh with great ingredients. They seem to put a lot of passion into what they're doing and it shows 100%. This is absolutely my new weekly spot. I don't mind that they didn't preserve the old, ugly, decaying building that was a compete eyesore. Sorry for those of you that got candy their as a child, but as much as I love history, sometimes you need to move forward. Also, each restaurant presents their food differently. Im not concerned with the look of a platter, I'm concerned about the quality and taste and Espresso is not lacking quality.

Literally the BEST french toast I've had in my entire life. I am not exaggerating. The omelette & home fries were amazing as well. Highly recommend. All the food tasted fresh & high quality!!

I came here and got a chai tea latte and not only was it one of the best ones I've had in a while but this is the cutest mom and pop shop I've ever seen. The owners and staff are so kind and I can't wait to come back again. They create such a wonderful expirence.
