Loved the art deco vibe! They have been super popular lately and they do not take reservations so we went in as soon as they opened at 4:30 PM on a Friday evening to snag a place at their beautiful bar. The first impression I got is that the entire staff is very friendly. The manager is very personable and the bartenders are very polite and soft spoken. I absolutely loved my drinks! As usual I went for the prettier drinks - Violet shading (creme de violette) and Bramble (blueberry basil liqueur) and my husband went for the exotic one: the Hawksnest Sour (coconut water rum, lemongrass). The second drink my husband got, Old Fashioned No. Two, was a cocktail on draft but boy was is strong. I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves Scotch.Their food menu mostly has small plates with a couple large items and they usually have a special as well. I think their special is slightly pricey for $40+ but I am seeing this everywhere lately. We did not try any food this time as we were heading elsewhere for dinner but I would definitely come back for pre-dinner drinks.

Stopped in to Enswell for happy hour on a beautiful day. The interior looks excellent but since it was so nice, I sat outside and enjoyed some wine and oysters along with their "Angry Crab Dip". All very good especially at the happy hour prices. Shout out to Aria, my server, who made the stop a little extra special. Cheers!

Impromptu late afternoon lunch. It was wonderful. The tuna tartare and pickled cucumbers were quite filling. It was a nice calm vibe.

Both the mocktails and cocktails were refreshing and delicious. The inside of the restaurant is also beautiful. My group only stopped by for a drink but the service was still top notch.

Walking into Enswell feels like walking into the cafe of a palace that was designed by Riccardo Tisci. They nailed that boujee, yet not pretentious feel on the interior. It's warm and cozy, but I still feel classy af in here.Sometimes you walk into a place like this and it just feels inauthentic, kind of like it's a movie set. Just no character. Not here.Anyways, my nickname in high school was "plain croissant" because I love a plain croissant more than I love a drunk cigarette.Much to my chagrin, they were out of plain croissants so I had to call an audible- BLUE 42, GREEN 80, OMAHA! OMAHA!- and went with the Za'atar Croissant as the lady began selling me on it like a prime Gordon Gekko.A Za'atar croissant is literally just a plain croissant with Za'atar spices in it, and I love both of those things so this crossover inevitably blew me away. When God closes the plain croissant door, he opens the Za'atar croissant window. GOD DID!We sat at the bar as we just wanted pastries and lattes, but they do have a full lunch/drink menu as well. The attention to detail and artistry on these lattes was inspirational, as they had little flakes of lavender on top of my lavender latte. Music selection was great as well as I even shazam'd a few songs, but I gotta gatekeep those I'm sorry. When I see my high school friends, I will need to inform them my new nickname is "Za'atar croissant."THANK YOU ENSWELL I'LL BE BACK ASAP ROCKY!IG @jnov_Tiktok @jnov__

An absolutely beautiful restaurant. It's sophisticated but not stuck up, intimate yet open. I'm a big fan of the tapas/family style food system. The eggplant was my favorite part of the meal. I like that the food here is a little bit out so you never really know what to expect.

Finally took an afternoon coffee break at Enswell after wanting to try since they opened, and am so glad I did! A lot to love here:1) One of the most beautiful cafe settings I've been to. It's like being transported to somewhere in Europe - muted rococo but somehow modern? I love every design choice from the lighting fixtures to the bar stools to the color palette and everything in between.2) Every staff member I encountered was kind, helpful, and quick with a recommendation or explanation.3) Coffee menu is all Rival Bros (a favorite of mine) and you can even get their canned options if you're on the go. My chai was lovely!I do wish there was bit more depth to the daytime food menu. I love an all day cafe but would love to see more robust food options beyond pastry, even if just grab and go, for the daytime/lunch hours. The dinner menu looks good, with some smaller and larger plate options available, as well as a full bar. I look forward to returning and am so grateful to have this gem of a shop on Spruce!

I was meeting up with a new friend for dinner and he'd recommended we try Enswell, which he had heard good things about. We visited the eatery on Tuesday evening.Atmosphere 7/10The place has a nice atmosphere, quaint and cozy, albeit a little small and rather noisy. My friend and I had a little difficulty hearing one another over the noise, thus the score of 7. The establishment is a cafe during the day and honestly, aside from the dining tables, it seems more like a cafe than a restaurant.Food 10/10Enswell serves tapas-style food, with small portions meant for sharing. I'm an adventurous eater, and so I loved the offerings on the menu, which were not your ordinary fare. There were plenty of tantalizing and interesting dishes to choose from, such as the Jamon Serrano, the Skate Milanese, and much more.In all, we sampled four of the dishes on the menu: Bamboozle Cheese, Grilled Mission Figs, Crispy Eggplant, and Potato Touraine. With the exception of one of the two cheeses, (which did not have much flavor), the rest of our meal was a one wonderful flavor explosion after another, and it left me imagining how delicious the rest of the items on the menu must be. Excellent fare!Service 9/10Unless it is either exceptional or terrible, it's sometimes difficult to rate the service at a restaurant. Our waitress was friendly and efficient enough, though not truly exceptional until the end when she asked for our thoughts on the meal. You could tell that she loved the food that she was serving and that is always a good sign. In the end, we had some nice conversation to finish our visit and she helped make me want to visit once again. All in all, I would highly recommend Enswell for its unique and flavorful menu. I'm looking forward to trying out some more of their dishes next time.
