Suburban diner on Main Street at the western fringe of Norristown, PA, with two dining rooms, but no counter service. Bright and airy with broad windows facing east and south. Broad menu for three a day. I was there around 10:30 a.m. and lusting for a wholesome breakfast. Those choices they had up the wazoo, and it was an easy pick of Southwest Omelet (pepper, onion, jalapeño, pepper jack, sausage) with home fries, wheat toast and splash of Tabasco. It was a big three-egger, that held its moisture well, and was very tasty. Enjoyed every bite. Coffee was strong and refilled three times without summoning the waiter. He was totally on the ball, and I hardly noticed his lip and ear jewelry. He certainly wore it well. Reasonable prices. Good sized parking lot in this older commercial strip. The edge of my table was a little sticky.

I have to give this place a rare five stars.Food is always good. Big portions. Waitresses and the young man at the desk are friendly. The booth has napkins ketchup syrup, salt, pepper, sugar, jelly, and a giant bottle of Tobasco pepper sauce. Now that's class! Fairly quiet TVsOn both sides of the restaurant. Pancakes are huge! They even put your fork knife and spoon in a little white paper empire bag. (They do not oversalt the potatoes!)Talking to you First Watch! Great job Empire.

Clean and bright, decent breakfast spot if you are into dinner, foods were a bit mediocre and service was a bit slow.I would give them a 3.5 if there was half star available.

Really great first visit! Portions are huge, staff is friendly and fast and the food was delicious!!! I got the empire platter which is enormous and a side of country gravy and was full all day. Definitely will be back!

Stopped by this evening. I'm not a regular but come here every couple months when I crave diner food. There are several big signs in the window: "Servers Urgently Needed" so I was a bit apprehensive that I was going to be making a time commitment by sitting down, when I really wanted to get in and out quickly (as I usually do when dining alone.) Service was friendly and reasonably attentive, which hasn't always been the case here. Food was good, though you can't easily mess up a turkey club.

The food is fine -- actually, it seems like the cooks are very good, and my Mediterranean omelet was delicious -- but the service is somewhere between thinly-restrained hostility and much better service by someone who acted like a normal, engaged server. The person who waited on me asked me how I was doing with an obviously uninterested demeanor. The other server actually asked her diner if they wanted onions and peppers in their home fries. Mine didn't even mention that those were options. When she brought my food and I asked for Tabasco she managed to put it on my table with her back turned. The other server asked how everything is, so I told her. I asked her to tell the cooks the omelette is very good, and she seemed concerned. Enough that I might come back. I know it's hard to find servers, but getting a server who clearly wants nothing to do with you kind of spoils the dining experience. DoorDash next time? Maybe so. The ambiance is perfectly fine. Spacious and well-lit. In fairness, I've had worse service. Forty years ago last February.

Altho u wdn't know it b/c its your usual diner fare...if u like Mideastern dishes, Mohammed, the new owner has recently added to his menu freshly made tabouleh (chopped parsley, couscous & lemon juice). Also theirvhome made hummus also v. gd. And...his baba ganoush (mashed eggplant & spices) delicious. Have eaten baba other places & has an awful tasting bitterness, from the eggplant?? but Mohammed's has no bitterness. Delicious. And Mohammed just brt me some felafel he made special.

I requested an empty booth , although not yet cleaned, from a waitress. She gave me a prolonged dead stare before stating the obvious about the dirty table. she took her time to clean the table, finally letting me know that I could sit there. once seated, we got no table service after getting coffee! I always had to ask for service! Both waitresses dropped the ball on service. Later this same waitress accidentally knocked over another customers cane. Do you think she would apologize? No apology and she proceeded to step right over the cane.This made my dining experience less than acceptable and I will think twice before returning to a place where I felt the waitresses were "bothered" to provide good service.
