El Tiempo Cantina - Stafford

This is my first time at this location. I've been to their other locations so I know the food would be delicious. We came her for a team lunch celebration. They were able to sit about 30 of us in a private area. Our waiter, Luis, was awesome. He had his staff help him and they were on top of things: giving us drink refills, accommodating stragglers, and joking with us throughout our time there.We will definitely be back.

A bit on the pricey side for the small portions they serve. Customer service was awesome. The ambiance is very dark and gloomy, not my choice of mood. Took my mother in law here for an early dinner. She enjoyed her food minus the "warm" salsa. I had to explain to her this isnt Pace picante sauce. Lol

First time at this location, and really no complaints! Came on a Friday night around 7:30 - no wait! Service was quick, and they were all very nice. Had the chicken soup, and 1. It is sooo cheap , $4.99 for a cup and 2. Not salty at all! Even comes with a side of tortillas. Everyone else in the party ordered a variety of things such as enchiladas, fajitas, and mixed plates. The only thing was the fajitas did not come out sizzling, which is very disappointing. Otherwise, everything was good. I love that it is very bright inside as well, compared to the other locations I've been where it's very dark and cramped.

Oldie, but goodie. Have not been here in a while and I am always pleased. I do see a lot of mixed reviews, but I typically get the same thing here. It never fails me. Food is flavorful and the margaritas are GOOD!!! We also had chicken quesadillas (not pictured) they were good, but I definitely prefer the beef.

I've been wanting to try this place for a long time. We go to the movies on discount Tuesdays and we finally decided to try it.The ambiance was cool. Typical Tex Mex restaurant with dim lighting.The service was decent. He was polite and got everything correct which is a huge plus for me because I alter my orders often. I asked to remove the tomatoes and to have them replaced with Serrano peppers instead so I appreciate the correct order. The food it self wasn't too bad. I would come back, but I'm not in a rush to go back. I do like that their flour tortillas are handmade/homemade style. That elevated the flavor factor. I also love the fact that they have Serrano peppers for an option. I do wish it was slightly more flavorful. There's just a slight blandness to the food. And unless I missed it on the menu, based on previous photos I have seen on Yelp, I thought that the rice would be cilantro based rice instead of the traditional tomato based Spanish rice. Again, not sure if I missed that option to change it on the menu or maybe they do not offer it anymore, but previous pictures shows a different style of rice which I would have preferred. Also, the tres leches was very moist and plenty of "leche" but I would have preferred for the pineapple to not be included in the cake. Maybe on top with the strawberries, but inside of the cake, I would have preferred for it to be different. So that's for anyone who doesn't really enjoy pineapple or certain fruits with certain desserts. Also I do wish the cake itself was just a tad bit sweeter. If I had to say it, it's more of a 3.5 but if I'm going to round up or down, I rounded down due to the few things I listed in this review. The flavor factor was not worth the price to me. The portions I can understand, but it is on the slightly pricey side. Not bad. I'll give it another shot for sure. But not sure I will make this my go to Tex Mex spot.

Went here on a Wednesday for an early dinner for a family members birthday and El Tiempo was pretty busy! It is a bit dim in there but the decor is really cute with all the papel picado :). Anyways, we were seated right away and ordered a full order of the shrimp and bacon quesadillas as appetizer. They cut it into 8 pieces and of course I got the piece that only had cheese in it lol. I tried a bite of my husbands and got shrimp/bacon in it and I liked it. You can definitely taste the flavor of bacon in it. They also give both red and green salsa with tortilla chips. I'm a sucker for some good red salsa and this was good! Made me look forward to the fajitas lol. We ordered 2 lbs of beef fajita and 1 lb of chicken (normally, I would never order chicken fajitas - but the birthday boy wanted it). The orders come with beans/rice/tortillas/lettuce/pico/cheese/sour cream. We also got all three beans for everyone to try: refried, charro, and black beans. All 3 were very good, refried tasted the best though. Their charro beans had a unique taste to it that I haven't tasted at other restaurants before. The beef fajitas were really, really good. Super tender, juicy and flavorful!The chicken fajitas were as I expected. they weren't bad or dry...but it's just chicken breast - nothing too exciting for me. If you let the waiter know you're celebrating a birthday, they will bring this huge decorated sombrero to put on the birthday guest. Our waiter came with tres leches and flan, 5-6 other staff, sang happy birthday to my brother AND... HE FED MY BROTHER TRES LECHES and wished him happy birthday. In all the restaurants we've been too, never seen the waiter feed any of my family lol. It was really funny and sweet. We enjoyed and had a good time. My only complaint is the prices! If you love Mexican food like me- I can see how this would add up! But for special occasions and dates, I thiit's worth it.

I don't get while this particular location is always empty. All the other locations in town is packed! This is the closest to me now that I've moved to Sugar Land and I mainly take advantage of their Wednesday night special. I get all beef fajitas and the butter sauce is amazing.Make sure to request cilantro rice.This location. Has plenty of parking and the waiters are all super nice!

Great food and ambience. Staff was friendly and checked on us often. I would definitely recommend for time with friends or family.

I experienced the most egregiously horrible service from this lackluster restaurant and I would advise anyone who wishes to dine in a restaurant that offers friendly service, professionalism and great food to spend your money elsewhere. You will NOT get any of those things at this disgusting restaurant. I called in a to go order of a dozen tortillas and tres leches twenty minutes before I arrived at the restaurant. When I got there, I was "greeted" by Jennifer who had a very dry and nasty attitude. I was told I would have to wait another 10 minutes which was unacceptable since I had already been waiting and I called it in prior. The surly Jennifer then goes to the back to retrieve the tortillas. I watched her use her bare hands-after touching the phone and the touchscreen-to handle the food. I was disgusted. I tell another waitress what is going on and that I need a new order. After Jennifer is confronted and I demand not to pay for the horrible service, she says verbatim "if you didn't have the money just say that!" Sweetheart, I can assure you that I have more money than your entire bloodline. You're the one that works at a crappy job that you clearly hate based on your terrible argumentative attitude. I refuse to argue with a broad that wouldn't be able to retrieve 1K out her bank account. All I wanted to do was pay for my food, receive my order and go. But El Tiempo decided to give me outlandish piss poor service. The manager Carlos, was of no assistance. I informed him of his employee's bad behavior and he told us "it is nothing I can do." What type of crappy manager are you? What process do they use to train staff and employees? It surely isn't an effective one. He didn't help to diffuse the situation at all. I have witnessed German shepherds handle better conflict than him. They gave us the tortillas complimentary which was expected after waiting for 30 minutes and having to deal with an employee whose attitude was as big as her back. We never received our tres leches. I hope this location closes down. It's not good and not really popular in the first place. It doesn't really fit in with the vibe in the area. This company went bankrupt back in the 90's and I can see why. They really haven't been the same since. Mama Ninfa would never tolerate what you all have made of the beautiful experience that you USE to have.

Our waiter Luis was amazingThe food was 10/10 prime fajitas cooked exactly the way we asked. We are so lucky to have the best Mexican food in town nearby. Take advantage people you can't get this anywhere else.
