Service was good, margarita was so so and food was nothing special, except tortillas and enchiladas were pretty good. But, they clearly use heavy MSG cause my family got so sick as a result...poor things. Never going back as a result I'm afraid.

After reading all the bad reviews, we had to go try out El Tiempo for ourselves. We went in with low expectations and El Tiempo did not disappoint!! We (me & my boyfriend) went around 1:30pm on a Friday and sat at the bar. Service was decent. Attentive-ish but not energetic. We ordered the chicken fajita tacos from the lunch menu. The rice was meh. Beans were good so just mix them together and you'll be good. The chicken tasted and had the texture of BOILED chicken. There wasn't a grill mark on any of it and it was fairly bland for being "fajita" chicken. You'll get a better fajita taco at Taco Bueno. We each had a top shelf Don Julio Marg. It was decent, but not a $17 marg. We ordered a cup of queso. Again, I can get the same queso so Taco Bueno for way less than $11. Our lunch bill for a cup of queso ($11); 2 taco plates ($15 each) and 2 Margs ($17 each) totaled to $94 pre-tip. Yep...the math doesn't add...our fault for not asking for an itemized receipt and simply just paying then mathing later. But, the quality just isn't there. We won't be back but at least we weren't disappointed

Visited yesterday and had the Pollo Tropical Frito and it was very good. For those of you who like a different type of Mexican dish, this is a great offshoot from your everyday dish. The chicken is served over a bed of rice with vegetables such as red yellow and green bell peppers, onions in a sweet sour Mexican sauce. It comes with a side of refried beans. Extremely tasty and a detour from your normal fare. My wife and her sister had steak fajitas and there were plenty to go around. My brother in law had Relleno a la Ninfa and it also was great. Nice poblano with a mixture of things including raisins. Nice place and I strongly recommend it.

I love the food at the El Tiempo in Clearlake, that's why I chose El Tiempo in the Woodlands to take go to dinner when my husband's coworkers came to town. I was disappointed with this El Tiempo location. The place was not busy or crowded. yet the food was mediocre, and the drinks were slow. It did give the full Tex-Mex experience. The inside of the restaurant is very cute and it has an excellent location.

Very good service, and a nice ambiance.Parking was free at a nearby garage.The food was very good, but also pricey compared to other Mexican restaurants. The margarita was excellent and the beer cold.

Not a great experience.Checked in at 6:09 for party of 2 and they said would be an hour wait. Fine, no big deal.Came in at 7:15 after noticing people and big parties getting seated after I put my name in at 6:09. I walked in and asked how much longer with the "oh yeah we can take you" response. As if they forgot. I walked in looking around with about 6 tables available. Sat down for 10 minutes, still no drinks, chips or anyone to take order. My husband was about to get it himself at this point. We finally get a manager who then takes our order and comes back with drinks, chips/salsa and one small plate. My husband had to go get utensils/napkins from other tables. The people at the next table said they've had horrible service as well. They left and said "good luck". Ugh...We finally get food and they forget part of the order. To conclude this uneventful night, we waited 20 min for the check to no surprise we get overcharged. We finally got a manager who comped our meal even though that's not what we were expecting. We just wanted it made right. Was thankful, but on concert nights, they need to train better for the amount of business.
