El Taquito Mexican Restaurant

We went to dinner at El Tawuito in Coldspring this evening and to say we were disappointed would be a compliment. It was horrible. The service was slow, the food was cold, and the teenage staff was unsupervised. We overheard the bar tender offering a clearly underaged patron drinks & shots. We know she was underaged because that was her response when she turned down the offer. Can't recommend such a poorly run establishment

I have lived here for many years and have eaten at El Taquito hundreds of times. The last year has been the worst service I have ever experienced, anywhere. I have gotten up and left the restaurant without ordering the past two times I have visited. There is no excuse for waiting 20 minutes just to place a drink order or get chips and salsa to the table!! The margaritas and food are both fine but you have to have service in order to get them. I won't be back until something changes.

Typical Mexican food I like the beef fajitas or tacos they also have gumball machines

One star because I ordered four entrées takeout. The price was $45 and I gave a $10 tip and I asked if everything was in the bag and was assured everything was there. This is in the country so once I finally get home and open my bag I discover three of the meals are complete but the meals/ fajitas had no rice or beans and had no tortillas. Food was average.

We were pleasantly surprised by this place . We were passing through and decided the give it a shot .The chips and salsa were very good. I had sweet tea with my lunch and it was great too. The server was super friendly as well. The place was clean and good sized for such a small town.

Stopped for lunch and the place was clean, the service was quick, chips were good severed with a spicy and non spicy salsa. For that I have it a 3 star.I ordered the chicken chimichanga with rice and beans. It came with a velveeta like cheese sauce all over it which was a yuk for me. I ended up removing the chicken from the inside of the chimichanga and ate it with the rice that wasn't covered by it. Left the beans, the chimichanga shell and all that gooey cheese on the plate.Although I didn't enjoy my meal - I ate it and it was okay. It wasn't horrible and there may have been something better - I just will never know - so in a pinch it was ok.

I am not sure why so many bad reviews. Just relocated to Coldspring six months ago. I have been here 5-6 times always a great experience. Good solid food and service is great. Most of the times it's during the day. But still. With social media these days so many can have one experience and then so many have fantastic experience. After Covid you must have patience!

The food is fair at best. I gave the second star for the size of the portions but you really don't want to finish it all. The salsa that came at the beginning of the meal was the high point. The lemons that the brought for my tea were al so old and separated when I tried to squeeze. Someone at the table ordered fajitas and the tortillas that came out were like leather. Our server was great and the place is clean but this would not be on my list of places to go back unless everything else was closed.

This place was a good spot before covid and NOW they don't follow the guidelines .. We enter with mask sit down and order something to drink and then after us two parties come in with no mask and employees don't tell them anything at all so we bring it up to the waiters attention and it seems like if she didn't care because more people came in without masks so we decided not to dine in and left! We asked for manager on call and he said he didn't care and we will report them

All the meals that I've had at this restaurant have been delicious, and prices are very reasonable too! The service is great, and they always prepare the food fast! My go to favorite is the El Taquito Special!
