El Tapatio

The food and service is exceptional!!We ordered the Molcajete with steak and chicken. It was amazing! Golden Margarita using Herradura tequila was delicious and affordable. Definitely coming back!!!

Chips were cheap and not tasty, carne adobada was not good, overcooked and flavors were not good. I would not recommend

When you are headed north on the 6 highway into Golden look to your left up on the hill and you will see El Tapatio. Turn left at Heritage Road. When you go in you will be greeted by a very welcoming staff, authentic music and great art that makes the experience memorable. Let's not forget the food. Everyone had something different and everyone enjoyed their food: Chicken fajitas, Carnitas Burrito El Tapatio Special and many other dishes. Come and try them out; you will have a great time and eat really good Mexican food too!!

Felt like enchiladas for lunch so I decided to try this place out. The service was great. My service was very nice. The enchiladas tasted ok. The beans did not look appetizing. I enjoyed the music as it was not too loud.

Hey girlies for a cheap Mexican restaurant this was DA BOMBBBBBB (during and after). Food was super deece for like $12. Margaritas were fruity just how I like it ;) The ambiance had a very lovely catholic grandma look too. Love that for them. One of my girlfriends got some carnitas that were more like carniMAS (because moreeee yes please) (mas=more). My carne asada burrito had me and a small village fed for the winter. Service was where this establishment starts losing points. Our waiter or at least what I think was our waiter asked perhaps two dozen times: "are you okay?" Little guy even had the audacity to ask if we were doing okay while we were standing up to leave. THE NERVE! Lesson: hot girls do to go! Anywayyyyy XOXO Ben

I needed to grab lunch quickly and El Tapatio is near one of my offices. I ordered a chile relleno burrito to go and it was actually pretty tasty. When I arrived although the restaurant was not very busy I waited about a while (over 10 minutes) for someone to take my order. This was a bit frustrating as I need to get back for a meeting. So I would have to say the service was 2 star and the food was 4 star so an average of a 3 star. Perhaps if I go back and get better service I will upgrade the overall rating.

I had to come back and give this place another chance, especially since it's been a few years. I have to say, they have improved so much! They truly have some of the best fajitas I've ever had. The service was excellent and I had a great experience. Their margaritas are delicious and they were even willing to mix flavors (I had mango with strawberry). The food was hot, fresh, and well seasoned. I love how the chips come out warm. The views from the restaurant are gorgeous. The inside is clean and the music is not too loud. It is a great place for families or for a large crowd. I'm glad I gave it another chance!

First timer at the Golden location. The food was sub par. The entire wait staff congregated around us constantly asking if we were done. The whole time they were yelling loudly in Spanish, going in and out of the patio door. After they cleared the table they all disappeared. We had to hunt down our server for the bill then again to pickup the bill, then again to return our credit card. Oh yeah, I was sick to my stomach for 2 days afterward so good luck if you try this place.

If you're coming for the beautiful patio, don't bother! My family and I specifically came to this restaurant, drove 20 minutes out of our way after an hour drive to come sit outside and eat. It was 4:00pm on a Sunday, and we were told we couldn't eat outside because there weren't enough waiters. I even specifically told the host we came here for that reason. When we were sat, we were two tables from the outside door. It was extremely slow in the restaurant, and you could hear all of them laughing and joking in the back. Zero sense of urgency or customer service. I will never be back. It's no wonder why they had zero service on a beautiful Sunday afternoon!

My last meal here was very enjoyable. Attentive service, good food, with the patio as a bonus. Tonight: ugh. Something in the food (additive? Preservative?) made me feel gross; my energy tanked mid-meal. Service was meh, though there was plenty of staff around. And the highly chemical smell of the cleaning solvents that were being used added to the sensory overload. The salsa was delicious, and the views are great, but I can't see going back.
