I'll give it to them that their pupusas are good and I think that's where it ends.Parking is terrible, but I didn't rate them based on that.I placed a to-go order with them for some pupilas and plátanos. I'm not sure if it's cus the order was to-go and not a dine-in, they felt they didn't need to provide proper service. The moment I walked it, she girl at the counter didn't even look at me. As I spoke with her, she glanced at me once as if she didn't wanna talk to me or be there. Two stars for the good pupusas and that's it. They're not the only pupuseria in the area so I won't be going back.

As a Salvadorian American, I am always looking for good pupusas around Houston. This place was recommended to me by my coworker. Let me tell you, they're amazingly delicious. They taste home made and are not greasy. The chicharron in the pupusa is deliciously prepared. Granted the location is terrible but, aren't most hole in the wall restaurants? Definitely a must try!

El Sauceno is your local mom and pops Salvadorian Restaurant. The food is 100 percent authentic Salvadorian home cook food. Everything here is done with love and flavor. If you do go make sure you try the pupusas de queso con frijol (bean and cheese). The soups here are also very delicious.

I like the place. It's like but not love. My first experience was the mariscada (caldo de mariscos) which was very good. No rice or extras served with it, but it was a large portion. They were generous with the shrimp. I have no idea what kind of fish they used, but it had bigger than usual bones! The caldo was served with two nice, thick tortillas which are the same ones I assume that are used in making pupusas. It was all very tasty. Everything tasted fresh. Service was adequate but not over the top great. The two girls working were OK. One was sweet and the other not so much. They could honestly work on improving customer service. Some of that might be the language barrier, but it shouldn't be. Kindness can transcend language AND I speak Spanish This place has pretty much all Salvadoran clientele. I'm trying the pupusas next time.

Delicious pupusas. The place is mom and pop and small so we were certain we would enjoy it. We did, and were glad that the dishes we tried were not greasy. It's definitely authentic here. The eggs and chorizo is different, served with beans, crema, small block of white cheese, and some plantains. The cheese and plantains were yummy, but I didn't care for the rest, but that might had been my preference. My friend had the chicken sandwich and said it was ok. Good amount of pictures on the menu, so that was helpful. All in all, we would go back for the pupusas.
