El Matador

Well! This place is improving! The food has always been tasty! But the service was not always at its best during lunches. But here I am! And service is great! I highly recommend!

I don't know why reviews are so low here... this is one of my all time favorite restaurants.The margaritas are strong and the food is good. The restaurant is a bit dated but its a standard Mexican restaurant. There are plenty of large booths, a bar area and a spacious patio. Plenty of parking in this shopping center.I used to come here waaay back in the day when David was running the place. I wish i still lived in the area so that I could visit more frequently.Great place to unwind for afterwork drinks!

This was a good spot. Authentic Mexican food. I went to lunch with my friend. This is a mom and pop shop which are the best ones! The food and drinks were really good.

Came for dinner one night because my friend wanted to celebrate taco Tuesday. Neither of us got tacos but I did get a really good dish with chicken, cheese and rice. It was tasty and allowed me to stay on my diet. I would definitely come back for a flavorful and healthy dish.

First let me start by saying this place has some of the best Mexican food. I absolutely love the beef and bean combination they pour over their tamales. I ordered 3 beef tacos with a double order of rice. They however brought me 3 chicken tacos. I wasn't disappointed though. They were exceptionally good. I've eaten here on several occasions with my gf. We both enjoy it. I add this place to the list of good restaurants in Tucker ga to try.

The servers aren't always visible when you need them which is why I knocked off a star. I also knocked off another star cause I seen that they reuse the chips and dip if they weren't touched by the table they were brought to the first time. Gross. Food is fresh when delivered and I'm a fan of their enchiladas. The rice isn't so great, tastes like rice that has been stored In the fridge for a while. Ehh, there's better Mexican restaurants. This is more of a Mexi-American restaurant...

It's been a while since we visited El Matador, but the service was good. I called ahead to let them know we had a party of 13 coming and the set up a few tables for us. When we arrived, everything was ready and the manager came over and said "Thank you for calling ahead and letting us know you're coming." Ordering was a little hectic because half of our party didn't know what they wanted since they'd never been there before. However, the waitress remembered nearly everyone's orders and made sure to get everyone the correct dishes. Everyone enjoyed their food and the ambiance was perfect for this little dual-family get-together. I had the minichanga and split an order of chalupas with my sister and we all had the salsa, queso, and chips. We ordered the queso with the jalapeños, but it didn't taste spicy at all. The salsa was good. The air was heavy with the fragrance of fresh-made tortillas chips. They were nice and crunchy and hot.My minichanga was a shredded chicken and the chicken itself had really good flavor. My sisters was a ground beef and she said it was delicious. Unfortunately, the "chalupa" wasn't what I was hoping it was... I expected a thick tortilla that was curled up after being fried and I definitely did not expect it to be only beans, lettuce, and some guacamole. That shouldn't cost $10... Regardless, it was meh.I kinda blew it on my order today. I should have gone with fajitas or steak tacos or something like that. For 13 people, we spent about $340. Some meals were more expensive than others, but on average, it was about $26/person. Next time, I'm getting a margarita.

The manager is amazing! Service always awesome. Food is great and portions are huge! The inside of the restaurant is cute and fun!

Great place to eat. Great Friendly people. Great environment. If you're from out of town definitely stop by.

Another disappointment! El Matador is so close so we eat there every single week. Tonight was week number 3 that the order was wrong. At least it was just wrong food and not missing food. That happened last time and one of us didn't eat. This time, we were given the completely wrong order, but the receipt was correct. No salsa at all. I called to let them know and asked for a refund, which I hope goes through. the lady hung up on me. Maybe we will learn our lesson and find another Mexican restaurant.
