This unique drive-thru burrito and taco spot offers $5 daily breakfast burrito specials - which we tried. The order taker was friendly and helped guide us through their ordering process. You order on one side of the storefront and then wrap around the building to pick up the order on the opposite side where you pick up the order and pay. It did take some time to get through the drive-thru - perhaps a morning rush. The burrito itself was decent - nothing to call home about. It had flavor but could use more green chili and the eggs could be fluffer the chorizo within the burrito was mid. However, for the daily special price of $5, it's what I expected. They do have a few outdoor tables but a majority of the crowd rides the drive-thru and heads out.Overall it was a unique experience.

I'm quite certain there's been a change in ownership here. The gentleman who used to cook hasn't been here the last two times I came. Whoever is cooking now is not skilled enough to prepare a simple breakfast burrito in a timely fashion. The food tastes okay, but the prices have gone up and the wait for an order when there's only one other customer isn't worth it.

My boyfriend brought back burritos from this place for breakfast a few weeks ago. He got 2 egg , potato, and steak burritos, his was with the spicy salsa and mine was without. First off overall they are kind of pricey, he told me 2 burriots was 25$ That to me sounds a bit high for burritos. We can make them for way cheaper at home! Regardless, overall the taste was good. The potatoes could have been a bit more crisp, but overall it was pretty good and filling. The steak was juicy and cut small (which I like)Just not sure if we would come back here, will probably try to find a cheaper place since there a few options near by.

Always the best. I love getting Extra Hot. It's a Habenero green chili. My favorite breakfast in Colorado.

My fiancé and our friend stopped here this morning on our way to a hike, because we were in search of a grab and go breakfast burrito. For what we were looking for, El Jefe checked every box. We drove through ordering out burritos, and we are all in agreement that they were so delicious, perfectly filling, and exactly what we were looking for at the time. We each ordered a different of spice, myself with mild, Owen with medium, and Pat with hot. We also all agreed that the level of spice was perfect for our individual tastes. I definitely recommend this spot for a quick breakfast pickup, and from what I had I'm sure their other fare is awesome too. From speaking with our local friend, it's looking like we found a bit of a hidden gem, and I am oh so grateful that we did!!!

We have been coming here for years and have loved their food. But recently we have noticed a big change in their food; the green chili is now pale in color and tastes bland, it has very little flavor. The breakfast burrito, overall, is bland with frozen potatoes, very little meat, no cheese, and that tasteless green chili.I have always loved their tamales, to me they were some of the best. However, yesterday we were there and ordered tamales and WTF happened?? The masa was dry and crumbly and nearly 1" thick filled with fat. I have never had such disgusting food from a restaurant, ever.ElHeffe is quite a way from us, it is no longer worth the drive.WOW!! JUST GROSS!!

Extremely slow. Took 40 minutes for a simple burrito. The restaurant wasn't even that busy when I ordered. Customers came in after me and were receiving their order before me. Highly do not reccomend visiting this establishment. Will never come here again.

I would give it less then one star if I could. Stopped in on the walk up order window for a quick bite but nothing about it was quick and was thinking "oh this is going to be delicious". Ordered chili rellenos burrito and a chicken quesadilla (they forgot the chicken). Worst rellenos I have ever tasted (and seen) rather tasted like it is from a can and microwaved, yuck! Sorry El Jefe you are the most over priced garbage food available in the area. You got some work to do. SPARE YOURSELF AND STAY AWAY!

We've been here a lot of times, before this most recent owner as well. Almost $24 for two beef and bean burritos with cheese. That's ridiculous. The burritos were OK however value for product is not there anymore. And, yes, this is the place with the covered wagon building on 44th in Wheatridge. We won't be back more than likely. Too pricey.
