Been eating here for years and it's a staple in my rotation because I adore Peruvian cuisine. Consistently delicious food and generous portions. Service is efficient and friendly. It gets packed at lunch time but they somehow always find us a table. My food recommendations:- tri color ceviche - papa a la huancaina - Jalea mixta - chicharron de pescado- lomo saltado con Tacu Tacu (fave)- chaufa mixto al "Chalan" (excellent!)- tallarines verdesGreat for take out orders too. We get delivery to the office all the time. You really can't go wrong with "El Chalan" - 10/10

I am completely dumb-funded by the fact so many people left good reviews. This is the worst Peruvian food we ever had. My wife is Peruvian and we had hundreds or Peruvian but this was not even tasting like it.The service was nice but extremely slow. Ambiance is very simple and good for family. You can have amazing Peruvian food for the same price.

It's nothing fancy but the staff are always friendly and the Peruvian food is great! The ceviche is fresh and has so much flavor. The fried red snapper fish is well seasoned and the presentation is great when they serve it. Sometimes the best places are simple!

Probably the best place for Peruvian food hands down! You know i like the HUGE portions so make sure you dont get full on the bread! LOL (warning dont eat all the bread). Like always pretty much tried everything on the menu but went with my usual fish dish, of course the ceviche, seafood mixto platter, and the mussels. Super casual spot, simple and definitely try out the desserts! SLAMMMMMIN and also the fresh lemonada, but tell them less sugar... Been here like 10x's definite good spot!

El Chalán has been my go-to Peruvian restaurant in Miami for the past 15 years, and it's easy to see why it's my favorite. There's a comforting sense of familiarity each time I visit, thanks to the consistent staff who've become like family over the years. The quality of the food has remained top-notch throughout, with each dish bursting with authentic Peruvian flavors that keep me coming back for more. Whether it's the ceviche, lomo saltado, or any of their other specialties, I've never been disappointed. The atmosphere is always welcoming, with an ambiance that perfectly captures the spirit of Peru. It's not just a meal; it's an experience--one that I've cherished for over a decade and will continue to for many years to come

Used to love this restaurant but I do not think I will be returning. Ordered Papas Huancainas and the sauce was spoiled (they took it off our bill) but when we asked for Fish Ceviche we were told they did not have any because it had gotten spoiled. (Not very safe) Ordered the Lomo Saltado and the meat was overcooked and dry. The fries were old and there was hardly any sauce on the food. Glory days are gone.

Very good food! Big portions so come hungry (and try not to eat all the bread in the beginning). Wanted to try everything on the menu but went with my usual lomo saltado. Casual ambiance, but the place doesn't feel very clean. Someone even brought their dog in - is that even allowed?!
