This used to be our place to go. We would always come here for good cheap food, although the service wasn't the best the delicious food made up for it.Well we moved away from the area and haven't been here in forever so decided to come here for lunch after church. Big mistake.First off they raised the prices a lot. Ok, I get it, restaurants have suffered during COVID and need to do that. That's cool. I'm not upset at that. Although they now charge for chips and salsa, which is not cool. What Mexican restaurant does that? Well, El Centinela apparently. The food is still good, but not sure it's worth the higher prices, and I absolutely do not like paying for chips unless you're going to keep me well stocked and refilled before I ask. And no, they didn't.The service is still bad. But now you pay more to be ignored. So yeah. No. I doubt we'll be back. We used to love this place but not anymore. There's better places to go. Adios El Centinela.

Friendly service and fresh, delicious food. You may order breakfast any time of day. I ordered the Chimichanga Poblano. It was everything delicious for breakfast, all rolled up in a flour tortilla, fried and covered in a cheesy poblano sauce. Our server was Sandra. She took very good care of us. We will definitely be visiting again to try other items on their new menu.

Had a great night out with the family and decided to give this place a try based on the reviews. Arrived a few minutes before 8pm on a Saturday and there was only two other people in the restaurant. I was like ok, a bit weird but we are going to give it a try. After being seated we had our drink orders taken and chips and salsa hit the table. For the people that like a bit more normality during these times then this is right up your alley. Salt and pepper on the table, it was like a breath of fresh air. The chips are slightly thick with a good crunch and the salsa has a tad bit of heat, decent taste as well. Decided to try something different and we ordered theChimichanga Ranchera with chicken. 5/10Served with rice and beans. The chimichanga was decent but the ranchera sauce needs some help, it lacked any real flavor. The rice is your basic restaurant rice, nothing special and the refried beans were bland as well. It was not horrible but not something I would ever order again. Chili Con Queso Chimichanga with chicken, peppers and onions. 6/10Served with rice and beans. The queso is really good and gives the chimichanga a decent flavor. The peppers and onions need a bit more time on the flat top. Cozumel 6/10The dish is pretty good, the only complaint is a lack of flavor. The tilapia, shrimp, and cream sauce kinda meld together with the melted cheese on top. Served with charro beans and rice. The charro beans are decent but seem to be on the same boat as everything else, more flavor. Tortillas are homemade with a decent flavor. Fajita Flameada with Chicken. 7/10This dish is pretty good, the chicken was a bit overcooked but overall not too bad. The chorizo was ok but like everything else lacked any real flavor. This place is definitely not the worst place to eat but overall could use a flavor lift. The customer service was good, maybe a bit more attention to empty chips and salsa but still good. Give it a try, it might be up your alley.

The place gets a 5-star review from our family and friends because the food, service, and prices are great. We moved here and after a few hit and mis Mexican restaurants in the area we landed here. Despite a few Pedley Karen reviews because you can't please everyone we didn't let that detour us, thank God we didn't the place is clean, and the decor is pleasing. The prices are better than most for the quality and quantity of food. The El Centinela Plate was wonderful, our Mexican friends approved of this place. My chimichanga was packed full of fajita beef very tender and not skimpy. My wife had the chilpote shrimp and was pleased how tasty and flavorful it was.

The price is too high for the quality of food. The service was not good since the waiter and manager didn't know what was on their menu. The place looks ok. I would suggest another place.

I ordered the El Centinela Plate which was beef, chicken and shrimp fajitas with onions and bell peppers and charro bens and rice. The beans were ok, the chicken was ok but no taste. The shrimp was over cooked and no taste, the beef was so tough you could not eat it. I could not even cut it up. I took the meat home and pulled out my sharp cooking knife and still struggled cutting it up for the dogs. My wife had the El Centinela burrito. She ate less than half, again no taste and left it on the table. Definitely will not go back. People on facebook raved about it. Drove from Pearland to League City to try it out. Never again...

I was not very impressed with the food. All of it was so bland. The salsa didn't even have any spice to it. The beans and rice had a strange flavor to it, so I didn't eat it. The soft drink had no fizz to it. It was my first visit and I will not be back. I'm so disappointed.

We have been here many times. The food and service has never disappointed. I see reviews that talk of prices on the menu increasing . . .have you been to the grocery store lately? Restaurants MUST increase prices to stay afloat, their profit margins are decreasing as we speak. This is a independent restaurant, NOT a chain. They need the local support. Anyways, breakfast has always been good, love the Summer Enchiladas. In fact, we'll be heading over there tonight for dinner. Enjoy!
