The only authentic Mexican restaurant in Cary! Lengua tacos are superb. And awesome service.

My friend was wanting a more authentic Mexican meal and decided to try out El Amigo in Cary. The service was amiable and the wait time was not bad at all. The papusas were as good as any I've had and the portions were generous. Not a bad price either. I cannot remember what my friend ordered but it was also satisfying; he thoroughly enjoyed it.The facility itself is small but that's not a negative as turnover is quick due to expedient service. It was a nice bright place to enjoy a midday meal.

Great food and service. Convenient location to neighborhoods I frequent in Cary. I love the pulled pork carnitas. Two are $5.50.

The food was outstanding! This place has all the markings of a local dive that you might bypass: fast food-style order at the register, kind of worn all over, small seating area, grab a drink from the fridge, no beer, you can order chips and salsa if you want them, and no other customers. But service was very good and engaging, and the best Mexican food around. Try it, you'll like it!

Nice little local gem. Had barbacoa, asada, carnitas, and chorizo tacos. Were totally authentic and delicious. Not a fan of the salsas though, too spicy for me. But loved the food! The guacamole was awesome! Will definitely return!!

El Amigo is a hidden gem in Cary. We eat here often and it's so delicious every time! My favorite is the chicken tacos. The chicken is grilled to perfection with an amazing flavor. It comes in a corn tortilla with cilantro, lime, radishes, grilled onions, a side of sauce, a slice of grilled pepper, and raw onions (which I always ask for no raw ones). It's so fresh and yummy! My husband gets the chicken tacos too and the tamales. The tamales are also delicious. This visit I tried a chicken sope, which was amazing with beans, avocado, and sour cream. Their juices are always tasty. This visit we got the tamarind juice, but we've also tried their horchata. I love them all. We always come back and I highly recommend a visit!

Burritos - good. Tacos - good. Pupusa - good. Tostada - good. Gordita - good. Tamales - good. Hot sauce - good.The peeps - good peeps.This place is really really good.

The torta, rice and beans, tacos, campechano...everything is so good. Best Mexican around.

First time at El Amigo. Authentic Mexican menu prepared well. Tamales and tacos were delicious, highly recommended. Queso, salsa and chips were fresh and excellent.
